Boot delay due to encryption - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone experience a boot delay due to encryption on Verizon Moto X running 5.0?
My boot time went from about 30-45 seconds to over 2 minutes.

@grubber24 recently performed encryption, he may update on this.

Yes i encrypted my phone. But there are no lags and delays whatsoever. Neither during boot nor during normal operations. Its as smooth as before.
I love Stock Android on the Moto X 2014 ?

Noob here. Is there a way to root my moto x on 4.4 kitkat without erasing everything and/or going back to 4.2?
Way more information is required to answer that.
But there are threads already...lots...covering the different ways...depending on your situation.

what variant do you have?
if it is one that we can unlocked the bootloader then yes we can root your device without wiping everything.

you can't unlock your bootloader so you would have to return to 4.2.2 camera update and use slapmymoto

[Q] Moto X Dev Ed. Does 4.4.2 Root Still Turn on Write Protection?

Or is this not an issue with the Dev Edition? I don't want to loose root when I power off my phone. Thanks!
You have an unlocked bootloader I assume? So write protection will be off on any Android version. Just like any unlocked moto x. ?

No once you do an authorized unlock you are in control. Same for any unauthorized, as all reports have ever indicated. Would Moto ever want the flack from such a move?

In your title you put moto x gen 2. Which this thread is for moto x gen1. If the OTA bricked your phone I would guess you had miss matched partitions and probably something you did prior to the OTA. Hope it was a Dev edition since you said your bootloader was unlocked. Only Dev editions are covered by warranty with unlocked boot loader s.

AT&T Moto X 2014 on 5.0.1 Could I downgrade and unlock?

I got a fresh Moto X from AT&T with 5.0.1 on it and was wondering if I can downgrade and unlock? Every android I had I enjoyed the comfort of unlocking and rooting. I need that again.

You can't unlock the bootloader of an AT&T Moto X 2014 no matter what version of Android you are running. You need to sell it and buy the Pure Edition if you want to unlock the bootloader.
