I have warranty but from shop they said that buttons working i don't now what to do pls for help.
You still have warranty from Samsung
Assuming its a T-Mobile S6, dial 611, complain about home button, they send you replacement device, you send old one back, enjoy the rest of your life.

Unless you crack your screen, loose it or get water damage within the first year you should always go through the manufacturer to get it fixed. Unless you are giving the store your phone back and getting a brand new one in return but I get the feeling the op is past being able to do that.

If this has been discussed, please pardon me.
If i purchased the G1 a few months ago, does it come with a 1 year warranty by default or was an insurance necessary?
I was told the latter by a friend of mine, but he seems to be a total newb at his g1, i cant trust him.
1yr through HTC, which TMo honors, I believe.

So if i call t-mobile and say.. I restarted my phone and an update notification came up, applied the update and phone didn't boot, would i get a replacement? I'm not a big fan of scratches and dents.

If you bought this phone through T-Mobile, then yes. This is commonly what people do when they have bricked their phone--I'm assuming you have.
Remember kids, it's Radio first then SPL!
And I would have to send the "bricked" phone back?
Comes with the warranty, but that only covers a faulty phone or parts I believe. With insurance you could purposely smash it with a hammer and it would be covered, after a deductible of course.

Well, duh. If they let you keep it every customer would call and say they had a broken phone just so they could get another one for free!
You will be sent what is called a 'shell' which is just the phone; No battery, back cover, sdcard, anything.
You replace your borked phone and ship them back the bricked 'shell'.
Why not call them now? Pop your fraudulently-bricked-phone-returned-under-warranty cherry.

LOL if I do call and have them send me the shell, I'll probably brick the thing on purpose.

Hey guys I'm new to android and I'll keep it short. I bought my Galaxy S about a month ago. It's unlocked and rooted and I also have the latest firmware update.
Ok so all I wanted to do was change the battery color from the stock blue to green. I downloaded Rom Manager and I also downloaded smooth-sense-1.0-Incredible-Stock-8-1 thinking that I could use it.
Well I flashed it with Rom manager and when my phone rebooted I was stuck on the samsung boot up screen. It plays the music but no animation. I've tried every single mention known to get it to boot into recovery mode. I've also tried to get into download mode with no sucess. My last option was to do a hard reset and when I tried that still a no go just stays at the boot screen wth the music.
Anything???? Is there a way to have it recognised thru usb so I can use ADB?
Thanks for your help
if you can get the 3 buttons Download Mode working
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S/GT-I9000
you can reflash the phone back to normal using Odin and a stock firmware
Thanks for the quick resonse. For some reason I cant get it to get into download mode thanks for the link as well I'm gonna check that out

that didn't work crap
I have a video of what it's doing but I can't upload it cause i'm new.
i'll take a guess
it's going into an endless loop of the white Galaxy S logo and back and logo and back?
if I hold the power button thats all it does. Logo to black to logo to black over and over.
yup, you got one that have the 3 buttons disabled.
you can try that crazy heating the phone method talked about on some other topic, and see if that works
but the best thing is to send it back to Bell to have it replaced
you can even print the facebook where Samsung confirmed the 3 button missing is a bug, and it needs to be fixed, so it's under warranty

The main problem is I bought the phone off someone thats on bell. I'm on telus and the phones unlocked. So I don't think I'll be able to send it to bell. I'm gonna try contacting samsung
is there a method to atleast get the USB to respond to my pc??? I hooked it up my laptop with XP and when the phone boots and I shut it off with power button with USB connected then my laptop detects USB device but I can't get access to it ADB
I'm lost I have a phone with 1 Year warranty thats garbage on top of that I'd be able to fix this problem but my phone had to be one of the phones with the buttons disabled crap.
Tried the Heat trick with blow dryer but nothing.
Update:
Bell doesn't want to fix it cause "I'm not a customer" and samsungs saying Bell has to cover they're warranty.
Don't know what to do. I posted a complaint with BBB (better, business, bureau) since none of them wanna fix a Defeactive phone should have got the HTC Desire or stuck with my BB at least your able to recover the phone your self
here's a quick video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPmHeJvlb-I
Is it possible to force the phone to be detected thru USB? Sometimes if I hold a certain sequence and it goes back to the charging screen my pc detects a USB device but when I try to connect via ADB I get nothing. Does the phone need to be fully booted for the usb to work?
Well i finally got my galaxy to work. Solution sent it to a company that fixes phones for bell and warranty covered it. All they had to do is reflash it and it works i also have recivery mode working too.
I had no receipt and i almost list hope so screw bell canada thanks for everyones help.

