You either have a defective battery or turbo charger. Seeing as the battery issue is common, contact Motorola or wherever you purchased the device and inquire about your options.

Bionic Charge Time...

The charging time of the Droid Bionic is painfully slow, I suggest that someone should make a flashable charging modification similar to the one that was created by Chad0989 of IncrediKernel link shown here: http://www.incredikernel.com/wp-con...-monitor/download.php?id=enablefastcharge.zip
Can such modification be implemented for the Droid Bionic at this time?
Please let me know cause I'm really tired of waiting 2-3 Hours for a full charge.
Thanks!
It has to do with a custom kernel...until we see a unlocked bootloader and a dev building a kernel from source...it wont happen
Also, be careful what you wish for, from what I understand, faster charging can negatively impact your long term battery life. No proof of that, but I'm sure I've read that on here before.
On a standard battery I get full charge in less than 2 hours.
Scenario: phone off (on didnt' seem to matter), plugged in using moto included accessories. (charger and usb cable)
On the extended battery I get a full charge in about 5 hours...that one is painful...

Wow... I was getting about 5 hours on regular battery from charge before I rooted. Now that I rooted and installed DroidTh3ory's ROM, my first full day trial I started at 11:30am or so and it is now 6:01pm and I'm looking at 60% battery life without charging it at all today... Talk about improvement.
2 hours or less on extended battery here.

That's absolutely true. 1C is really the Max you want to charge a lithium battery. 1C is one times the capacity.
But the funny thing is, the biggest fastest charger I have found is rated at 1 amp. That's much less than what the battery is capable of. (~1.7a)
So in a nutshell, don't worry about charging your battery too quickly on the Bionic.

Liberty ROM will have a faster charge and better battery life overall from what I'm seeing of the alphas. Should not be too much longer until it's released. Give it a few weeks.
I went from about 20% to 100% on the extended battery in about 2 hours. However I use my iPad's USB adapter to charge it with. I believe its output is 10W instead of the normal 5W from a USB charger. I don't know if that makes any difference for the Bionic at all. I had used the USB adapter it came with originally, and yes it was PAINFULLY slow
It is wicked slow... Would love to see something that could help with that!

Is that IncrediKernal dwnld for DInc?
I can charge my phone from completely dead to 100% in about an hour. Maybe you should consider getting another battery?
You guys who think the Bionic charges slow are crazy! The Charge took around 4.5 hours for a full charge. I'm amazed at how fast this thing charges (2-3 hours) and it's even got a bigger battery.

Slow Charging? + Non OEM MicroUSB

My Nexus 7's battery was dead at arrival. I'm trying to charge it up now and it's MOVING SO SLOW?
Am i the only one?
Also I tried charging with my phone's microusb cord (cuz it's WAY longer) and it wasn't charging at all? Did anybody have any luck using NON-OEM usb cords?
Its probably the cord. The Nexus 7 charger is 5 volts 2 AMPS which is higher than the usual 1 amp chargers. Just wait and see

Mine seemed to be charging very slowly, too. On the other hand, it also drains very slowly!
What everyone else is saying plus it will go quicker after a few initial charges.

The second time I charged it, from about 40% it only took like 2 hours to fully charge

Nexus 7 is apparently very finicky regarding what chargers and what cables will do the job - some of mine work (e.g. $4.74 Motorola http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EYSKM8/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00 ) some don't (Griffin iPad charger for instance, which is a powerful charger and works for Everything else I've tried)
Along the same lines, if you have it attached to a generic car charger and are using it for GPS, the charger barely keeps up with power use.
Yes it charges slowly. Yes you have to use the charger that came with the unit.

That's better then my SGS2 phone. I had about 20% left on it, but needed to use it as a GPS on a business trip. Plugged it into a car charger, and loaded up Navigation. The phone indicated charging, but the battery level kept dropping (albeit a little slower). By the time we got to our destination (~30mins away) I only had 7% left.
Crazy.
Would the Nexus 7 charger be OK with my Galaxy Nexus or will there be issues? I don't need two chargers at the same time.

