Hi,
If WP7 was not official launched in India you cannot access those features.
You must create or change your Windows Live account to a region that has WP7 official (UK, USA, Spain, Germany)
Thanks
Had the same issue.
So I have 1 official live account with India region(which I will use when WP7 releases world wide)
and an unofficial live account I currently use for downloading free apps. This one uses the address of a US Mc. Donalds outlet in Bethesda .
Cheers.
Have the same problem.
Can you provide a small guide as to how to go about it.
Btw is it possible to have to live accounts on the same phone?
Also I have already activated the phone with India all over.. so do i have to reset it to enter the fake ID?
Thanks in advance..
I just mailed HTC India regarding it since its now officially available moreover I bought the product with a 1 year warranty.
We can do this without creating ( and wasting time ) a US account
Use regedit and navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Zune\Features
You will find 3 keys in it
Apps
Marketplace
singInavailable
in all those key values add IN for example
AT,AU,BE,CA,CH,DE,ES,FR,GB,IE,IT,MX,NZ,SG,US,IN
Launch Zune. Now you will be able to see marketplace. You can make purchase with your credit card , download free apps / games.
Only catch is : after we sync it with zune , registry value changes. You might have to redo this stuff. But the advantage is that when the marketplace is launched in india it will be seemless integration.
Hi asksaravana,
Your tips was truely helpful. I could download some useful apps from the marketplace.
I recently bought a T-Mobile handset HTCHD7 from US.
I want to use it India. Unfortunately all the T-Mobile applications are US specific.
Is there any ways to get Airtel specific applications?
Regards,
Ram.

This works, but now some of the downloaded applications have new versions. How to update them. Marketplace in phone shows 10 updates, but when you click, it gives errors that not available in your country/region.
Found a way to update installed applications on phone.
Install marketplace browser.
Search for the installed application in marketplace browser.
Once you open the application page, you will see update button if there is a new version for the installed app.
Click update and update all your apps one by one.
Marketplace thru Wifi / GPRS
Hey guys, just reached this thread, is there a way any one figured out to get marketplace working either by wifi or gprs / 3G
Coz trying to browse the market from the phone shows " Not Available on your Region" - Zune works perfect.
Regards,
NVV
Solution Found for Marketplace in india
open up zune.
create a new live account from within zune. select location as US.
it will automatically sign you in .
go to your control panel - region and language.
set the location to US under the location tab.
apply the registry hack as mentioned in the above posts.
restart zune.
you can access apps , music, videos . podcasts in marketplace now.
i have been doing this.works all the time.
( you need to change the registry settings everytime before opening zune. or create a registry and that will make everything little easy )
have fun
So is Marketplace still not available in India?
I just switched to Windows Phone. I even bought an app using an Indian account and an Indian credit card. However, the only way I can access Marketplace is by making the registry changes. I can't access it in my phone.
I just uninstalled an app and I have no idea how to re-install it. Can anyone help?
I have obtained the latest version (dated September 5th) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31187814&postcount=12
I have noticed a problem though: with the previous version (R75-v6) I was able to run the app outside US, using Market Enabler and selecting USA T-Mobile or USA AT&T. With this new version, the trick does not work: the app displays the usual message "Not yet available in your country".
Anybody experienced the same?
Do you think there is some new check in the app? (e.g. looking at the mobile operator ID)

I do believe that it has to do with the fact that address for billing being in the US.
I can confirm this works well on the Nexus S, and others seem to have gone around the country issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810282
Indeed I have used all the suggested guidelines and put US addresses so that everything worked, up to R75.
But the latest version (R79) may have changed something, so I was wondering if someone outside US has noticed any difference after updating the app from R75 to R79.
In my case the app does not start anymore (but reinstalling R75 fixed everything back again to normal).
Hello guys, not sure if i'm right or not for posting it here.
IN belgium android Auto is not yet available, which, quite frankly is quite frustrating.
So i can't download it from the store.
I have tested with a VPN on phone but didn't seem to work very great so....next best thing?
Does anyone have, a working APK, for Android Auto, for Huawei P30 Pro?
And, second one.
If anyone from belgium managed to get this to work, did you run into a problem where the opening of the app results in a error message "somethign went wrong" google play services doesn't seem to be working at the moment
Sign in to Google Play services (Beta) https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.google.android.gms
Install Android Auto apk - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-auto/android-auto-4-3-5918-release/ arm64-v8a
Or download from AppGallery ?

Negative. Still not available in AppGallery.
UAE user here.
I guess AppMirror would be the best option.
I will keep this post updated if working solutions are shared.
Native Solutions (with push notifications, location services, google login):
None so far.
Virtual Machine environments:
Lighthouse (Only working for C636 region, not C432 euro-edition)
OurPlay (Chinese-only interface, but uses system languge for installed apps)
DualSpace (loses ability to install apps/updates after a day)
VMOS (old android v7, with virtual root and Xposed)
VPhoneGaGa (old Android v7, with virtual root)
Since many threads have confusion about methods which only work for Chinese version, please help confirm GMS installation methods for the international version, so we can test properly. Because Google apps are what many of our coworkers, colleagues, and friends use we unfortunately can't just abandon them. Therefore, only solutions that work with login to Google services (not just GMS but actual Google authentication, like for Gmail, Google Voice, YouTube Music, Meet, Chat, Maps, Calendar, Photos, etc.) will be accepted.
Apparently MicroG only works for apps which don't need to use Google login, has anyone found a real solution? Is there any downside to install Chinese firmware onto the phone (will OTA updates still work)? https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...o-international-mate-40-pro-possible.4196699/