Do you know if they only deal with Canadian residents? If its not too much trouble to share the info it might help others who are getting the runaround with Bell for not being customers.
that does actually reminds me Samsung do have a phone and company name listing to do their repairs here in Canada
maybe they have a similar outsourced company in the USA to deal with the Samsung phone repairs.
call Samsung USA and ask for a repair place for the I9000 model
if you mention the i9000M they will send you to the Canadian Bell, since you sent it my way anyways, there is no need for that i guess, but it is still good to know
When I spoke with Samsung USA, they said they could only deal with phones being sold in the US. They asked for the model number before they could even get a service work put in. Warranty works a little different here than in Canada because I know that if you have a problem with a certain product, you can deal directly with the manufacturer instead of having to go through the place you bought it from directly. They recommend you go through them first, but you can bypass them without too much hassle.
Everyone I spoke to in Samsung Canada said the opposite. Deal with the carrier/store for three times before Samsung Canada can intervene. It would be nice to know which companies can run warranty work without having to wait those three times and not have to worry about a receipt and being a Bell customer considering that the phone does carry a 1 year warranty. I don't understand why Bell has to initiate it cause it makes it kinda pointless.
Company is called futuretel. Email them and explain what happen and that you need the phone serviced. If you have the bill for it even better but if you don't they'll repair it based on manufacturer date.
Don't believe what Samsung Canada says that they'll deal with it after 3 times. I called bell then samsung then bell then samsung US then Samsung Canada (which is in the US lol) maybe 10X I almost gave up and threw the phone out but they gave me the repair centres phone number which was a start.
Samsung US rep was 1000 times more helpful the the Canadian one even thou it was still american. They were willing to take back the phone opposed to "You have to deal with the Carrier" I was getting tired of hearing that.
Good Luck Guys

Thanks for the info. Could be useful for a lot of people.
I agree, the people at Samsung Canada weren't friendly at all. The staff I spoke to sounded like they were based in Texas and kept telling me to call Bell without even trying to help. Samsung USA staff was very friendly but couldn't help me cause they couldn't enter the i9000M model into their system. They did sound like they wanted to take the phone back cause of the situation I was in but just couldn't get past their system's restrictions of getting a work order in. The Samsung USA staff seemed like they were based in the Philippines.
Pulled the s-pen out and the button was missing (see pic)
Have no idea how i lost it and there is no damage.
Is this a known issue?
This should be a warranty replacement from Samsung or sprint, i would think
Going to sprint store in the morning where i bought it, 36 days ago, to see
what they say.
You probably applied too much pressure using ur finger nail on the edge of the button causing it to pop out and fall without you noticing, but as far as I've noticed the button is very sturdy so maybe it's the manufacturer's fault, hopefully they'll replace it for you
Same thing happened to me.. Pulled it out and the button was missing... No idea when or where it fell off... Sooo pissed right now.

I was able to pop mine out when doing the tap, tap, tap trick on a hard surface to fix the sensitive calibration problem. I can see it popping out if dropped or smacked just right. I did take off the cover prior to tweak the calibration and it might have weaken it but it holds.
try to waranty on samsung service center
Hasn't happen to me but I was recently using Sketchbook on my note 2 and notice that button has loosen a little since using the pen a lot.
i dropped it from probably 1 feet and the button came off , but later was able to find it in case if you find it you can snap back it on but its hard to find even when you know where you dropped it , samsung's flimsy quality
From the image, it looks like you have pried it out before?
As if you took a flat-head to it and cut into the case of the pen. If you are trying to get a warranty replacement, I wouldn't send this image. They'd probably shoot you down in seconds.
For everyone here that has had the button fall off at some point, have you taken the button off before?

in my case it went off after falling never tried to remove it deliberately , in case if you find it you can just snap it on
I went to verizon for same exact reason. They said to call Samsung because they have no
Replacements. I called Samsung and got the full run around. First guy told me to hard rest my phone. After 5 times
Of me strongly telling him to listen to me. I asked him why I was needing to reset my phone? Will my
Button magically re appear on my s pen? He said yes it will fix my issue by restiing the settings
To factory!!! I asked for a manager at that point. This new guy told me to mail in my pen for a.replacement.
I asked him why becaus its under warranty why verizon couldnt do it. He then said I would most
Likely not get a replacement because it would be listed as user
Breakage. I asked for a new manager and this guy flat out told me I would never see a
Warranty replacement on it because its an accessory to the phone and I would either
Be asked to pay $76.13 for labor or $30 to buy a new one. He also said I would not get my old one because they
Dont return broken items.
I asked him what good would it be for me to have 2 pens if I were trying to pull a fast one. He said I might be ambidextrous and use both
At the same time. At this point I wanted to jump through the phone and ring his neck. The entire time he was snifling like a tough guy saying he was sorry but was going to do nothing. Even though my phone is 6 weeks old to me..
Samsung has the worth CS. and can give a rats ass about you.
He then reminded me that on any samsung device. If a moveable part
Anywhere on a phone breaks or falls off it is automatically put in the system and user damaged and all warranties
Are gone for that replacement......
I am selling this device as soon as I can and will continue to tell my story on how bad they are and how they feel they can treat people.
That's a very interesting story, and the experiences I've had with a multitude a CS, it all comes down to the individual.
Keep calling and complaining, should have gotten a name or some forms of ID to report that imbecile.
Hahaha. If you want to see bad cs go call asus! Most anyone with a tf201 will know what I mean

