Hi,
I have nexus 6 that I bought thru project fi and updated it to 4.1.1 without any prior root or bootloader unlock. Can I still bootloader unlock and root?

the nexus 6 does not nor can not run android 4.1, im assuming that you meant android 5.1.1.. anyways, its a nexus, you can always unlock the bootloader and root it.

Oops yes I meant 5.1.1, Thank you!

Stuck at 5.1

I have a nexus 6 pure stock, non-carrier, factory locked boot loader, never rooted, had it about a month. Should I be expecting an OTA upgrade to 5.1.1? My updater seems to check daily but I'm still on 5.1 / build LMY47D.

You have no sim card in the device? Being on LMY47D, you should get the Z update.

I *do* have a SIM card in the device. I'm on the StraightTalk (AT&T) network. When I said "non-carrier", I meant non-carrier branded.
Pull the SIM out and then try checking for the update
I think that suggestion was tongue-in-cheek, but I tried it anyway. Still no update.

No.
No, it was serious. Reboot without the sim installed.

Yeah, pulled out the SIM, rebooted, searched for update. Still nothing.
Manually flash the OTA? Beats waiting

huh, sorry, it worked for me to get to 5.1 back then
I will try this, as I see that my VZW N6 is also stuck on 5.1 and won't find an update... I will try removing the SIM, and if that doesn't work, use Wug's toolkit to flash it...
EDIT, pulling the SIM didn't work for me either... Which build number do I want? What's the most recent one for the VZW variant?

this works for every single android version, on every single nexus device

Anyone get 6.0 OTA yet?

Not talking about links to do it yourself. I'm talking about the update being pushed to your phone.
My Nexus 6 is on AT&T (LMY48M), and I haven't received the update yet.
AT&T will be a little slow bro, you'll have to flash factory if you want it now! I am downloading as we speak.

Mine's the factory unlocked version. I'm just using it on AT&T. I think I'll be fine
Also, both my Nexus 7 and Nexus 9 have not received the OTA update as well.

Which variant of the Galaxy S6 do you have?

us note 9

Is any work being done to try and root the us version or has everyone given up on that happening
It's not physically possible, bootloader is locked.

No it's possible.... But very hard they had some bootloader locked phones rooted and with twrp ... But the last few have been no go...s9 still isn't rooted... You need to find a exploit that allows you to get su access and sadly most of the people that were doing such things now make money with the phone manufactures on the other side.. Keeping phones locked down
