Yep, already.
I was playing around with the developer options and clicked the "Enable OEM Unlock" by mistake. BIG mistake. Now I'm getting a Status 7 when trying to sideload the 5.1 OTA and it wont let me downgrade to any of the images out there for the XT1096 as they're all older than the 5.1 update I was on.
The phone is complaining that "/system/priv-app/talkback/arm/talkback.odex" has unexpected contents
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

There is no 5.1 factory image for xt1096 yet. Verizon is testing 5.1, it has not been released yet.

Yeah, obviously I was one of those testing it. And VZ doesn't release images for their phones, and Moto is saying to contact VZ. So I'm posting here to see if someone can use their phone that's already on 5.1 and create an image package.
I don't know if this can be done but if it can be, someone here can do it!

I updated to 4.4.2 on my Verizon Developer Edition today and now I'm having issues updating Cloud Print. The Play Store keeps telling me that the package wasn't signed correctly. Do I have any other options besides rooting, uninstalling and then reinstalling it, because it's a system app? Any clues would be really appreciated. I'd post an image, but I'm too new of a user to link to one.

I recommend the basics. Going to the settings and clearing the app cache for the play store, try factory reset (yeah i know it sucks) try downloading the app again on wifi on LTE, etc. etc.

I've tried all of it and can't seem to sort it out. Think I'll just leave it alone, seeing as I've yet to print from any if my mobile devices. I did apply the update myself and I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
If you applied 4.4.2 from the files available here at XDA unfortunately you don't have the equivalent to a true OTA. The Cloud Print included with it had been modified and you will not be able to update it unless you root, delete it and reinstall it from the play store. The full image file from droid-developers.org has the exact same issue. Very frustrating punishment for those of us who weren't patient enough to wait for the OTA.

Alright I figured it had something to do with the fact I installed it from Zip instead of waiting for the OTA. I tried that solution and that didn't work either. When I installed it with root and the tried to install from the Play Store, it just told me "Invalid Package." So I'll wait a little while, until it's solidly rolled out and then go back to 4.4 and then flash the OTA the official way. Thanks for the confirmation on the Zip being the issue. Not having any other issues though, so I might just stick it out.

Well you must have manually flashed 4.4 without the 4.4 bootloader then, because RSD wont allow you to flash from 4.4.2 down to 4.4.
Be careful because if you take an update while back on 4.4 you will hard brick your phone.

Yeah that's exactly what I did, that's a good point. So should I wait for Motorola to post the recovery files, and then flash that when it comes out? Would that be safer?
Hi,
I've recently received the OTA update notification for my Moto X (telcel, Mexico) to android 4.4.4. I would like to have the package in case I ever need to go back to stock, and since sbf droid appears to be down for now, I can't think of where I could get this image.
I tried dumping a logcat but I can't seem to locate the download link, I was wondering if anyone with more experience on the matter could help me out getting the firmware image.
I'm attaching the logcat file.
Thanks for you time reading this / helping me out!
The link probably won't show up in logcat until you're actually downloading the update. Also, the OTA is only a diff from whatever you're on now to 4.4.4, it isn't a full flashable image.

That makes sense since the download was on the small side. I guess then there's really not much holding me back from rooting now.
Thanks!
Got my mom a Moto G for Christmas and I'm trying to get it to lollipop before I give it to her. I found the 1064 image. But it doesn't seem to want to flash. It gives a software error. Photo linked

"Praise Jah" YOU people.!
Same exact issue as OP... bought Moto G 2014 for mom for X-mas, toying with it today and it thinks it is up to date.. try to sideload like OP and get the exact same error... my guess is update is for version 21.11.17 and the phone came with 21.11.23 preinstalled. Maybe needs a cell network to realize it needs it? (I don't have a SIM in it, it is going to replace mom's current phone & number). OP did you put a SIM in yours? (even though that shouldn't matter...)
XT-1063 from the 149.99 Amazon Sale here too.
I get this when sideloading update:
Package expects build fingerprint of motorola/titan_retuglb/titan_umts:4.4.4/KXB21.85-17/14:user/release-keys or motorola/titan_retuglb/titan_umts:5.0/LXB22.39-6:user/release-keys; this device has motorola/titan_retuglb/titan_umts:4.4.4/KXB21.85-23/21:u Installation aborted.

