Dear All,
My name is Gerald and until a few weeks before I was proudly user of a HTC M7.
The HTC was a SIM locked version and I gave it to someone to unlock it to use it with the new provider I choose recently.
As you have already figured out I am not an English native speaker, I apologize for my bad English. I hope it´s understandable what I try to ask .
The new provider launched the update to new Android version 5 and I have tried to update.
After downloading the update and trying to install it the boot menu appears and whatever I am choosing there it gave me an error.
So I decided not to install it and deleted the update files.
Since than a lot of apps are not working anymore (it appears f.e. “mail the process has stopped”). Cleaning the cache and so on, soft reset, hard reset nothing worked.
What I have to do that the phone is back to proper working condition?
I add a picture of the boot loader as well as a pic of the error.
Thanks for any help!!!

Did you try a factory reset?
You could also restore your phone using the 6.14.111.2 ruu then you should also be able to update without any problems. Backup your important files before attempting a factory reset or before flashing the RUU.
Thank you for your reply;
I tried the factory reset but than I get in the bootloader the additional Information *****security warning****, see the pic in the annex....
I will try the link you posted - the sim will remain unlocked or would this also be changed?
Thanks alot!

sim will remain unlocked, the ruu won't fash anything on the partition where sim lock/unlock status is stored.

Hello Guys,
I have HTC HD7 which I have bought from o2, so it is branded to o2. Recently my volume button on the side of the phone has become loose therefore I have phoned up o2 and I asked them to fix it. So they told me to post the phone back to them. Before that I make sure I have backup of my phone so I can always revert it (in zune-> settings -> update -> I have restore point of 27th of July). When I was sending my phone I have a mango beta build on my phone as I registered as developer with Microsoft.
When I got back my phone the volume button it's "fixed", its still loose maybe 3% less... so pretty much the same problem but my phone has been flashed and I have this default o2 ROM. So I though I will restore my backup... but it doesn't work firstly it gets stuck at 0% for ages then it reboots... gets stuck at 0% and after 15 minutes it give me following error: 801812e0.
I have googled the problem there are few "solution" but I cannot get it fix...
I have tried flashing the rom but I cannot find vaild rom which will work on my HTC HD7 (I get error invalid vender id).
Please could you give me any help I will be greatful.

Have you tried just checking if there is an update available via Zune without the restore bit?
Try a reset
or see if you can upgrade to mango again and then try your restore
But wouldn't upgrading my phone now over write the backup which has been taken before last upgrade before repair ?

if your zune shows your back up then go to the USER (your name)/appdata/microsoft/windows phone update and save a copy on another PC or something...
and when you are in mango beta copy this file back to your appdata.. and restore...
this is the error i am getting

the user in that thread says he was able to fix it but it need hard reset

Hello, did anyone find a solution to this problem ?
Microsoft said it's ROM related but no specific answer from their support, because they dont support rom updates and I should talk to Nokia.
I bought a Nokia Lumia 800 phone about a month ago and loving it. it came with firmware version 7740.11451
Made a backup and restores worked good.
Then I installed the 8107 update with the cab sender.
Made a backup. all was fine at this point.
Yesterday, I installed the 11501 update using the NCS 5 refurbrish function, knowing that I could restore my backup and all my SMS's will be there as they are deleted by the refurbrish command.
The rom flash to 11501 was OK but now I cant restore my backup.
I can flash other older rom versions, but when I try to restore my working backups I get this error (serial and name erased intentionally):

