After trying reset and appeared the sad face, I tried to reinstall 8.1 using the Recovery , then at the beginning of the process it stopped.
So I decided to try the process in Nokia Care Suite and I get this error at all times I tried.

After trying to upgrade to WM6 and failed, I have been trying to use the recovery tool so that I can try the upgrade again.
The recovery tools works fine and I even get to the point "“The Update has completed successfully”. The issue is that the OS doesn't load and it gets stuck in the Palm screen.
Hard setting and soft setting works and have tried this process around 15 times with the recovery tool and always it hangs on the same place.
I thought the upgrade was going to be challenging but this is driving me bonkers. Has anyone come across this issue??????

Just got my P990 today, with Android 2.2. Had it for like 30 minutes when I decided to upgrade to Android 2.3 since I knew it was released.
I installed the "LG Mobile Phone Software Update Tool" and the USB drivers for my phone, started upgrading. Suddenly the upgrade failed and I was told to take out the battery, put it back in and then reset the upgrade. I did this multiple times, but it kept doing the same thing. When I unplugged my phone, and rebooted it, it continues to boot up into the "S/W Upgrade" screen. What can I do?
I have tried to perform a "hard reset" and gets to the "Android system recovery utility" screen, but I don't know how the select the option "wipe date/factory reset".
I managed to get my phone work again, after spending almost the whole day working on it. I tried almost everything on desktop computer, and the flashing always died during the process, so I was about to give up, but then I decided to try once on my laptop, and that worked. I managed to use Smartflash and a stock rom, and now my is working AND running 2.3

Well, I was using V28A until the last 30 minutes. Then I saw that there was an update so I thought "Let's try it". As usual I decided to use SmartFlashTool but after 30 seconds, it said "connection timeout" and since that moment I'm trying to get my phone recognized but I only get a "Unknown device". I tried also in my father's computer to install freshly the needed drivers, then tried KDZ Updater (using the trick to be able to use it), SmartFlashTool - even though the phone wasn't recognized - without success.
Has someone any idea ? I let it in S/W Upgrade mode, being afraid of not seing it boot again.

EDIT 1 : My phone was getting so hot I decided to keep out the battery and then put it again (I was ready to give it to repair being angry of losing my phone - and... it booted as if nothing happened ? Then I went again into S/W Upgrade mode and it was recognized. So... what went wrong before ?
EDIT 2 : This time it worked ! But I would like to understand what caused that "temporary" error because it had erased something before setting flash adress (which failed). Or is my phone kind enough today because mom's birthday ?
I switched off my Lumia but it was taking too long so I removed battery after that when I started it was keep showing me sad smiley on blue screen.
I tried to Hard reset but it didn't work.
I used Windows Phone Recovery Tool but it didn't work too.and after trying 3-4 times now its showing "UEFI error 1" and after 2 seconds its showing "ERROR: Unable to find a bootable option. Press any key to shut down."
Help me fix this.

I don't think you can solve it by your own
Go to a Nokia care or Microsoft center in your nearby
I am having same problem on my Lumia 830, Its not detecting by Windows device recovery tool also.
unfortunately the process error
getting errors for everything so I cant get access to the reset or turn password off as I cant hard reset either as it says failed
is there another way I can sort this its a xt1068
it mostly shows this Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped
I have a same problem. Its a hardbrick witout solution :/