I charged my Gnex with the N7 charger two nights ago, had no issues but i don't know if it is safe.
As long as the voltages are the same, and the amps are = or > than what the device needs, you should be OK. The device will only pull the amperage it needs. Voltage is what needs to be the exact (but I don't think this matter over USB, since it's all 5v - matters more with generic A/C adapters). If you don't have enough amps, it could result in slow/failed charging, but too much doesn't matter.
It seems to picky with cables. I also used a longer USB I had lying around. I left it charging for 30 minutes. I came back and it only went up 1% I switched back to the cable that came with it and it started to charge it normally.
I'm not sure why its happening but its weird

tricky
The nexus 7 need "compatible" usb cables, i have one that is working great and it's for usb charging only, no data .
The nexus 7 battery is 4325 Mah so a 2Amp charger will charge the battery in a little more than 2 hours (calculate the 325mah over and add the standby battery discharging when you charge it while at ON)
So the tips are:
1. Find a good 2Amp usb charger
2. Find a compatible cable, try some no data cable or maybe usb3 or again try, try try...
Awesome Tablet
I picked up a 6 ft generic Micro USB cable from Amazon for around $2, and I've been using it to charge my Nexus 7 virtually since I bought it after it launched on the Google Play store, because it's much longer than the OEM Asus cord.
The problem though, it was hard to plug in, so I filed down the bumps [on the bottom of the connector, or, on the Nexus 7, the side facing you when you plug it in--because the N7's micro usb port is up side down ] a tad bit too much so now it's a little to lose. So sometimes when I adb into it, and move it a little bit, it will lose the PC connection [but never the charging connection] intermittently.
Also, it charges fine, except when I'm playing MC3, or Bad Piggies HD. With those apps, it will say Charging, but will actually slowly discharge [slower than on battery, so apparently there's not enough power to tread water, and it sinks slightly]. It's plays HD 720P mkv files fine [with MxPlayer], and stays fully charged at 100%.

My nexus takes about 7-8 hours to charge, and thats using the original charger that it came with. Used it now for a week without any improvement. Also my battery time with lowest backlight, gps off and so on is around 4-5 hours which feels abit low. wtf is going on?
Any usb charger should work.
The problem is the charge controler IC in the N7, it is REALLY picky with voltages.
My N7 OEM cord is a much heavier gauge then my NS or GN cord, on top of that the NS and GN cords are twice the length.
We had a really long thread on G+ about this, we even figured out the observer effect was screwing us when we had an ammeter on it.
TL;DR:
If the cord is too long or not heavy enough the N7 only pulls like 800mA (It can be less if the charger/cord is really ****, we had 300something mA with one combo)
The 2A OEM charger isn't 2A, but it's close enough.
microUSB plugs NEEDS to be 5mm or longer for them to mate in the plug properly, OEM is like 7mm
Some other crap I can't remember at 5am
So yeah, it's picky.
Use what it came with. It came with it for a reason.
Just got this in the mail from monoprice today and it's charging like a beauty.

[Q] Moto G Charging Time

Hey guys, How much time does it take u to charge your 2nd gen moto G from 0 to 100 running stock and locked botloader. I'm having an issue with my device, it takes 3 hours to charge with wifi and mobile data off. Is it the same with everyone ?

I am using my Lumia's charger and phone gets charged in a hour from 0-100%
I will have an answer for this in a few days.
Theoritically it should take 225mins to charger from 0-100% with stock charger..
Anyone knows maximum charging rate?
Just did a full charge (0-100%) without the OS running. Took 2 hours. I'm using Anker Power IQ 40W 5-port desktop charger and Moto's USB cable.
Remember, quality of the cable (as well as the charger) directly affects charge time. So try to use official or high quality cable and charger

Yep,
Use a 2 Amp charger and you will get full charge in 1.5 hours.

[Q] Slow charge?

I'm using the "fast charger" that comes with the phone, but it seem to charge slower than I predicted. It says 1 hour until full charge when they phone is at 55%.
Is this right?
did you use the cable that come with the phone?
not all microusb cable can do fast charge.