I tried flashing all the roms from NaviFirm that work for my device but the backups wouldnt restore.
Does a refurbrish command disable the ability to restore to the same phone?
Maybe the fact it's developer unlocked affects it ?
Does anyone have any idea what is verified and why it doesnt work ?
Thanks,
Ran.
Hi,
I know there are questions around how to identify whether my device is rooted, unfortunately have still been unable to determine, mainly because the language of the phone is Taiwanese. I want to install stock HTC One version (English) and have tried various steps to do it.
Have tried the following using help from Google, would appreciate if someone can help me.
1. I bought the phone second hand, the person told me it is a Chinese version however when i searched through forums - it says the chinese version has dual sim. The one i am holding is single sim (micro) , so don't think it is Chinese. The closest i thought would be Taiwanese model.
2. The phone does not have blinkfeed or any of the other features offered by HTC Sense. I tried to go to settings, saw what the original screens look like from web, and i think i don't have the stock HTC One Android version (Just a hunch)
The About phone section shows the following:
Model Number:
HTC_One
Android Version
4.2.1
Kernel Version 3.4.5
[email protected]
3. On searching forums, i found that i can unboot by downloading the correct ROM.
To download it, i needed CID and Model Number. The model number HTC_One did not have any match. For CID, i booted the phone in bootloader mode (power + Volume down). Now, that started the phone in different language (Taiwanese / Chinese - Not sure).
I was not able to understand anything, just scrolled to the last option and pressed the power off button. Next time, it did boot with normal mode so that helped.
Now, i am still clueless as to what to do. I just want either HTC One original factory ROM or Google Play ROM in English on my phone.
Can anyone help me? Probably the best way is to first be sure whether my phone is actually rooted or am i just overanalyzing.
Im sorry to say but thats a fake. you have the same kernel version as the one posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257077
hey,
i am new to xda and it was necessary to join now after i got my used htc one two days back. i have successfully rooted the phone which was originally on Android 4.1.2 and i updated it to 4.2.2. I had a problem since i bought the phone, the brightness level of the phone does not seem to change at all and is set at higher than i would have wanted. drains my battery in a second. in setting when i move the brightness slider or set it to auto the phones just like it never heard me lol i expected this to fix up once i updated but this did not happen either. Highly disappointed PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! i have a few problems with my eyes and the high brightness set on my phone is not very helpful. otherwise htc one is number one for sure
Thanks
I recommend you post in the thread of the rom you have put on the phone
you would need to give info on
rom version
HBOOT version
recovery version
radio version
cid number
If it was a "clean" or "dirty" install
have you performed a "wipe"
and other info that may be relevant

Dear XDA I9070 experts I really need some help here.
First I want to apologize if I have some errors, my english is not very good, so sorry about that, I will try to do my best to explain and give the best background information if anyone can help me.
My actual phone is an Motorola Atrix 2, and I have flashed roms several times following the procedures explained on the threads here in this awesome site XDA step by step. So being able to flash roms with no problem at all I tried to do the same on my wifes old Samsung I9070.
I followed a thread that explained how to flash a ROM from GB to Kit Kat for the I9070 step by step here on XDA. The thread is this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198341
It all went fine but being that the phone was not being used by anybody I forgot to insert a SIM CARD before the flashing procedure. I really don't know if that makes a difference, but when the mobile booted the first time after the ROM flashing I inserted my SIM card and to my surprise I didnt recognized it... booted the phone again several times and nothing, but the SIM card is being detected right away on my Motorola.
So I tried to do some research about that and some people suggested to go back to stock firmware, and others told that it was a problem with the EFS folder.
So I tried going back to stock JB with ODIN, but this time with the SIM CARD inserted, and nothing, the same problem. So I tried inspecting the EFS folder and I think that is the problem but I need some advice on this.
The EFS FOLDER has this content:
A bunch of files named CRYPTPROP...
DECRYPT_KEY
ESSIV
GUARDFIL
NV.LOG
NV_DATA.BIN.MD5
And some folders inside... Thats all. I didnt made any backups of the phone or the EFS folder
So I tried using the code *#06# and it gives a valid IMEI 3544******* etc
I really don't know how the phone still shows a valid IMEI with the file NV_DATA.BIN missing, so I checked the phone information and found this:
Inside SETTINGS:
MODEL NUMBER: GT-I9070
ANDROID VERSION: 4.1.2
BASEBAND VERSION: I9070XXLQL
KERNEL VERSION: 3.0.31 - 1485715
BUILD NUMBER: JZO54K.I9070XXLQL
Inside SETTINGS - STATUS:
NETWORK: UNKNOWN
SERVICE STATE: OUT OF SERVICE
MOBILE NETWORK STATE: DISCONNECTED
MY PHONE NUMBER: UNKNOWN
IMEI: 3544******
Maybe the EFS folder is not all bad, I really dont know, please I need some advice here. My motorola screen is dying and I need to recover this one as it is a good phone. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you Flo0008 for you help... I used a firmware from Sammobile... this one exactly I9070XXLQL_I9070ITVLQ5_ITV as it was one of the more recent ones.
By the way I'm from Venezuela, but I bought the phone new and unlocked from amazon, the phone is in mint condition and my wife used it for more than a year without any problems, also we use the same carrier... it was not used anymore since December 2013 and recently I charged it for a full battery and did the firmware flashing and since then I'm facing the No SIM card, Insert SIM card message.
Could it be the firmware I selected I9070XXLQL_I9070ITVLQ5_ITV the problem?... It's from Italy... maybe you can recommend using another one.
Thanks in advance!
I had similar situation once when I tried different SIM card. My solution was to put SIM a bit twisted into its bed.
[\] instead of [|].
It took few tries but finally it got detected and working.
Sent from my SGS Adv. using xda-developers app.
most likely your phone was *not* SIM unlocked before you flashed it: I did the same thing to mine and read many similar stories here and there.
I never found a solution and bricked my phone while trying to fix it. I went up to copiing a full ROM dump from another working 9070P: the copy succeded and phone worked (IMEI cloned etc...) but still no SIM card recognized (it was a spare free one so not a problem
If I manage to achieve my unbrick procedure (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701363), we might be able to fix that by reseting the full ROM to a valid state.
Facing the No Sim issues
i am facing the same problem, and it was all of a sudden."No SIM"
I sent the phone to service center, but they failed to repair.
i have tried everything, hard reset, downgrade to GB, upgrading again to JB (via ODIN), custom ROMs, but no luck.
what i figured out is my phone works on some older SIM cards, which have square shaped Chip (like the one in BSNL sim).
any suggestions????
So trying to put CyanogenMod onto my phone, I haven't been able to use it for a while because all I had was a black screen. Late last year, I manage to get it up and running again. Everything worked fine until an hour after flashing the stock ROM onto my phone, the connection to the Mobile network disappears. I flash the phone again and the mobile network connection is only temporary. Anywhere between 20 mins to 3 hours. The phone can't scan for any mobile networks at all. Everything else seems to work fine but what's the point of a phone that doesn't make calls?
Any ideas or additional information you guys need to get this cellular-less cellphone working again?

