I've been using my HTC Rapid Charger Quick Charge 2.0 with my new Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet and it charges in just under 3 hours for a 0 to 100% charge.
Not sure what the standard charge time is with the stock charger, since I haven't even taken it out of the box Just easier for me to use the same charge and cable to charge both my phone and tablet. Has anyone else measured that?
My HTC One M8 usually gets quite hot during quick charging, but didn't notice the same thing with the Z2. It only went up to around 35 degrees at the highest, for a short while.
I need 4.5 hours with stock charger (15% to 100%).

So 2.0 quick charging is working?
Do you really get 60% in first 30 minutes with HTC charger?
Yes, it's listed here:
https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/devices/all?feature=Quick Charge 2.0
Does anybody know where to buy a quickcharge 2.0 charger with a euro plug?

No, those 60% in 30 mins is claimed with a much smaller phone battery..not with our 6000 mAh tablet battery. On my HTC One M8, it gets to about 50% in 30 mins.

Are you from Denmark? I bought mine from here: http://www.mytrendyphone.dk/shop/htc-tc-p1000-164522p.html
Not the cheapest option, but the only one with euro plug that i could find.
got official answer:
Thank you for contacting Sony Xperia Support.
To be able to utilise the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, the smartphone or tablet as well as the charger need to support Quick Charge 2.0. If you want to use a magnetic charging dock, this must also support Quick Charge 2.0.
Currently, there are no original Sony chargers that support the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology. This means that, at present, you cannot charge Xperia™ devices using original Sony chargers utilising Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.
However, some Xperia™ devices and magnetic charging docks are prepared for and support the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology. Again, as there is currently no original Sony charger that supports Quick charge 2.0, these devices cannot utilise Quick Charge 2.0 using an original Sony charger.
Regarding the charge time, according to our environmental declaration a full charge takes 5.8 hours while the tablet is turned off.

Wow, a normal full charge takes 5.8 hours? Even with tablet off..that sounds a bit crazy. Then im definitely glad i'm using the Quickcharger and getting it done in half that time..even with the tablet powered on.
As for the magnetic charger, it has been confirmed in other Xperia forums that Sony's dock and magnet supports Quickcharging, but most 3rd party ones don't. I'm using some cheap magnetic connector from eBay, and it charges quite slow (and half the times the magnet doesn't even keep it connected and it keeps falling off )
from my experience tablet charges in 4 hours (even if it`s turned on, from original SOny charger 1.5A 5V), from 20-30% to full. So this estimation is correct.
Anyone can recommend a good ansd cheap charger that support QC 2.0 or there already some thread about this on XDA somewhere?

Not sure where you are from but there are several good and cheap ones on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OVD3FEU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Cert...obile_desktop?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0
There is not really any difference between all of them, as long as they are certified by Qualcomm to work with QC 2.0.
There's a list of all certified chargers on this page: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge
and here is an especial cheap offer http://www.androidauthority.com/quick-charge-explained-563838/
So... do ALL z2 Tablets support QuickCharge 2.0 ? Because only the Japanese Z2 Phone supports Quickcharge!
Cool.
My quick charger that came with my samsung galaxy s6 initiates rapid charging on my z2 table, it even says rapidly charging when I plug it in

Hello everyone,
Ever since I got this Mi5 (125GB 4GB version) I've been trying everything I can so see it its behavior matches what is advertised. I should start off by saying so far so good.
Coming from a Moto X xt1092 I was used to some sort of indication that I was plugged to a QC enabled charger, not just a regular one. On this Mi5, however, and keep in mind that I'm under Lineage OS, I have no indication. I can count the minutes it takes to fill up a dead battery or maybe just 50% percent of it, but I'd like a sure and bullet proof indication. Also keep in mind that I'm using the original charger and cable - said charger that has the QC symbol on it.
Reading other threads, I noticed some posters were advised apps like Ampere - which I installed. Now, what kind of values should I expect from the app when charging? As of now, it hits a maximum of 1610 mA. What should I be looking at and what are the cutoffs above which I can be sure it's quick charging, as opposed to just regular charging?
Thank you in advance.
Added info: just set it to charge at 4%. 38 min later it was at 29%. It seems to me that 25% in 38 min is below QC 3 or even 2 standard (as it is often said that despite the mi5 being QC3 compatible, the original charger is QC2).
So, any chance one of you mi 5 owners can grab that app and give me some reference numbers? Just so I know for sure that I need to try and get a refund for the charger the phone shipped with.
4.1260 V
2860 mA

