My phone is a Rogers' phone version updated with lolipop 243. I am not with Rogers but with Videotron, everything work fine. What I like to know is what is the difference between this and the Customized US version. Is it a more generic firmware. I'd like to get rid of Company proprietary firmware. what is your suggestion for a 6906 ?

Hello guys,
I have the P990 bought from AT GSM in the US but i live im Brazil.
When i open the LG Update Software it show that my coutry is Brazil, so if i update the phone i will get updates from the US or from Brazil?
And if in case of updates from the US it would cause any problem with my network in Brazil?
LG Mobile update checks the IMEI of your phone, which is linked to the region in which it was originally sold/distributed - so if it's a phone from the US, the updater will install the latest US firmware.
If you're currently running the original stock US firmware, and there are no issues with your network, then the updated US firmware should work just as well.
I've just come from two very different linux based devices (Nokia N900 and N9) to the android wagon. I'm very interested in flashing the ROM on my handset however I have an Australian variant locked to Telstra. I can confirm it is a UL model with model code 801S. Is there any reason I can't flash this with a custom firmware?

I'm s-off/supercid on a TMOUS One, and running the latest sense Insertcoin with latest international firmware that came with it.
TMOUS released new firmware/radio that apparently gives an LTE performance boost. I flashed just the radio, but haven't seen much improvement, while my girlfriend took the OTA and gets a few more MBPS than I do in the same location.
Since I'm already on a 'higher' firmware / android version, can I even flash a 'lower' firmware? If so, do I have to stop using Insertcoin since it's 4.2.2 and the TMOUS RUU is 4.1.2?
I've been watching the market for a decently priced 32gb version of the Moto X for use on any of the ATT MVNOs (ST/net10/AIO/Red Pocket/GoPhone) and I'm wondering what the experiential difference is between the Dev version and the ATT. Is there bloatware on the ATT model vs the Dev? Does the ATT model receive updates around the same time as the Dev. version? I'm gonna need the 32gb model no matter which I choose.
I know the bootloader is locked on the ATT version, but both can be rooted. I don't care about kernels or roms on this phone; just want to root and install Motoexposed or something like that. I presume I'm going to need the phone (if I can an ATT model) unlocked for use on the MVNOs? Not sure on that one.
Cheers!
Greetings pals.
I've got a question. A friend of mine got a brand new (unlocked-no carrier) 626s a while ago. He is stuck in Lollipop and wants to upgrade to Marshmallow. The device was acquired in Colombia (South America). Oficially there is no Latam ROM so the only options are the carrier made ROM's for the US (Metro PCS, Sprint and T-Mobile). Is it possible to flash any of these ROM's without having issues such as lost of 4G connectivity, bad battery life and stuff? Thanks in advance.