A few days ago I replaced the chip with the speaker, radio and antenas on it ( 13 $ from china ).

You both try first to restore TA and relock your phone. then reflash stock .157 FTF. Or maybe, flash a custom kernel that match to the current FW you are running. if it is based on .157, look for custom kernel that runs at .157
yes, dear tried all the flashing, TA and custom kernel crap. got fed up with it already
I never went outside stock firmware, tho. I saw that OP was trying CM before it happened.
and my phone used to be carrier locked, but I unlocked it with a code about 2 years ago. Could that be acting up? I am not familiar with the low-level stuff
Yep... I did all that flashing too. All started with that failed CM flash.
Sounds like a failed modem flash or baseband

Normally it would, if you choose a Pure Stock (with no additional stuffs). i experience it also one time. I was on LB then installed the ParanoidAndroid (CM Based ROM) then i lose my network. i just relock my BL, flash the custom kernel.

Hey man, sorry i forgot to read my own comment about flashing the FTF. Can you try to insert another SIM in your phone? or inserting your SIM to another phone? (Maybe your network provider has the problem?) Have you tried also using the PC Companion? or the Flashtool for Xperia? though you need to unlock your phone if your gonna use the Flashtool for Xperia, but you can relock it later.
Let's try to do anything we can do before you let go some of your cash.

Good ideas, bro Sadly i tried all of them ( except Flashtool for Xperia, since my bootloader is not unlockable ). Several SIM cards, various operators in 2 countries. As I mentioned in my first post, I even went as far as ordering a new radio unit ( a chip that houses the speaker and radio + two antenas ) and swapping it in. Did all possible factory resets. retored TA ( even tho my IMEI and Baseband show up ok ).
2 years ago when I had to carrier unlock my phone, I did it with a code and it worked alright for a very long time. This is the only thing I can think of that might be wrong with it, but I tried a SIM card from the operator it was originally locked for and its the same.
It detects the SIM card, it scans for networks normally, but when I try to connect manually to a network it says "unable to connect to network, check if sim card is in or you are allowed bla bla" . Automatic network selection gives no result
