Hi,
I purchased my Note from Amazon.de and it came with Baseband Version: N7000XXLB2 which is a German version. I live in England so I wanted to move to a UK rom. As I could not root it by any given method, I downladed " N7000XXKKA ------ 2.3.6 2011 November------- N7000CPWKK3 -----------United Kingdom (Carphone Warehouse)" and flashed it via Odin. Than I got my root but now I can't get it updated via built in Software Update thing. My current Baseband is:N7000XXKK5. Any suggestions to get official OTA updates?
Regards
I believe because you are on latest build 2.3.6 that you won't get any OTA updates until ICS is available. I've never had one OTA update (had the phone for 6 months) and always put this down to the fact that I have manually updated many kernels and ROMs so am always on a recent one.
If you flashed the latest UK rom then you won't get any OTA updates since it's the latest rom.
Even if you get ota you should not update as you would loose root doing so.

make sure you only have root and not non stock kernel.
that stops ota as well as having different csc than the stock rom you are with. In my experience at least.
So if you dont have latest rom for your csc and do want it with functional ota then flash through Odin a pre december version that is rootable in conventional way. Then only root it. After root try Ota, it should deliver incremental upgrades. After each test root thought by updating superuser app. Tedious process but that guarantees keeping Ota and root for me at least.
All at own risk, and do the proper backups like efs if you havent done so already. pm if you need more details

Description: This is the official version of Android 4.3 pushed to phones via OTA on January 7, 2014. Shortly thereafter an Odin package was posted that contains the entire firmware, not just the update package that was pushed via OTA. This firmware adds compatibility with the Samsung Galaxy Gear, enables drag and drop to uninstall or disable applications, and adds more AT&T bloat. Since new bootloaders are included in this update there is currently no other way to downgrade to any of the other firmwares. A brief changelog for the release by AT&T can be found here. Please read this important note about the ML2 bootloader before flashing, it provides a way to preserve the ability to downgrade. Saferoot ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758 ) worked for MI2 for me. Is there anyone who has tried it (or would be willing to try it) on ML2? I'm sorry if this has been covered somewhere. I just spent the past hour or so catching up on things I've missed in the past few weeks and didn't see record of anyone attempting it, but I easily could have missed it.

There are some discussions in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2606550, about how MI2 works but ML2 does not. Once again, there still is no root whatsoever for the official 4.3 (ML2) for the time being. (1/31/14)
Also on a side note, a lot of people are getting confused between MI2 root which is root for the "LEAKED" version of 4.3 and ML2 which is the "OFFICIAL" version of 4.3 which can't be rooted as of now. Just hopefully people will catch on the difference between MI2 and ML2

Please read the descriptions for the firmware in the OP. If you want to be on the latest official firmware, flash ML2. You will lose root with no way to get it back and you will not be able to downgrade to any other firmware. If this is troubling to you then flash anything else.

I read through that post and it is starting to sound like that is the route to go, flash Ml2's bootloader with ML2. I think the last person I saw who posted said his wifi worked along with everything else others had issues with after.
I am still pretty new to android os's, but is the locked bootloader something that would keep me from successfully backing up my entire system(MF3, 4.2.2, safestrap, rooted, unlocked), then installing ML2, then running a restore of my MF3 backup? I know that sounds silly, but if I could restore MF3, I could help experiment with this ML2 situation, i.e. getting root to work or who knows maybe even figuring out this locked bootloader issue we are dealing with. I guess the problem would be I would need to be rooted to do a full restore, correct?

Sorry for the confusion, this thread is for the AT&T stock firmware, I should have put that in the title of the thread. I would add the Mexico and Uruguay versions, but I don't know enough about it and I don't want AT&T users to try using firmware that isn't meant for their phone.

I'm going to bet that it won't flash since the Telcel users were unable to flash the AT&T ML2 firmware. If you do try this, I would be very hesitant to flash the included bootloader. If you are able to keep the bootloader from either MF1 or MI2 you will allow yourself an escape path back to other firmware. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice!

Are you currently on ML2? If you are can you try flashing the ML2 bootloader for the i9295 from sammobile? I'm guessing it will fail to flash, but if it is successful you have the potential for an unlocked i537. Be careful because you could also end up bricking your phone flashing any firmware or bootloader.
hey Devo7v, ive read on the web ML3 from TELCEL works on neAT&Tidy's S4A, unfortunatly I downloaded soemthing else, im re downloading now, but only goes at 300kbs with means forever for 1.4gb (about an hour says Chrome)

