Will it come still loaded with KitKat 4.4.2? Or will it come with lollipop? I ordered it off Amazon. And I don't have a computer so can it be rooted with just an app on both KitKat and lollipop software versions? Or do I need to root before updating to 5.0? Please help someone. Thanks

Yeah, just use the LG One Click Root, works on the L90. I just rooted my nephew's T-Mobile L90 with it. Make sure to enable developer mode and enable usb debugging. Also, will not work on an encrypted phone-- you have to decrypt before using the tool. link http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
If you still need help check my guide out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/root-lg-optimus-l90-44-2-5-0-2-android-t3110257 You can do it with just your phone. It says at bottom of page.

First off let me say thanks for reading my question.
I am an HTC One M8 guy myself. However, my daughter has the G Flex from T-Mobile. She has fallen in love with some of the XPosed framework modules. Does the G Flex support XPosed framework? I told her I would root her Flex and put the frameworks on her phone but I wanted to make sure it supports that app before I root it.
Thanks again!
Yes works fine

Hi, i have a flex D955 as well running 4.4.2 and i wanted to root it. But on the IORoot it says only 4.2.2 is supported. And on YouTube i found an app called Towelroot or something like that.
On my Galaxy S3 i'm running Xposed and root was no problem.
How did you get rooted? And can you switch to ART with Xposed? On S3 custom rom it was not possible.
Thanks for your answer in advance.

Just one more 'stupid' question. Is there a way to unroot my phone just in case i need to send it to repair.

All these questions have been answered in tons of the g flex forums. Probably could answer most of them with just the titles of the threads on XDA.

yes, there is an LG flash tool you will find lots of places and lots of references to throughout the Flex forums.
you use it to flash your original firmware, if you want to bother "restoring it" back to stock for some reason..

Haven't tried this myself (already unlocked)
Supposedly this method will work on kitkat 4.4.2, and will allow the use of motopocalypse

Nope. You'll have to update to 4.4.2 in order to perform the unlock

However, once unlocked on 4.4.2, you can freely downgrade back to 4.1.2 and have an unlocked bootloader as well

Downgrading your security version will brick your device, so I wouldent suggest it.
However, you can use AOSP 4.1.2 with it.

Then just don't flash the security component. Just do System and I think boot? I'd have to check mine, but I went from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2 and back to 4.4.2 again. It can be done if you are careful

If you update everything to 4.2.2, unlock, then flash your modem, kernel and system to 4.1.2 you might have success.

The XT907 is surprisingly capable for its age.
Hoping that Verizon launches an LTE variant of the Moto G. It's a worthy successor to the RAZR M.
was this thread really necessary? the page u linked to links to a thread on xda in the razr m general section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783912
Unlocked it the first chance I got but for some reason the custom recovery won't work. However, if you guys got it working on your phones, mind if you can toss me the rope, so I can fix it.

I was recently rooted the latest version of Android with towel root, when I decided to restore my device. I then updated my device with the LG mobile support tool. I then tried to reroot it using towel root again. The app then said my device was not supported. I have tried using the modstring but I can't get anything to work. Please help

What is your software version? If it's V10E, there is no root exploit available. Only fix for that is to downgrade to V10C then re-root. If still on V10C, I'd suggest trying PurpleDrake to root it since TowelRoot doesn't seem to be working.

Okay, so I've searched and searched and haven't found an answer for this. I have a galaxy s5 I bought from att a while back, I have since unlocked it and switched to t mobile. I'm needing to root it but after I roll back the update with odin (?) then will I be able to upgrade again with the same process? Or is this cross platform fubar not going to work? I need to get my native tethering to work. Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Well for starters, a little more info about the phone would be helpful. What are you currently running, firmware version etc.
Looks like 4.4.2 and it's a g900a. It's also been Sim unlocked and the IMEI had been swapped. But everything else is from the factory AT&T.

Read step 5 in the OP you'll see "towel root" that's how you root 4.4.2
Towelroot will work if the kernel is 22 Jul 2014? I though there was a cut off?

If your on 4.4.2 then towel root should work. If it don't then just download the NCE downgrade file from the OP of that same thread and flash using the AP slot in odin 3.09 then use towel root again. I have used that downgrade file and total root numerous times. If your on 5.0 them don't use any of it as it will not work.

This is the towel root file that i use. There was like 3 different versions.

Sort of related, but I have an S5 on 4.4.4. I know I will need to downgrade temporally to perform the rooting process (no big deal, I had to do manual tweaking on my DROID 4 during its rooting process), but at this time my phone is unlocked (g900a). Will the process listed in muniz_ri's tutorial ruin the phone's unlocked state? I've never dealt with GSM stuff so this is all new to me.