I think we will have to wait a while for a Way that works on the International Model, there's literally no working Way right now.
I got used to use Outlook for my Gmail Account, YouTube Vanced which is better then the Normal YouTube App and i do use Google Maps but i never logged in there so it's not a problem for me. But of course a working Way would be nice.
And afaik you can't just Flash the Chinese Rom so easily...
I'm still wondering why the International Version is so much more locked up Software wise then the Chinese one
Hi..
I have the international version and you are right, the Chinese method does not work with this model.
I have sped the last 7 days with this phone and almost tried all combinations of installations and nothing works.. Seems I can't get the App "G" (whatever its called) to work my the device and I don't want to downgrade the OS. I just can't believe that a giant like Huawei just gave up and didn't leave any backdoors for us to use the phone. in my opinion, Huawei mobile phone business is doomed. its unfortunate for a perfect phone to lack basic apps just because of Google and US gaining on the company.
Hopefully, things will change once TRUMP is pushed out of office soon.
Do you have guidance on the last version of Maps ??
I have it just on 10.49.3 version ...
Huawei is way far from being doomed, they are very successful in Asia where nobody is obsessed with Google. There is life without Google but it's not as comfortable as all western users are used to.
Actually I would blame Google for being so closed and not allowing proper app support without GMS and developers that rely so much on Google services like Firebase. How is it possible that a banking app is not able to function without GMS? Or Microsoft Teams still complaining that GMS is not available... Big part of the world is too dependent on a couple of US based companies...
Also even without Trump there is a very small chance that anything will change in regards to US ban and sanctions on Huawei.
App "G" is called LZPlay. Here is a good read what it actually does:

I am quite comfortable without GMS and I still use some of the Google apps. WebApps are actually quite decent: Google Fotos, Google Drive etc.
Now when it comes to GMS implementation on Huawei. Not sure what will just waiting change, who do you think will change anything?
Only way to install GMS without Google approval would be to use MDM (mobile device management) app that functions similarly to LZPlay but is owned by a developer who is not hiding as it is a case with LZPlay. But I don't think that Huawei will now approve a signed build of any app that will try to use those APIs mentioned in the article.
In China they can do whatever they want with the FW but in rest of the world they comply with the ban. Also it seems that Google specifically needs to white-list device fingeprints. MicroG should in theory work with new Huawei phones even including log-in but it does not, exactly due to the missing white list.
RTFM, push app developers to work with HMS and educate yourself on what is really the problem. Alternatively just wait

Totally disagree that in Asia nobody is obsessed with Google. China doesn't represent Asia. Most countries outside China is using GMS on daily basis. They use G Suite, Gmail in business, Especially during this pandemic time, Google Meet is one of the frequent used App for communication. Not to mention many travelling apps, banking apps are relied on GMS.
You may able to survive without GMS, but just like itchiness, it won't kill you, but it just annoys you all the time.
That is a good statement. But the situation is as it is and simple peasant users like we are will not be able to change it
Any updates on this?

but I never see solution that people downgrade (Mate 40 Pro) and install GMS
All GMS installation methods used so far are based on EMUI 10. Mate40 pro has EMUI 11, so nothing will work for now.

It stil works on the Chinese version Mate40 Pro
I read in a video posted on youtube that a chinese app ourplay its like a chinese version of playstore installs gms for emui 11.
Tried installing the app the only problem is it you can only use the app with a china IP address so i couldnt fully verify if it works or not.
Anybody wanna try for mate 40 international phones?
Installer can be downloaded on their site ourplay.net
Title says it all.
This is the country list: https://partnermarketinghub.withgoogle.com/brands/android-auto/overview/country-availability/
I think the situation was different a few years back with older versions of AA, where it was relatively easy to circumvent the restrictions and still use AA anyway on a car's head unit. But with current A12 / A13 OS plus the current versions of AA, do people still have success using AA on their head unit in countries where AA isn't officially available?
Found a solution after search through local discussion forums.
The problem actually lies with "Google Play Services" which is the one responsible for detecting where your location is, not "Android Auto". The key to working around this issue of using Android Auto in an unapproved country is to download the Google Play Services with a particular build variant. If you retrieve the version number of the currently installed Google Play Services on your phone, you will see something like "Version: xx.xx.xx (190400-xxxxxxxxx)" where the number in brackets is the "build variant". For A12, you will probably have 190400-xxxxxxxxx as your build variant, and A11 will likely have 150400-xxxxxxxxx.
The only build variants known so far that bypass country checks are 200400 for A12, and 170400 for A11. APKMirror has these build variants that you can download. Once you have replaced "google play services" with the one you have downloaded from APKMirror, you are good to go. The only question left now is - how do you prevent Google Play from auto-updating Google Play Services back to the newest and problematic version?
You can uncheck auto updates of the play store and just regularely update through 3rd party versions.
Thanks for posting!
You must be a naive to believe this, anything is available in any country.
AA isn't available in my country, but it works on my older cars.
On my new car BMW iX 2022, it doesn't work and I get an error showing "connection failed"
I posted about it here with more details:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/android-auto-connection-failed.4493825/
I'm going to try and find one of those google play services builds and try and hope to get it working.
Update:
Unfortunately, I couldn't get an apk to install successfully.
I tried many APKs from apkmirror that show build variant 200400, but they all give me an error "App not installed as package appears to be invalid"