Yes. It's active and all is well. Minus the ota of course.
I saw a thread on reddit where the update was put on hold due to a memory leak. Not sure how accurate that is but would line up with reports of a second OTA received by some users after the main lollipop update. Hopefully they'll get it out before Xmas.
I'm giving my moms to her on the 19th
Yeah i'm in the same boat. The ota's you can sideload are for firmware 21.11.17 and my phone's firmware is 21.11.23. The only solution I found was to follow this guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...dows-tool-moto-g-2014-xt1064-restore-t2957167. Basically you unlock bootloader, restore to stock 4.4.4. (with the 21.11.17 version), then you sideload the lollipop ota. It's too much of a hassle so I'll just wait.
Anyone in here got the OTA?
Still waiting for it.
Customer support claimed they are only in soak testing at the moment, i am sure 5.0.1 will drop soon like all the other lollipop updates.
But I have a 5.0 update image?
Still waiting for 1068
Just got my Moto G and checking obsessively every few hours for the OTA update to Lollipop. Hurry, Moto, hurry!

Yeah, I did more research and saw some messages from people who had called Motorola to say that it's not coming until late December or January.

Hi all
I flashed the factory files for my Nexus 6 the other day, bringing my phone from LMY47D to LMY47E. I was having some trouble with the whole file, so I flashed the individual .img files as I had read in some instructions. Everything is working, and everything is in order. My question is, do you think I will have any problems with any OTA updates going forward? Like if they send out an update for LMY47I or 5.1.1? Just curious if people have had problems, thanks!

All factory images should ultimately take OTA without problem. HOWEVER, you probably shouldn't, since whatever hacks you have installed will be reset, including no-encrypt. I.e., when the OTA reboots, it will automatically begin encryption.

If you are currently on 5.1, do not revert. If you go backward on bootloader, and eventually decide to upgrade again and take the OTA, you will brick your device. It's better to wait for the Dev to get Xposed working for 5.1.

OK.... Thanks for saving me from making a very big mistake!
Hello guys. Just bought 2 days a go a new Nexus 6. Blue with 32Gb, unlocked.
Tottaly sealed, broke the seal myself, straight from Google.
But the phone says it is updated, and finds no new update. Im on LMY47D with Android 5.1 and I dont even receive 5.1.1
Tried factory reset without SIM Card, cleaning Framework and reboot without card, everything. To no avail.
Any idea what is going on? Shouldnt I get at least Android 5.1.1?
PS: I know I can sideload it, but still, something is clearly wrong, and I would like very much to sort it out.
Thank you very much.
Same issue here. Only I'm on 5.0 and can't find any update and I would prefer to not sideload already.
if you want your phone to check for an update, you have to be on WiFi. if in youre on network instead, itll always say up to date.
I'm on wifi. It still shows no update.
Same situation, on Wifi offcourse.

Try a factory reset, then remove your carrier SIM and power up on WiFi. My bet is that your N6 will start churning through OTAs in sequence. Not sure that you will get all the way to Marshmallow 6.0, because that last OTA is still being rolled out.
Already did it... waste of time, no updates
If your not willing to simply download and flash the images from googles website, that is your choice... but there is nothing to do but wait.
Hi Guys I am in the same boat, brand new n6 on 5.0.1 and saying up todate . In uk and carrier is Virgin if that helps.
Mal
Something strange is definately happening with Google update servers...
same dilemma and same version as op..
Personally I was like you all. I got my nice shiny new n6 from verizon (free upgrade...) Got it home kept pressing check for updates. Tried all the clearing app data from frameworks and all that.
But in the end I sideloaded it. I documented it over on the OTA url post. It is not that hard, just need some time. If you don't want to wait it might be your only option.
Total time invested was probably 1.5 hours. Downloaded all the files to my laptop and started using WUGFresh.
Stop waiting and update manually? It's not difficult, you can even save your userdata by not flashing it. There are different (and possibly easier) ways to install an update other than sideloading. especially when you can skip all the OTAs and flash directly to 6.0.
No need for a tool kit and it won't take much longer than the time it takes for you to download the factory image and extract the files.
The point is that there might be something wrong with Google's OTA servers.
Or maybe something is wrong about these phones ?
Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
Thats my point exactly. What if theres something wrong with the phone?
Google should clarify why old updates are not being delivered... not even questioning 6.0, but 5.1.1
same issue on new nexus 6 of my girlfriend. I manually sideloaded up to 5.1.1 (it's the international version) and now she's waiting for 6.0

Why is Google not delivering OTA updates to these N6 owners ?
Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
Because there were a couple of security updates between 5.1.1 and 6.0 (as far AS I remember on my N6) and because I want to be sure OTA works!
This issue is becoming more and more coomon. Lot's of people complaining on several forums about this issue.
At least its easy to see something is clearly wrong with the OTA's, since no one is getting any. There is people stuck on 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.1, etc whichever came preinstalled stays without updates.
