Can remove tampered on any hboot with s-off. If your returning for warranty it's usually recommended to downgrade first to hboot 1.44 then remove tampered and lock it up before you update firmware past hboot 1.54. Other wise there's a risk of tampered returning. :good: Sunshine will cost you $25 to s-off but it's the only option for hboot 1.56 and above.

after s-off you can do anything. Use this http://www.htc1guru.com/2013/11/new-bootloader-unlock-tool/

tell me to downgrade to 1.54
after downgrade is tampered away?

No downgrading alone won't remove tampered. You must use the bootloader unlock tool from the above link. When you run the tool it has option to remove tampered. :good: but you must have s-off to use the tool.

in order to downgrade your phone you must have s-off. We don't have any information about your phone so we can not really tell you how to downgrade. Post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (edit out your IMEI and Serialno before posting).
If you are on hboot 1.57 or above, you must use sunshine to achieve s-off

You have lollipop firmware so you can flash lollipop roms. You can check in a roms discussion thread to find out which recovery works best with the Rom you want to flash.

"Firmware: 2.24.401.8" you got that from "fastboot getvar all" or from where??
if this is your firmware, as confirmed by a "fastboot getvar all", then flash a Guru Reset: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
select WIPE, select ROOT, unselect "stock recovery", and then try rumrunner, should work.

Don't quite understand your question, but here goes:
1- you said have firmware 2.24.401.8
2- the Guru Reset ROM I linked earlier is exactly for 2.24.401.8 and has ability to install ROOT
3- before rumrunner universal was released, the 2.24.401.8 specific rumrunner package worked just fine; i haven't had a chance to read up on rumrunner universal recently, but it should work as well
4- if you don't try, you won't know if it works
5- .....
Got it. Will try it when i get home.
Thank you all

yep, it's 1GB, make sure ZIP isnt corrupted you can check MD5 sum.
It's that big cause it's a full HTC Sense 5 (android 4.2.2) version. only the GPE or CW versions (plain google edition) are smaller, HTC Sense 5 and 5.5 ROMs are all around 1GB
it is now flashing, but it has past 25 min and the indicator started and got stuck on 10%. is this normal?

i believe you need to be ROOTED for rumrunner to work.
anyway, if all is good, would you mind editing the main thread title to include [SOLVED]. thanks.
otherwise let me know
the the fastboot it shows that it is tampered and unlocked doesn't that mean that the phone is rooted?
i still did not get the s-off so the problem is not solved.

no, "tampered" and "unlocked" doesnt mean you have ROOT privileges (ie superuser), you said you're on 4.3 now right?
download Guru Reset: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_3-62-401-1-zip/
flash it using custom recovery (either CWM or TWRP), and in the installer: select WIPE, select ROOT, unselect "stock recovery"

for the time being you can't:
1- as there is no signed firmware available which you could flash while S-On
2- you can't seem to S-Off at the moment
3- anyway, it's just the "text" that's missing, so don't worry too much about it right now

If i understand correctly, this phone was converted to a Google play edition and you want it back to its original firmware and software? Original CID number and MID number are stored in partition mmcblk0p6.
You can pull mmcblk0p6 using an adb shell if you have root or if you have a custom recovery installed like twrp. Let me know if you have root or if you have a custom recovery and I'll explain you how to proceed.
You will also need s-off to change your cid and mid before running the ruu, if any avaiblabe for your original CID/MID

Just helped someone in a similar situation, this problem doesn't seem so bad for genuine GPE. If the Rom is still booting at least.
HTC dev doesn't work on GPE bootloaders anyway as far as I'm aware. You should use the command "fastboot oem unlock"
But in the above mentioned case that didn't work either. Sunshine app unlocked it and gave s-off though. So if it's locked with s-on but your able to boot your Rom I suggest getting Sunshine app to unlock and s-off before your completely FUBAR.

Unlocked bootloader with HTCDev.
Installed custom recovery with fastboot.
Installed SuperSU in recovery.

Installed Sunshine.

I don't see why you'd have to activate as long as you have WiFi.
I don't know about activating, unfortunately.

I'm not going to be a huge help here but as far as I know if you want to convert your ONE to a Google Play Edition you will need S-OFF. To gain that you will need to use Sunshine that will cost you $25. Firewater (free) is no longer available unfortunately. Once you're s-off you can findsome guides how to proceed with the conversion.

Why confused ? S-off is fine but you can also do more harm to your phone
you don't flash boot.img it comes with the rom
to flash roms all you need unlocked bootloader (free at htcdev.com)
custom recovery - free here >> http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
and SuperSU for Root free here >> http://download.chainfire.eu/641/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip
all you gain with s-off is the ability to flash older firmware and RUU for a different device ...for example convert to Developer edition or GPe