Sorry for the bad typing. It was late and I was pissed....
I do have their names and will be pushing this up the chain as far as I can get it.
I got a hold of a Verizon rep and told him the situation and he too seemed annoyed that
Samsung said what they said. He offered to send me out a replacement S Pen and not just the button.
However, its color wont match my phone but at this point what can I do? I need my S Pen to function the way
I have become accustomed to.
It is a sad day when bigger companies hold you hostage like that. Telling me I will never see a replacement from them
Also if you own a Samsung device. Just know (according to the rep) any moving part on a samsung device. Buttons or home keys
S pens etc.. Should they lose that part even if it simply is defective will never be covered because they will deem it as user breakage.
I think this will be my last Samsung device. Not because it broke. Because the way they treat people. I had 3 reps back to back act like fools and
I just cant deal with that....
So what if the pen isnt under warranty. Just pay the $30 to replace your defective pen lol.

An exact replacement is all of 20 bucks on Amazon.
If you keep speaking to reps in absolutes of "you all are holding me hostage!!!111panic" you aren't going to get the best of responses.
If I were you I'd go ahead and buy a replacement, but also pursue this with other customer service reps through Verizon or whomever you purchased the phone through. But if this "will be your last Samsung device" then forget about pushing it.
Saw them for $10 - $15 for a new authentic OEM S Pen on eBay. Seriously, just buy one to put back in. Then get another pen. S Pen is horrible anyway. Luckily, I've horded a couple in each color just in case.
My HTC has major build quilty issues. The power button is flush with the top making turning on the phone annoying as hell and one side of the gaples construction has a huge gap on my screen! Ugggg. Can't trade it in at att since I'm pass 14 days and now its getting anoyying.
My question is... How is HTC with their warranty system? Do I just send my phone in to them? Are they good with sending me back a decent unit.. Will it be a new one or mine fixed? I don't see how they can open these phones without heat guns lol. And how long did it take?
Thanks guys!

AT&T will trade it out for you. You bought it from them so it goes back to them. You can send it to HTC but you will be without a phone for 10 days or longer. They are sending out replacement units I have not heard of them repairing a unit. But as I said if it's AT&T branded take it back to the store and get another one.

I would get a manager. They are responsible for the warranty for 1 years time. The gaps in the gapless construction is a warranty issue. You may need to just call into AT&T and they will get you a replacement sent to your house.
Have had three VS980 since Nov. 2013 ... One (100% stock) starts to develop some bad spots lately, generally in the "D" and "X" area.
Touching them registers different keys ("X" becomes "C" or "V" or "VC" ...). A factory-reset didnot help.
LG's repair-request webpage is crooked: entry fields are messed up, click "submit" just doesn't give any confirmation & just kicks out
to the beginning again.
Has anyone done RMA with LG ? Your experience, please. Thanks.
Send it in for a warranty replacement
I took mine to the verizon store, and after talking to them, and then some hassle on the phone, it sounds like they are going to overnight me a new phone, that I should be getting tomorrow. No extra warranty or insurance purchased through verizon just the standard 1yr mfr warranty and a factory reset before I went into the store
Verizon replaces phone without problem ...
The phone is 7+ month old ... no insurance ...
Call customer service (800-922-0204) got transferred to Tech (866-892-7957), on-hold awhile.
Easy replacement on the way (overnight $12.99, 2-day $6.99, 3-4 day is free). Free return label.
We have been with Verizon for 10+ yrs.
Thanks everyone.
Careful with verizon replacements, I had 5 consecutive bad phones in the service. Finally ended up just sending the certified phone from verizon to lg to be repaired. Check it carefully when you get it.

VZW CLNRs are garbage! I had 2 G2 replacements from Verizon and both had issues . Device #1 had 4-5 3-4 inch scratches on the screen that went back right away and my 2nd one had dead pixels in a more annoying location vs the phone I was trying to replace. Moral of the story is Verizon has bad replacements so I gave up.
I had a screen defect on my vzw G2 also - had an unresponsive band near the top of the screen (which I think is actually not too rare on this phone), sent it in for a warranty replacement and so far have had no issues with the new one (3 months). Now, reverting that phone back to stock so I could send it in under warranty was not fun, especially with an impaired touchscreen...

Do I need to return to stock for an insurance replacement of LG G2 by Asurion?
I'm going to be returning my G2 for the right side lines issue. I have to do it thru Asurion as I have no warranty on the phone. When sending back for a warranty claim, I can understand reverting to stock, but what about for an insurance claim? As far as they're concerned, they replace the phone if you drop and break it, so why would they care whether it's rooted?

Have you checked with Verizon to see if it's still under it's one year manufacturer's warranty? I believe it's one year from the time the phone was first activated. I got mine used on swappa in February, got the line issue last month, still got it replaced for free.