Thank you.
Yeah that's way higher higher than what I'm getting. Also, under technology I have "Li-ion", and a much lower Voltage.
Weird.
Something is definitely up.

the brick you get in the box is qc2. The device supports qc3 though and if the device is hot it will go upto 1610ma only buy a qc 3 brick roughly your charge should be done in 1hr 15-1hr 30 minutes
I knew the charger was qc2, I just thought it would go higher than 1610, which is exactly the top mA registered. Thanks for that info - I guess there's nothing wrong with it.
I have a qc3 charger on the way too.
The shipped charger has max current of 2.5A and indeed, during the first 10% ampere shows value near that (23XX mA on my phone). It will then gradually decrease down to 0.01A when the capacity is above 95%. Using real QC 3.0 charger (I have both Tronsmart and Aukey), the first 10% it can reach 28XX mA. The ending is similar, though.
I use the stock charger and cable that came in the box. I bought it here in macedonia. But i dont have an idea for wich market it is destined. I can confirm that it charges the phone to 85-90% in less than an hour, then it gets slow as stated above
Yeah I don't get those times, not even nearly. As you can see from the screen shot it took about two hours, most of which with screen off and no activity.
Do you have the same oem charger that i pictured above?
try to use different cable or different charger like aukey or tronsmart..
FYI original charger which support QC 3.0 Just MDY 08-EH

No only mainland china mi5 ships with QC 3 other regions where mi5 is sold only gets qc2 charger Google it if you want
Well mine was bought in Macedonia (south east europe) and i got a qc 3.0. indeed it is not with a local standard socket so i use a smalla dapter for the plug, but the point is that it depends to wich parts of the world xiaomi "officially" export, and to wich parts of the worlds (most of them) local companies undertake an adventure to import a batch of several hundred or thousands units from xiaomi, thus meaning destined for local chinese market

Yes, the exact same. But as that's not an European plug, I wonder if that's why I get different performance - it came with an adaptor.
I'm awaiting a new cable and charger in the mail soon that should clear it up.

It's stock charger bro.
Using the stock charger, a qc2.0 one (given with the international version of MI5), I get about 2200ma - 2300ma. I haven't tried a quick charger 3.0. However, check your kernel as well. The stock one of Lineage OS have an issue with quick charging, working once only after boot. I use DragonXia kernel and the qc works all the time.
To check if it is kernel issue, shutdown your phone and them connect the charger. I will start charging but using the recovery/boot kernel based on marshmallow, which (at least for me) hasn't got the issue of qc. Observe then the speed of charge and report.

Tested a mi5, same variant as mine, just today, with same lineage OS version. Also original charger and cable. Values are the same as yours, well above mine.
However, my original cable is defective, and has been refunded as the phone wasn't being recognized on the pc (which was a problem when flashing roms). A new one is in the mail, and in a day or two I suspect it'll solve the issue. I'll let you know.
Keep in mind apps are a bad way to check for QC capability.
My xiaomi stock charger puts out 1,8A @ 6V with 70% full battery(the higest current is being used between 20-50%, i'll try that later on)
Ampere only shows battery voltage(3,7-4,2V) instead of charging voltage and the ampere display is way off actual current
Please don't buy low price quickcharge Sony adapter:
on the right the one i've purchased as bulk original Sony UCH12 from a Ebay uk professional seller, on the left a original one purchased directly by Sony via Amazon.
On the right you can see a Counterfait Sony logo (different font, the O and N are completely different), blurred, smaller and totally unusable qr-code and misaligned text.
On the other side the Sony engraved logo are identical and there are very small differences (blurred and smaller quickcharge 3 and pump2 logo near usb connector)
Hmm, I'm was looking at buying some Sony ucb20 cables, the same that came with the phone, from eBay (China sellers). At little more than $7 for 3, I might take the risk.
Charges with 1900ish mA, and 2000mA with the screen off. https://www.ebay.com/itm/30W-Quick-...l-Charger-Adapter-EU-US-UK-Plug/263138546203?
Measured with Ampere Pro. The Anker PowerCore Speed 10000 QC Qualcomm QC 3.0 Charger with the screen on managed 2020mA.
Another fake from Ebay. Made by SANY
Fire hazard concerns? Would you trust the one I bought? A little concerned. Would like to buy the original Sony charger, but not available in the country I live in.
Measured mine to 25C-29C with an infrared sensor.
Its not the temp you need to worry about. Its the cheap components inside that will explode. Dont risk your life/home!
Ok, guys, i think i should warn u all about what happened to me.
I bought the cheapest Quick Charge 3.0 on ebay available from China, pretty easy to find it, it's the most common, if u do a quick research.
Just to be clear, this one:
Well, i don't know HOW exactly, but this pieace of crap makes my Xperia crazy, i made a video so you guys can understand:
https://youtu.be/KQf1-kImyBM
Funny thing is i thought the problem was the phone itself, some kind of hardware fault (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74418930&postcount=18)...
The black charger you see on the left is one original LG from my previous Nexus 5,of course no problems with that (unfortunately just up to 1400 mAh, don't know if it's barely Quick Charge 2.0...?)
Can somebody tell me what is safe to buy?
Some more pictures of my fake charger.
Tronsmart, Anker, uGreen are good products. I have a cliptec QC2.0 3A charger and it easily charged my previous moto x play at 2.4A maximum. Somehow it could only charge the xz1c at 1.8A I have no idea why.

