[Q]Any ROMs compatible with flashfire and don't trip knox? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

Hey guys. Been out of the S6 ROM game recently and missed the whole Flashfire thing. I am rooted, but have not installed any custom recoveries or anything like that. I've been spending the last couple days reading and trying to find any TMO ROMs that are flashable on Flashfire without tripping knox.
Are any of the ROMs for TMO compatible with Flashfire and won't trip knox? What is the process behind flashing one of those?

Remove the boot.img from the zip and from the installer script to be safe. If you do that you won't trip knox. Be safe and stick to roms in the tmobile section for now.

what part of the script do we have to remove? where is it?

Look at some installer script tutorials and you will be able to get it done. I don't feel like explaining what needs to be done, plus you'll have more knowledge on the things you flash!

I downloaded looper. Still hesitant to event try and flash

I have xtrestolite downloaded and I am also hesitant to flash. I am in no hurry to flash a custom rom. I just want to know what is out there and the process behind flashing the ROMs so I am prepared when I want to flash.

I was just looking over that thread to see if 1) flashing it would trip knox, and 2) if anybody had tried flashing it with flashfire.
I want somebody else to take the plunge before I do

Hello,
do you have any reference links to learn more about the installer scripts and how to know if the rom I want to install will trip Knox or not?
Thanks.

[Q] Flash Custom recovery rooted Note 3 Att 4.4.2

Hey all, I have searched and searched but can't seem to find anything. Tried removing carrier iq the wrong way, just removed the files from the system, caused a boot loop, I'm rooted but don't have a custom recovery installed, can someone direct me to the correct file to flash by Odin to install a custom recovery? That way I can reinstall / move the files back to where they were? Will this work? Thanks a lot! Jeremy
There is no custom recovery for the AT&T Note 3. You said you're on 4.4.2, correct? If so, you'll have to use the MLG restore (see the link in my signature for a guide) or go to a Samsung Experience Center at your local Best Buy and have them reflash your phone.
Thanks, that's what I was thinking. And as far as best buy, I've tried before and the guy there said flashing a rooted phone will brick it and he absolutely would not do it so... And that's the only best buy around so...

I took my rooted phone to Best Buy when it was on MJ5 in order to update to OTA 4.4 when it was released, and it worked just fine. Maybe something changed then.

Yeah what I was thinking, he doesn't know what he's talking about pretty much, I didn't want to even go up there and try because of the lack of knowledge. But now I do want to flash my phone to nc2 stock and go from there. Are we sure that I can? I'm running the flashed method of the mj5 itself, no nc2 kernel or anything, just the flashed mj5 from Carl's post.

thats MGL with A3 bootloader, if you install that then you will not have any trace of Root. You can do a factory reset first and then install that odin install, then go to AT&T if thats your carrier and they may do more for you than best buy.
Or do this if you want official nc2 4.4.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701062

thats only good if you have the A2 older bootloader, I think jeremyds45 took the A3 bootloader, to my understanding
That's what he has he said he flashed mj5
---------- Post added at 08:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:29 PM ----------
Now if he has mlg I would suggest he use your nc2 thread in development
If anyone is interested in the future, best buy can indeed flash the official NC2 4.4.2 kitkat to your note 3 as long as you're not on verizon, rooted, or have tripped knox, have a custom rom or the like. When i went in this time i actually spoke to someone who knew something and hooked me up, samsung rep, plugged it in to their computer, downloaded the software, rebooted and all was back to normal. Just like an official ota update, didn't lose any of my files, settings anything. So we're back, and now rooted and rollin.
So basically anyone who installed safestrap and doesn't have a working backup is out of luck.

If you want to go back to stock 4.4.2, you can flash by odin the leaked tar, which will remove root, and everything, then go to best buy have them flash the nc2 official, then start from scratch there, with rooting and safestrap etc.

FlashFire on the SM-G920T

It looks like Nobody on the G920T has tried Flashfire yet and gave a report (that I could find) so I decided to.
I just rooted via pingpong so I kept knox warranty intact. Then I decided to take the leap of faith and test out flashfire here are my results:
EFS backup and restore: Success
full system backup: Success
Flash a rom (Looper): Success
Full Restore (Except modem Firmware): Failed but it kind of worked. I needed to do a factory reset, but was back on the stock non looper rom after the reset.
Make sure you delete the boot.img from the zip and delete the line from the installer script. If you do not do that you will trip knox, on the same note you cannot flash any custom kernel atm without tripping knox.