has anyone tried the new CF-AUTO-ROOT for android 4.4.4 and device model M3XX that has been uploaded yesterday.
I have stock germany firmware 4.4.4 with the new bootloader and SECURE DOWNLOAD Enabled in Knox, do you think if i flash this with odin will root my device?
thank you.
officially the most simple way to root i9305
tried the new added cf-auto-root for I9305 lte.
flashed it with odin...which comes in the archive and it works like a charm on 4.4.4 stock Germany firmware.
Thank you chainfire.
hey, i had on my s4 active jellybean 4.2.2 and i installed NEE nordic countries firmware for lollipop and it worked perfectly then i decided to download kitkat 4.2.2 for nordic countries too and it worked then i was having issues with wifi and notifications and after trying several ways to solve them without anything working, i decided to downgrade back to jellybean.. i downloaded the official one that was on my phone which was XFE - XXUAMF7 but when flashing with odin it stoped at aboot.mbn failed (auth) and i searched everywhere to solve the problem,i tried wiping and factory reset and battery off and runing odin as administrator doesnt work.. its either the file is corrupted or i cant downgrade after having kitkat/lollipop.
then i found a thread which stated something about knox and android versions above 4.3 does not allow downgrading unless its the same country/carrier...
is this correct?? should i download 4.2.2 for nordic countries and try it?
am on limited internet bandwidth and am running out of gb so i would like to know if NEE 4.2.2 firmware will be flashed successfuly? and if not what are other solutions??
note: after flashing and getting the aboot fail (auth) error," i get flashing firmware has encountered error, try using kies to update" but kies states that it does not support my device. so i flashed back to kitkat and it worked. however i insist on downgrading it.

Hi,
I have updated my unrooted note 8 to the android Pie but unfortunately I didn't like the new awful UI also I missed some good features in android Oreo. So, is it possible to use Odin to downgrade unrooted note 8. I'm not interested to root it, just want to downgrade it to official Oreo.
One more question, I even liked Android Nougat than Oreo. So is it possible to downgrade from Pie to Nougat using Odin without rooting?
thanks

You can go back to oreo as long as the bootloader is the same.
You'll have to do a factory reset though.
eg.
Oreo firmware: N950FXXS5CSA2
PIE firmware: N950FXXU5DSA2
Notice the 5 before "DSA2" and the "CSA2" that's the bootloader version. So since the pie and oreo firmware has the same bootloader version you can go back to oreo.
You can NOT go back to Nougat different bootloaders.
eg.
Nougat firmware: N950FXXU3BRA8
PIE firmware : N950FXXS5DSB2
Notice the 3 before "BRA8" and 5 before "DSB2" they don't match!
So the bootloader version 5 will NOT downgrade itself to version 3 therefore Odin will give you a failed error message.
To be is a different question . I have a problem, I want flash the rom with pie generic Spain, now I am in Vodafone pie and Odin always say fail, what can I do?, thanks.

What is your csc?
Spain is PHE in multi-CSC OXM
Vodafone is ATL in OVF Csc firmware.
If you used home-CSC and it fails only option is to use the CSC file (this will delete data so backup first.)
The multi-CSC oxm doesn't have ATL csc inside so you'll lose any carrier specific features (maybe???) So do some research first.
CSC Questions
Hello everybody, I've found myself in the position of needing to downgrade from Pie back to Oreo also.
My question revolves around this "MYSTERIOUS" Samsung "CSC" designation, and the difficulties in verifying what I have vs what I NEED
I have an unlocked SM-N950U1 which is currently running on the Verizon network in the United States
I do NOT have any of the Verizion specific features, ie.... "My Verizon" or even "Verizon Visual VoiceMail"
the phone has also been on the AT&T network previously again with no carrier specific features there either.
Since the "secret code" for the dialer didn't work to reveal my CSC, and there is no carrier software version entry in my about phone software information to reveal the CSC either, I downloaded one of the generic "phone info" apps and it reports VZW as currently active CSC on the CSC tab, but then on the firmware tab in the CSC version location its reporting "N950U1OYM5DSC1" and I have found zero reference to an "OYM" CSC anywhere.
I have downloaded both the PIE and OREO variants of the "XAA" firmware for my Note 8
Does anybody have any idea if this is going to be the correct firmware to accomplish this downgrade without bricking this darn thing, I have no interest in root nowadays because the minuses out weigh the pluses and I really don't want to trigger knox and loose google pay or any of my banking apps, but I really do use and need to use the call recording capabilities that still worked in Oreo, and not anymore in Pie
Thanks in advance
Dan

Hi, i just came to this conclusion! i am currently running N950FXXU7DSJ1 and odin always gives me error when i try to downgrade. no matter newest or older version. so there is no possible way to downgrade?
What if i unlock bootloader(if its possible for currently last version), change to custom recovery and install any custom rom(nougat?) and maybe flash bootloader via custom rom also? will this option be possible at all?