Thank u for the advices!
About your doubts, i think u answer yourself. Im pretty sure the charger has to be QC 3.0, not just 2.0, regardless how much Ampere u see written..? Or am i mistaken?
So has anyone been able to actually charge their XZ1C at QC 3.0 speeds? I'm topping out at 2030 mAh with the provided UCH12 and USB cable that came in the box with the phone.

The xz1/c does not come with UCH12.
Hi everyone,
I think I've been taken in by an ebay dealer as well.
The charging speed doesn't differ much to the charger that came with the phone.
To be sure, does the XZ1/c say 'rapid charging' or simply 'charging' on the lock screen when it's connected to an UCH12 charger? In my case it says 'charging' but I guess it should be 'rapid charging'...
Many thanks,
SirLoKi
any other reliable third party companies besides anker? kinda pricey for cables and chargers..
Hello guys, I have lost a charger, that hmd provides with Nokia 8. Is there a way I can get the new one somewhere? If not, do you know the specs of it and some unofficial one, that has the same?
You should do fine with any QC3 certified third party chargers. Since the Nokia 8 supports QC3 and the original charger it came with supports it as well.
There are a few makes depending on your region. But for my region, the common QC3 chargers I could get are by Aukey(Should be common everywhere.), UGreen(I have one of this for myself) and Baseus.
I use an Anker charger as a spare and that works well but if you want an original there's a few on ebay. Trickle charging through a PC port might extend your battery life...
Hello. I just bought this XZ1 Compact from a sale. The phone was bundled with UCH20 charger which was a bit disappointing but luckily I had the fast charger, UCH12, from previous Sony phones. I have read that this phone supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 so it SHOULD charge quite rapidly. However, when I plugged the phone in the charger, it was charging really slowly. I mean 4.5 hours from 11% to 95%. Should the phone say "charging rapidly" or something at the lock screen?
Anyway, then I decided to test the UCH20 that was bundled with the phone and interestingly it charges a bit faster than the UCH12. This time it took a bit less than 3 hours to charge completely. This UCH12 charger charges rapidly my previous phones so I guess it shouldn't be broken?
What kind of charging speeds have you gotten with the UCH12 charger?
Did you have Battery Care enabled?

Yes I have. Does it affect the charging speed when below 90% battery?
It shouldn't, but since you only mentioned the total charging time to full 95% and "completely", I figured it wouldn't hurt to make sure.

Ok. Next time I will toggle it off and see if itmakes any difference. Sadly this battery lasts forever so I have to wait a couple of days to test it
Just bought an XZ1 compact myself, and I'm interested in the answer to this question, too. According to the Sony site, the XZ1 compact is compatible for QC with the UCH12W, but not the UCH12: https://support.sonymobile.com/glob...-charging/02310188014550f700148fcce243e002e57
However, these posts from Sony support suggest that there are no differences between the two, other than the cables that come with them: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xper...tween-a-UHC20-and-UHC12-chargers/td-p/1297608 https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Wired-accessories/Chargers-UCH12-vs-UCH12W/td-p/1194598
The UCH12W appears to be an international version without US-style bladed contacts, and I can't find it on the US version of the Sony store. Also, when you go to the US Sony store and search for compatible chargers based on phone model, the XZ1 compact shows *no* models, just a car charger. So maybe it's possible that the US model of the quick charger really is incompatible with the XZ1c, even though the phone does have QC capability?
I'd love to hear about a confirmed working (third party is fine) QC charger that's compatible.
