Hey guys,
Recently a new bug has appeared on 4.4 roms, after updating the google services it gets force close on high accuary (with only gps its working fine). Anybody has an idea how to solve the problem? Other thing is after updating services there's no deep sleep (still mostly on 4.4 roms). Hope we can find solution for these problems! Thanks in Sadvance

Hello my friend. I faced up this annoying problem. the problem solved after i followed these suggestions fromTPD-21(post 414 ) . because i found it complicated to make it on a already Installed rom i made a clean installation and i followed the instructions from the step 3. Works on any kit kat rom for our phone and is permanent solution.

With the last Google Play Services update (8.3), the issue is solved
EDIT
After a few weeks, the problem was back again. I solved it (permanently, I hope) by taking the following steps:
1. Download modified libjavacore.so from here and put it on your external SD
2. Make a nandroid backup (just in case)
3. Open any root file explorer, go to "system/lib" and make a backup copy of the original libjavacore.so
4. Copy the NEW libjavacore.so in "system" (not in "lib" yet) and change permissions in -rw-r-r- (same as the old file)
5. Copy (don't cut/paste!) the NEW libjavacore.so with modified permissions in "system/lib" and overwrite the old one
6. Reboot
7. Delete the modified libjavacore.so still present in system
This worked for me. I'm on CarbonROM 4.4.4 with CWM with the last Play Services update (8.3.01)

I have factory reset the device 3 times deleted everything, flashed using ODIN but no avail. Any body has any solution for this?
I am using:
Stock ROM XXMEB5
Stock Kernel
Stock Recovery
EDIT: Finally Solved the Problem. The phone was not resetting properly, so for users facing this problem there are 2 possible solutions:
1. Flash stock rom, goto stock recovery and from there wipe data if CWM does not do it properly (In my case CWM did not do it properly)
2. The other solution, the info i figured out was that it had to do something with a folder in Android/Data directory. Try to delete folders one by one to see if this fixes the error
I recently updated OTA to 4.1.2 and have suddenly got this same problem today, im not technically that great so all i did was save the files i wanted to keep and did a factory reset but nothing has changed. I can open my pictures in Smart Gallery Lock Free but im also having the problem that nothing deteles properly, everything i delete re-appears when i re enter Smart Gallery
I have tried removing the files directly from "My Files" but it will only work on the extSdCard not sdcard0 its says deleted but doesnt go anywhere.
I have looked at point 2. but i dont know what i can delete without making things worse
Hope somebody can help
same problem in my SGS II, nothing woks, wipe data reset factory i have done every thing nothing works my only alternativ eis using quickpic app

HTC One M7 Viper One 6.2.1 MediaServer Drain

Hey All,
I'm having the ominous MediaServer battery drain, however mine began appearing the moment I installed this ROM. I wiped everything and installed the ROM just like you're supposed to, and that same night, I began having MediaServer issues. I hadn't installed anything I didn't have on my previous ROM (where I didn't have these issues) and so I'm thinking it's something to do with the ROM itself. A few days later, I updated my venom rom to 6.2.1 but the problems persisted. I don't want to update to 9 because I don't want to wipe my phone again. I have a picture of the directories mediaserver is scanning that I found out using the adb shell but I can't post it since I don't have 10 posts yet. What are my options for removing potentially corrupt directories that are part of the OS?
I downloaded Root Explorer and tried to find dev/null - however I didn't find a folder or file named "null" in the dev folder, however I am a beginner so I don't really understand what it meant for mediaserver to be scanning /dev/null.
If I can have some help from you experienced guys, it would be awesome - I've looked around but I've only seen people reccommend others delete corrupt files, and mine seems to be a system problem. All other fixes I've seen like mediaserver killer and Rescan Media Root don't work for me.
Thanks!

[Q] Navigon canot install maps

I had Navigon running on my Xperia Z1c under KitKat 4.4.4 without problems, then the battery died and I got myself a Xperia Z3c (D5803) running the Sony stock ROM 23.5.A.0.575 Android 6.0.1
I installed Navigon but I only have the default maps of Andorra, Vatikan and SanMarino. Every attempt to install the maps I need has failed.
I am using (or really not using as it is useless without the maps) Navigon Version 5.7.2 (build.9370,NK 574)
I have already deinstalled every file and folder with "navigon" in it, wiped Dalvik Cache and Cache and reinstalled.
The program installs and at the first run fetches another 750MB of data from the server but when I choose maps and press Update it hang with the screen showing "Downloading"
Garmin Support answered my first mails instantly but during the last days I do not get any information other than "pleas give us the Device-ID and Version of the App (which I have already provided together with screenshots and a Catlog file )
I have already tried downloading the Garmin Xperia Edition Version 5.7.1 (build.9367,NK 574) but the result was the same.
I have a copy of the map-files in my backup from the dead Xperia Z1c but when I copied them to the data/Navigon/map/ folder they were not recognized, probably they need to be registered somewhere in the navigon-app, the map for Austria is named Austria.map but shows up in the selection as Österreich, so there must be some place the names are translated. does anyone happen to know where to insert the information?
Which filters could be useful when turning on Catlog? The file gets too large during the time download and the installation takes.
Any help appreciated

