I dont understand what's going on here but a few days ago my stock email app was not notifying me of new emails. I couldn't figure out the problem so I deleted and re-set up my account. It was working for about a day and now is not working again. Anyone have this issue? I have no clue how to fix this.
It is a known issue, hopefully it will be resolved soon. Be patient.
Seems to be working on the s6a. Was there an update that killed the app?

I'm not having that issue. You may want to make sure the sync schedule is set up the way you want it.
Everything is setup to receive and instantly be notified. So far it's working again as I setup the email again

I upgraded my rom last night to the 2.17 ROM posted on here, and i also set up xpress mail for the first time today to link to my aol email. I can receive emails just fine but when i try to send i get an error 7312 which says it cannot send message and to check the email address and try again. Im certain the address is correct.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible that its linked to upgrading my ROM? Its not a big deal, im just one of those people who when somethings not working it sits in my head and bothers me until i figure out why its not working. Any suggestions?
Nevermind guys, i figured it out. Had to turn authentication on, and put in my aol user name and password in there. Dont i feel like an idiot lol
Hey just wondering if anyone else is having any issues on receiving their emails to the phone? I keep pressing send/receive to get my emails but nothing is coming at all. But when i looked at my email box on the computer i had 3 new messages. Nothing is coming to my phone at all...what i did get was an email from 2 days ago. I called ATT and also HTC and they couldnt figure out whats going on. I even deleted and put in the email to see if it would work but nothing. So im just wondering if theres any way to fix this issue? or also does anyone else have this issue?
mm i have noticed this too
it even feels as though it is selectively choosing which emails to dnload.
i tried changing storage settings and upping all the limits but no go, for me it only does this with my gmail account, so i just put it down to gmail and gave up...

I have a gmail account tied into my phone. what i have noticed to far is that from 1 perticular sender it doesnt dl from but this causes the rest of the email not to dl. if i delete that 1 email from that sender and click send/receive all others will come in fine.
i have already tried a few radios and roms thinking it was the prob but I was wrong. its been going on since i say maybe around a week to a week and a half.

i'm also running pda corner v20, have eitherone of you tried deleting the gmail accont from the phone and set it up from scratc? i havent had any issues with my gmail.
yea i deleted my gmail account and started it from scratch....at that time it only downloaded an old email. but right now it seems like the emails are coming normal to me now....i think it was att issue cause later that night my phone went to EDGE instead of having 3G and then in the morning when i woke up it was back to 3G. So im thinking ATT was working on something and fixed the issue!
I also tried deleting and starting from scratch. I know its not the rom as I have tried several all with the same results. The wiered thing is like I said before if i choose NOT to d/l email from that specific sender all my emails d/l with no problems. I really can't understand whats going on. This has happened to me twice...On 2 different Moto X's and with 2 different Gmail accounts.
On both devices I created a new gmail accounts and used it to sign in on my new Moto x. Worked fine for a few days and out of nowhere I get an error about the password being incorrect/account locked,followed by instructions to reset/confirm password from the a browser.
After confirming on a browser the account will work...but only for a few days and the same error will come up.
I am terribly confused and frustrated cause the phone is basically useless without a Gmail.
Am I missing a setting on the phone? In Gmail from a browser? Kit Kat bug? Any ideas?
Any suggestions would help.

Could updating to Kit Kat before signing into Gmail create an issue? If so why? All tech support people I have spoken to have only the generic response/trouble shooting suggestions...

My guess is someone trying to get into your Gmail. Lol If they try to guess your password enough time it will lock you out. Just as you've said. I can't see how the phone can tamper with your password and have never heard of that being an issue.
Better think hard about anyone who may really wanna see what you have in your email.

The Gmails were brand new, created just for the phones.
Well, not sure what to say. Never heard of this issue ever. Did you google it? See if anyone has had this issue?
If there's nothing on google... Then no way does it have any thing to do with your phone.
Someone is either trying to get into your account. Or somehow you are messing up the password and locking yourself out.

I know its not the phone, I was just wondering if anyone has heard or seen this issue. Its not me putting in the password incorrectly bc when I intially put in the account and password it connects and syncs just fine for a few days. Then when I send a gmail or download an app, I get the error.
Thats why I was wondering if its an issue with Kit Kat, or if installing the update first and adding the account after may be causing the issue.
I have generall knowledge and have had many Android phones and this is the first time I have ever encountered an issue like this.
I have factory reset
Got a warranty replacement
and even tried 2 brand new gmail accounts
and it continues to happen.
Any Ideas?

Once it happened to me as well but after I cleared app data the issue solved.
Happened once to me a while back. Apparently had to confirm my Gmail account info first and then it was unblocked

I don't use MMS often, so I can't say for sure root had anything to do with this, but I haven't been able to send or receive MMS messages for a few weeks now. I've looked around for a bit, and the only solution I see is to make sure your data is working and your wifi is off, both of which I've done. If anyone else has been having this problem recently and has been able to solve it, please let me know.

Yes I have this same issue. The only thing other than root that I did was disable CarrierIQ as outlined in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2774730
I can't receive group texts or any MMS for that matter.
My APN is default.
Same problem. Really bugged me bc I usually HATE 3rd party message apps. Gave Chomp SMS a try though and I love it. Made it my default and it is much better than the stock messaging app.
Had the same problem. Was running Textra, and after root, no MMS. Once I deleted AdBlocker, no more issues.
Ok everyone I need some collective help. About 2 weeks ago my MMS stopped working altogether. I have flashed every rom available for this phone and I can send and receive an MMS once and then nothing after that. I have contacted AT&T and they have worked it as much as they can on their end.
I have used every messenger app and I know that the Google app has had, I'm past that point and it seems to be with the phone or network. Does ANYONE have a clue as to what going on here?!?