Either the rom (probably) or the system restore tripped knox. I checked after the efs restore and it was still 0x0. Tread lightly until more information is out if you want to keep knox intact I just wish I would have checked knox after flashing the rom People on other knox devices have flashed roms without tripping knox so all hope is not lost.

Honestly why wouldn't you remove both? I'm sure it would fail but if this script is anything like the majority, the boot.Img line is the last thing to install so as long as it doesn't delete the old boot.img it should still work. why not take the extra 20 seconds and deleted the line?

Don't Upgrade to OF1 If You'd Like To Root/Downgrade

It has been confirmed that updating to OF1 includes the downgrade protection we've seen in the T-Mobile builds on 5.1.1... You won't be able to root directly on this build, either, since the exploit was patched by this ROMs build date. I will make a package that will allow users on OE2 to to update to OF1 while maintaining root. If you are on OC3 still you can upgrade to OE2 using my tutorial in Android Development.
Can someone who updated to OF1 successfully please try downgrading back to OC3 using the ODIN image provided within this General Thread? Since no one else has released a OF1 ROM/ODIN package I was going to do it myself, but along the way I noticed a change within this update package-- it now includes a magic string header at the very end of the update process, just like the Lollipop 5.1.1 ROMS for other devices that now incorporate protections against downgrading. I'd rather not bone myself/everyone else out of future development if this mechanism is in fact in place.
Thanks in advance! As soon as I have a confirmation it is still downgradable, I will finish this package.
Odin will not downgrade after OF1. I've tried 5 times using 2 different PCs and Odin failed every time.

Had a few "?'s" on that statement. Purely assumption on my part, so take my previous statement and my next few statements with a grain of salt. Ping Pong root has been patched and unless they find another method there is no root on 5.1.1. Locked Bootloader, with no way around that, so no custom kernel to root (a la this method). Right now in order to upgrade to OE2, you have to use a patched version that keeps root, what happens when it can no longer be "patched" to keep root in further builds? If you've upgraded already to the latest build via OTA, you can no longer downgrade. Trust me, I want to continue to have root for what ever the latest build is out there but Verizon/Samsung have been locking things down tighter and tighter and there is always the possibility that an exploit isn't found and end up with no root on later builds than what we have now. Again, all of this is just my assumption and I hope to end up wrong in the end about everything, 5.1.1 isn't even out yet for us so we'll see when it drops.
I know this is probably not the right place to post this but i would be willing to donate a 100 dollars to someone that gives me root on verizon s6 OF1. I messed up and upgraded. So I sure hope someone can get root. I have tried everything.
Thanks

You would download a factory image form the Google developer page. Extract twice, and grab the system image from there. Yes, match the version your phone is currently on.

well, 2 months ago it was being called older.. anyways, the far majority of roms do not have root. you need to flash the supersu file shen flashing the roms, for root. but, to flash a rom, yoh need an unlocked bootloader and twrp recovery. most apps that check for root will still think that you have root though.

far as i have ever seen, its rare for a rom to not be rooted, however, more frequently devs have had it off by default, and its a treasure hunt to find where to turn it on.

yup I found that most are pre-rooted, though found cleancore that works great. I've just installed multirom and that booted into it then tested a couple of apps that are blocked on root (Banking app and Sky Go), and happy days they work great.
Its annoying and rather wasteful having have a second rom just to run a couple of apps but at least now I can use the apps on my device if I want to. Thanks
Typical apps block hacking (root) so the work around instead of unrooting is to go deeper with the hacks/mods

Stock S6 [SM-G920T] Kernel?

Hello again, I'm back with another question.
After successfully rooting my T-Mobile S6, I was wondering if anyone has a backup of the S6's original kernel. I would like to have it just in case something goes wrong with my phone, and thankfully nothing has, but I just want to be on the safe side. I've already tripped KNOX so, no official repairs for me. Yes, along with Android Pay. Samsung pay however, seems to crash no matter what. IR function (The Peel Smart Remote App uses this) works, and everything runs smoothly. If your looking to use Xposed, your going to have to deodex the stock ROM, or install a custom one.