Yes. I'm using everthing that comes with it.
The next question is.... were you messing with the phone while it gave you that estimated 1 hour left to fully charged? If you have the screen on and doing a lot of crap with it, of course it will take longer (this may be obvious to some, I'm not trying to insult you if you didn't know this, just stating the fact)
My experience with it went like this yesterday - note that I haven't even unpacked the factory charger, was using the Motorola Turbo Charger for this "experiment"
0% (phone died over night off charger to make this test)
30 mins on Turbo Charger - 45%
1 hour on Turbo Charger - 85%
Had to take it off to go to work, but those are some great numbers for a charger not necessarily designed for this phone, but the device was in Fast Charging mode the whole time, of course, so it was comparative
Is there some way to turn on fast charge? Because 6hours to fully charge or even charge a lot I don't have.

Use the fast charger that came with it or the Turbo Charger and it comes on automatically, 6 hours was with me using wireless charging which is always going to be slower than any wired 2+ amp charger will do

Lol I plugged into the the stock charger from the box and it said 6hrs to charge (from 0) switched outlet just incase that outlet was wonky but same result. The I said screw it and just figured I use to wireless charger so at least the phone would be near me, low and behold it says 3hrs (from 0). So apparently wireless is the way to go.

You must have had something else going on with the phone for it to say 6 hours on the factory charger....... I don't remember what mine said because I plugged it in, powered it on, and started watching the clock in the kitchen, turning on the phone screen only to check battery levels at those specific intervals I stated! I didn't even touch the device to start anything when I started this experiment, so it wasn't running any apps other than Android system level stuff, but no, wireless definitely isn't going to be faster, despite what the estimated timer said on the phone!

Well it's charging super quick compared to that factory charger. On the factory charger (plugged in right after phone died) went from 0 to 5 percent in about 25 minutes. on the wireless charger right now its gone from 5 to 16 in under 20 minutes. more than twice as fast.
Aslo, I am using the new Samsung wireless charger that is supposed to support fast charging.
**EDIT**
It charges even faster if I plug it directly into the cable for the wireless charger. Now it says 1hr29mn instead of 2hrs.

Make sure the cable is plugged all the way in to the charging brick. If it's not plugged in all the way, even a few mm, it will charge much slower.

I believe the laws of physics dictate that this will happen.

Fast charge seems broken after flashing Marshmallow (MRA58K)

Just like the title says, after flashing Android 6.0 using the Factory Image files, I notice that quick charge doesn't seem to be functioning any longer. Charges very slow, like plugging into an older USB port. Anybody else notice this or know of a fix?
That's very odd, I asked about fast charge on here before and was told that it wasn't software based at all, that it was purely hardware, the fast charger connects with your CPU and they make the fast charge happen. As far as I've been told, it's not software based. I could be wrong though. I flashed the image today too, and the fast charge does seem to still be working for me.

If you download Ampere from Play, it will tell you what your charging mAh is and whether it is detecting as turbo.
I had to replace my charger. It stopped being turbo, and only supplied 1100mAh. Very weird.

my charger supplies the same round about 1100mAh, its the charger that came in the box, it worked perfectly for a month but somehow doesnt work now, how much does turbo charging shows on Ampere,? and how do you know if the charger is faulty or phone is?

Turbo, if less than a certain % battery (Cant remember what, less than 70% maybe?) Ampere should show the word "TURBO" and be delivering about 2000 mAh. As the phone gets fuller, it will drop out of turbo mode so choose a battery % of around 50% to test with to be safe.
As to how to Identify it, I don't know. Trial and error. I tried multiple cables, because it worked one day then just didn't any more. I thought it was probably the phone but a chance it was the charger. I contacted Google, who offered me a refurbished unit without a charger. I told them that was pointless on the small chance it was the charger. They said they'd give me £10 to buy a new one from Play. They're £25 on play, so I told them that and they sent me the rest of the money. I bought the charger and to my surprise it fixed the issue.
