Hello,
I need a feature that you can go to the diamond sleep mode in tomtom navigation and this application will still work. For example in riding a motorbike if you have the diamond in a pocket (navigation via voice and need to safe battery)
Do you have some idea how to config this?
Thanks!
I wonder as well. If I want to save a track (KML file) when i'm hinking I want the unit to be in sleep mode, but that the tracking continues so that I can see my hiking trail in Google Earth later. Is this possible?
No, it is not because the GPS receving unit is useless by itself... it always requires a software to read and use the data it produces (a navigator, a speedometer or a simple NMEA logger). When a WM device is in sleep mode the CPU is not working so you can not elaborate/save such data.
However if you want to save battery you can use a display switcher like the one included in psShutXP to switch off the display while the unit is still working.
OK, thank you ....
Hello,
I tried it but if you use the screen off function e. g. with the psShutXP or the AB Button Plus then tomtom stop working. So I still don't know how to switch off the display while tomtom is working.
I appreciate next hint, thanks!
i haven't tried this yet, but the thing is, after you shut down the screen with psshutxp, ur phone is still gonna go into sleep mode once the prescribed time limit lapses...i'm talkin about the duration set in the power settings
so the way to do this MAY BE to change the duration in 'power off in' settings tab, and then use psshutxp to turn off the display
I recently installed miCoach, but I got a problem with the GPS (beside the usual inaccuracy).
After 2-3 minutes that the screen goes off, the GPS just doesn't work anymore > the symbol at the top dissapears and then I have to toggle the GPS icon in the taskbar to regain the GPS.
Is there some kind of energy saving option to keep the damn GPS on when the screen is off?
I'm running JVB stock deodexed.
When my phone times out (screen turns out) i turn the screen on by pressing home button (or any other button) but sometimes the screen turns on in a very low opacity brightness, and i cant use anything, touchscreen doesnt work. I see my home desktop but in a very low opacity. Normally it goes normally bright in a minute. But it's very annoying when i want to use my phone quickly. When this happens my battery is usually under 30%.
specs: s plus

castagnait kernel
"automatic brightness" is disabled
How do i fix this? please help
Something strange happened this morning.....
I was tapping the brightness button in the power widget to dim the screen.
The brightness button in the power control widget somehow switched modes.
It now shows an "A" inside the starburst. Automatic?????????? (see attached screen shot) and the brightness is stuck at medium.
And I can no longer change the brightness with the button or the brightness settings.
I can move the brightness slider back and forth and hit OK and the brightness won't change.
Nor can I turn Automatic Brightness on or off (although I don't know if this ever worked... I never used it).
I have no idea how this happened or how to get it back to normal.
?????????????????????
Fixed... with big hammer
I decided to do a factory reset to see if it would fix this... all my stuff is on an SD card and Google will restore all my apps.
This worked... the power widget is back to normal.
I want to use some navigation or tracker apps for walking and hiking. But every app stops working in background or if i turn off the display.
Also i can't select 'allow gps All the time', it jumps instandly back to 'only while using the app'.
miui.eu latest version.
Please help.
Install this & enable background service to keep the sensor running even with screen off. (Keep gps enabled in background)

Background battery consumption might be a bit higher so do keep that in mind.
