[Q] Which root to use? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I purchased my Note 4 from T-mobile and few month after I switched to AT&T. So T-mobile ended up unlocking my phone once it waspaid off. I was wondering which root to use since this is a T-mobile phone but its unlocked and I am currently using AT&T service. T-Mobile root, AT&T root or possibly some other root?

Just search for att in this forum or tmobile in the att note 4 forum

How to enable AWS band on rogers N900W8?

Has anyone been able to unlock their Galaxy note 3 to work with Wind/Mobilicity AWS bands? I unlocked my rogers S4 using this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291589) but haven't seen one for Note 3 yet. I checked locally and there is someone claiming it can be done - http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-...-WIND-AWS-W0QQAdIdZ519994313QQfeaturedAdZtrue
October 17th update - any canadian version of the note 3 will work on all carriers as long as the phone is unlocked.
I'm pretty sure you just need to wait for someone to rip the file off the T-Mobile version, since it's confirmed the Tmo version Note 3 will get LTE bands on ATT as well as Tmo.
I also did the AWS unlock on my At&t S4 and can confirm that it does in fact get LTE on TMO, I had a TMO sim and tried.
This time around I just bought the tmo note 3 and going to sim unlock it for At&t
Does the AT&T support AWs?? I really want to download this hack so I can get this phone to 110% lol

I bought unlocked and tested with wind. Takes a few minutes but works out of box no issues.

[Q] Moving from Tmobile to ATT, should I root before I go?

As the title says, I am getting ready to change providers, moving from T-mobile to ATT. Currently I have the 32 gig Tmobile version, pretty sure the move to ATT will be seamless, as the Moto X is unlocked already..Currently, i have not unlocked the bootloader yet, but plan on doing so... Would there be any issues that I am not aware of if I unlock and root AFTER i switch to ATT? Or should i root prior to moving to AT&T?

Using T-Mobile Variant on AT&T

Hey guys,
I know there are a few threads that contain bits and pieces about using a T-mobile variant with an At&t sim card so was just hoping for some straight answers.
a) does at&t service work correctly when using a tmobile variant of the galaxy s6 (g920t)?
b) if you're already doing this, how did you go about sim-unlocking the phone
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!
Currently using my T-Mobile 920t on att with no issues, everything works and now don't have to deal with dropped calls. I unlocked it by using the tmobile unlock app so unless you are a T-Mobile customer for 40 days you will probably have to use the metro pcs firmware method and buy an unlock code from a third party.

Flashing T-Mobile ROM on Verizon Note 5

Is this possible? I purchased a Verizon note 5 from BestBuy with their 200 dollar trade in deal, plus I had gift cards, they don't sell T-Mobile. So I'm using the Verizon Note on the T-Mobile network right now. I'm wanting to flash a completely stock T-Mobile ROM so I can access T-Mobiles new Advanced Messaging and Video Calls. I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Thank you!
Verizon has a locked bootloader that cant be unlocked or rooted. Won't work.

Flashing AT&T firmware to an unlocked T-Mobile Galaxy S8

OK guys, somewhat of a newbie, so try and give me a break. I am looking to upgrade to a Galaxy S8 and came across an unlocked T-Mobile S8. Can I flash the AT&T firmware to this phone? If I run the T-Mobile firmware on the AT&T network, I assume I won't get any updates? What about the radios? I know both are GSM networks and with both the AT&T and T-Mobile S8 sharing the same model number, I assume this won't be a problem.
Anyway, any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks!!!

I believe if it's unlocked from t-mobile, all you have to do is put your sim in it. Given they are both GSM and all the relevant info is stored on sim card and not the phone

you will still get updates from t-mobile. i am using a note 4 unlocked from tmobile on at&t for about a year, getting my s8+ tomorrow actually. the only thing you have to do is add at&t apn settings which are easy to find if you google. i would like to know if its possible to flash another carrier and then flash back to the phone's original carrier tho