I don't have Garmin and after a brief experimentation with Garmin Xperia edition, decided to never bother with it again. Is there nothing in the settings where you choose the storage path? I know SD card permisions changed with Marshmallow and this may be the source of your problem. A lot of software manufacturers still have the historical /sdcard/maps storage instead of /sortage/*sdcardname*/maps storage. So if it's possible to correct this somewhere in the settings, alternatively try and force it to use onboard storage, rather than the external SD card. Is that an option in the setup? some map programs (like Sygic for example) ask where to install and keep maps.
Reading up a bit, in the older version of Garmin the maps have to be registered in an .xml file. I think it's called navit.xml. Can you see that anywhere?
Have you tried posting a stinking review in the playstore? Sometimes developers like to be seen to reach out with a reply and offer of get in touch.
If you can't get any help from Garmin and no one from XDA can help, it might be time to vote with your feet and move to another app. I can recomend Sygic, once you have set it up and downloaded the maps (to a location of your choosing), it works entirely without data or mobile signal, it doesn't need the nod from google location to start working. The turn by turn audio cues are good enough to use without looking at the map.
I talked to Garmin support on the phone for the third time this week and this time I ewas told, there was a "known problem downloading maps with Android 6.0.1" (maybe my bug-report with Catlog files ) and they would send me a mail with a workaround that another supportteam member had told me did not exist, I will dl the maps to the SDcard directly using a PC and their Program Navigon Fresh Maps (I doubt it will work, as I have tried that before)
I give the another week and the will go for Here together with appropriate reviews.

Files that can not be erased in the phone

Hello to everyone, i have a problem with my xt1254 64gb.
In the last few days it was getting too warm, the battery drained quickly and it was very slow. I checked and the problem was Google Play Services ...
After making a series of tests I decided to do a hard reset via twrp but here i find the real problem: you can not do a hard reset because you can not delete the folder "/data/data/com.google.android.gms/cache/ftc ". There are two files in this folder, one is Schedule and another without a name, and these two files are just a problem. I could not even reinstall the firmware because when I did it, my phone was constantly restarting and I was having problems with play services, so the only solution that reminded me of my phone was to rename the folder in com.google.android.gms .OLD, this way when the firmware is reinstalled this folder is ignored and the installation proceeds smoothly.
My question is: why did this problem happen to me? Is there an alternative way to permanently delete this folder?

LG MyPlaces Engine , LG My Places Settings and LG Map UI

Hi all
Please someone can backup the LG MyPlaces Engine (com.lge.myplace.engine ...) and LG My Places Settings (com.lge.myplace ...) from the LG V30 stock PIE rom (Android 9) system applications, mainly. ( I dont know if LG Map UI is important for GPS works correctly ) and upload them to a server and facilitate the link?
GPS doesn't work well for me. And the option to select the location accuracy mode has disappeared.
I know that I removed those 3 applications from the system believing that nothing was going to happen and on top of that I made the mistake of not backing them up.
I suppose those 2 applications are necessary for the GPS to work properly on the LG V30 and for the accuracy mode option to appear in the location section.
Please appreciate if someone help me

Ah, another misguided debloating attempt. Almost everything in stock LG firmware is connected like spider web. Even if you don't break something you are going to introduce lag. Best to freeze stuff you don't think you need in Titanium Backup and then you can simply unfreeze if you see consequences.
Just reflash Pie KDZ in Dev Patched LGUP. You'll get everything back
ChazzMatt I was asking for this apk mainly LG MyPlaces Engine , because I dont want to reset or reflash ,
I only need overall the LG MyPlaces Engine apk from LG pie stock rom
anyone can help me ?

I'm not running Pie. Hope someone can give you the files.
But here are a couple of suggestions to try:
* If you have TWRP, dirty flash your variant's TWRP flashable zip and Magisk. This would not wipe data. It should merely re-install the firmware. Like if you were updating to a newer version of stock via TWRP flashable zip. The way we went from 20f to 20g to 20h. We didn't lose data unless we clean flashed (factory reset and wiped data). You would not be doing that.
* If you are not rooted and don't have TWRP, then flash the KDZ in UPDATE mode. This is like an OTA update. It sees what you don't have and installs it over what you do have. It does not wipe data.
If that doesn't work -- and if no one gives you the files -- then yeah, that's when you have to use Refurbish or Partition DL.
I backed up My Places, My Places Engine and LGMapUI using ES File Explorer. ZIP file attached. This is from US99830b.
If you physically removed them from system and know where to put them back, then this might work. Or not.
But if that's what you did, you'd have to be rooted, in which case you could just backup your data with TWRP (to be safe) and re-flash the ROM, as suggested by @ChazzMatt.
If you're NOT rooted, and merely uninstalled the apps for user 0 (which means the system files are still present) then you may (or may not) be able to reinstall them by running the apks from system.
Otherwise a Factory Reset will get them back. I can understand why you want to avoid that. LG Backup is your friend, it will save all app data and many system settings.
Good luck :fingers-crossed:
Edit: BTW I also removed those apps from my first V30 back in the days of Nougat (ADB uninstall from user 0) and my GPS continued to work. I think they're only needed for LG SmartSetting (now renamed Context Awareness).

Thank you by your explanation telling me this options .
Fortunately thanks to TheDannemand . he has saved me a lot of hassle
I have not been lucky. It has not let me install the My Places Engine apk
App installation failed. The package archive file is invalid
I guess I have no choice but to have to reflash

TheDannemand , So I don't know why it doesn't work well for me anymore. I test it with google maps. suddenly the circle of location moves to the same place , without I moved ( without a single step) . And the accuracy option mode in settings has disappeared in the configuration location of my lg v30 :/
Sorry to hear it didn't work. Maybe the apks are different if you're not on US99830b.
I guess you have to back up your data, then re-flash. If you have TWRP, it should be easy.
If not, then use LG Backup (in the settings menu) and save it off the phone. Then LGUP Update or Refurbish.
Again, good luck to you. Keep us posted :good:
