Backing up everything and installing nightly builds

Hi I have just rooted my Legend and installed Cyanogen mod and its all running lovely.... I notice that the nightly builds come out quite regularly.
My question is this....
What is the best way to install the new ROM?
What is the easiest way to get all my settings/ installed apps back? Is there a nice and easy way of backing up everything so that I can install the new ROM and then reinstate everything?
Thanks in advance for any useful info.
Matt
Hi ,
One software for all : Rom Manager
With it you can :
backup & restore all your phone (from app or from recovery menu in nandroid area)
It also allow you to download and install other ROM like nightly build
Bye
Not sure if that is what the question meant? I thought they wanted to know how to reload all apps and settings on the new rom, not just how to recover back to the old rom.
I thought titanium backup would be the go, but I myself am still getting the hang of this whole rom flashing thing.
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
If it is just for restoring installed apps, then Titanium Backup would be the best way for me.

[Q] CyanogenMod 9 Build Rom

I used to installing ICS based Roms in my previous SGS-I9000 and when I needed to revert back to Gingerbread custom rom, I had to use PC odin to do that, since just Nandroid restore will not work.
Is the same thing valid for Galaxy Note?
I am currently in rocket rom and like to try out CyanogenMod 9 experimental Build but wondering if I will be able to simply restore my current rom without the hastle of using Odin. Please advise if you try this already.
Look like no stable CyanogenMod 9 for Galaxy Note for now....
Well it's pretty stable. Bluetooth, Camera and MTP are not working.
But it's possible to restore it to gingerbread with nandroid restore.
I tried it and everything works.
hehehhee i installed ics 4.0 around 6 times and to revert back all you need is just a nandroid backup go in recovery and restore your backup thats it no nothing hope this answers your problem
enjoy

I know this is the wrong thread but since cm9 thread is closed, do you have an HDMI adapter for your Galaxy Note? If so could you tell me if it works on CM9?
Yes, you can restore your NAND backup without any problems. I've done it myself.

you can extract the apps apk files from your nandroid tar backups of your original samsung rom, then try installing some of them.
make a full nandroid backup of your current stock rom first. make a full nandroid backup of your slim rom before trying to install old stock apps.
some of the apps have no odex component and are compatible with JB 4.2.. those are the ones you can install.
I run stock quick office, for example.
you can find some of the apps in the captivate themes and apps forum.
be careful about installing any system apps that will overwrite a newer version on you current rom, e.g., camera, email, contacts, etc. this is not a good idea.

Restore Stock ROM

Hello,
This is my first post on Xda.
I followed the guides on here recently to Root my HTC Desire C, install Nameless v7 and Sim unlock the phone, which has worked. However I am finding the ROM abit laggy and I ham having problems with the WiFi and 3G data signal.
Is there a way of restoring the original HTC ROM?
I made a recovery file before rooting the phone, is it just a case of restoring this?
Thanks
Nameless rom is outdated. You should try cyanogenmod 10.
But if you still wanna go back to stock, restore that backup.

Wifi not working after flashing any rom

Hi all!
First sorry if this is not the right Forum.
I have flashed many roms In my xt1502
But by now it does not matter the ROM i try, WiFi will not work
I am using clockmod recovery.
Thanks of backup i can still keep using pac-man ROM but none of the other roms based on CM11
Thanks for your help.
I have googled and the answers are not clear
I have tried to change kernels and recovery but issues remain still!
When flashing CM12 based ROM, WiFi works again... So i guess the problem is the build?
Solution
Thanks to myself...
I solved the problem: install TWR 2.6 version, then factory reset. Version 2.8 of TWRP makes sometimes "update binary" error.
You must install a ROM based on any CM11 before 20141104, and then you always do a dirty flash of later version of the choosen rom
I guess there must be something ROM in The versions of cm11 after that date, at least form xt1502 model.
