Hello everyone!
I found something interesting with the fingerprint sensor today, so I thought I share it.
I held the phone upside down swiped down with my registered fingers and they got recognised!
All the fingers I registered got recognised.
Not only that it recognised much better!
So I re-registered all my prints while the phone is held upside down, so when in correct orientation, the fingers will be recognised even better!
So much happier. Love my Note 4. [emoji16]

I like the way a device which we paid a lot makes us turn upside down to work as it should. You should not be happy about it IMHO ☺ though I can count meself happy owning this device, I regret not getting an ip6 from time to time.

Ip6? Booooo. With 5.1.1 hopefully our beast phone can be a beast again! From the looks of Russian 5.1.1 review (YouTube) it doesn't have any new features apart from performance improvement. But still good!

That's interesting I'm gonna test that on my N910C.
Lol. This actually works. U can swipe pretty quick and it still registers! Wtf! Lol. But this is pretty neat discovery. Basically u just hold the phone upsidedown while u register fingers. Thats only one timr thing.
Then u can use it normally when u unlock.
Thanks for this thread. Very helpful.
I've been a, "it always works for me" person when people complain about the fingerprint scanner. I didn't thought it was people not doing it right.
I just tried this and, wow! It really does make it better. I barely even had to touch the scanner with my finger.
Guys, did you try to use a non-registered finger when unlocking? lol just a thought

From what I understand Ubuntu Touch is still in the testing phase. Word is that Canonical will launch a stable build by the end of this month. So it mere days/weeks. The preview was beautiful. Personally excited to get my hands on it.
The only drawback I can anticipate will be the initial lack of apps. Which won't even take long to change I'm sure.
Currently on PA:3.15
Thank you to all the devs working on any ROM/app/mod/kernel grinding their finger tips to the bone.

I really don't see that happening at all (failing). Been following it up to this point of the preview being dropped. I realize its early to say but I feel that it was the first OS to do exactly as any company had advertised. Nothing more or less.
When I had my Evo LTE threads were full of support for it. Ubuntu alone has definitely taken off, have it as a dual boot and primary on another.. So personally I believe as long as it stays on the path and future they are creating we can expect something pretty awesome. There was some mention that people felt it was just a launcher in a sense. Idk I felt it was entirely new experience.
Had a chance to test the Infobar as well. Which the two operated very similar. So it gave a full preview.
Being in love with Paranoid and having a gesture based phone I'm still looking forward to it. Worse comes to worse I think it will bring alot to future android development. But all in all I would love to see it succeed and become a major player.
I tried it out today...because i just got my N4 and haven't activated it yet...and well...the keyboard wasn't working...it was pretty as all hell, but i can see how it's a beta...painfully so...

It's not even in beta. It's a developer preview right now. They don't even expect testers to use it just yet. The wider testing phase should be the end of May or early June. That's when 3g and auto bug reporting will be enabled.

It is in "dogfood" stage, meaning that their in-house developers use it on a daily basis. It runs fine, there's just not much in the way of apps (even built-in) for it yet. It can be laggy at times because it is not optimised, but a person could use it daily if you don't need a lot of apps on your phone.

All issues can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/ReleaseNotes#Known_Issues
You could also try it with MultiROM.
Btw, there's a mako thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2324683
Is there anyway that we can tweak the fingerprint in recognize just by tap? Not by swipe?
Its hard to unlock with one hand when using fingerprint.

well i tried both fingerprint scanner
the s5 one was much better and it can detect your fingerprint a little faster
but the 5s one is easier to use because you dont need to swipe your finger only that (well i placed my finger bad when i was setting the touch id up )
Hey everyone this is pretty crazy. We just dropped the Galaxy S5 off a two story building and it actually survived. Sure the screen is shattered but it still works which is unbelievable. I love the M8's aluminum design to death, but there's no way it would've made it past this.
I'm going to be honest, Samsung has done a good job with the build of the Galaxy S5.
WOW that is just amazing thought it would of been dead
Good job too, because this is the first thing I intend to do when my S5 is delivered today.
Wow, it landed right on it's face too. I mean with all those other tests, this phone is crazy
Damn
Next test should be amount of time is a microwave.

I don't like that all notifications are combined now. It's very irritating. The phone is also much laggier than before I've noticed. Charges slower. The faulty note 7 was too lazy for a $850 device to begin with, but I hoped they'd fix it. I really don't like the green battery either, but that's not a big deal really.

In my experience it was way less laggy than V1 and fixed most of the issues I had in gaming with poor performance and muddy textures. Plus the fingerprint sensor is really fast now

I updated V1 because I have a V2 on order and had nothing to lose. Since it's the same hardware sans battery, I wanted to see what the update would do.
It was indeed quite laggy until I ran the device maintenance app and rebooted. It seems to be smoother now than before. I do, however, prefer the previous notification pull down.
Has anyone noticed a change in their status notifications?
On my original Note 7 notifications were not "grouped" if I had multiples from the same app (Facebook). Now I have to tap on the group to get them to expand.
I have noticed similar behavior for SMS messages. I no longer get a message preview and I do not have the option to reply from status bar..
I agree!

I received my replacement last night and there is definitely a lag, but nothing like the POS HTC Desire they gave me as a loaner and after charging on the wireless charger all night, it was only at 76%. I also cannot for the life of me find where I can change the alarm ringtone now (the settings does not have that option any longer) which is I why I came here. I did notice some interesting additions though.

If you go to the Clock App then select the Alarm tab. Select the Alarm entry you would like to modify (or create a new one). To change the ringtone select the Sound and Volume.
