[MOD] S6 boot sound removal tool - Galaxy S6 Themes and Apps

Like my other zips, this is a simple script that removes something via recovery or flashfire.
This zip removes the annoying boot sound that wakes up your wife at midnight, when your trying to sneak in some flashing time before sleep.
Enjoy, and hit thanks, thanks.

[MOD] Aperture Science boot & shutdown

So... I got bored, and decided to make a custom boot animation/sound & shutdown animation/sound based on one of my favorite video games Portal.
Then I decided that having it as a CWM update would be so much easier if people wanted to use it. So, for everyone who wants to try it out... http://hardcorepooka.com/android/ApertureScienceUpdate.zip
Flash the update through CWM...
1. Choose "install zip from sdcard"
2. Choose "choose zip from sdcard"
3. Select ApertureScienceUpdate.zip
4. Choose yes.
5. Enjoy your new startup/shutdown
Keep in mind you'll need a kernel that supports bootanimation.zips for the boot animation to work. The rest will work without such a kernel.
Disclaimer: I take no responsibility if you brick your phone, burn down your house, or any other bad stuff that might happen. You do this at your own risk. I and others have tested this and it works fine for us. Your mileage may vary.
Updated: Also, I remade the boot animation in white as well.... http://hardcorepooka.com/android/white-bootanimation.zip
This is just the boot animation .zip, no sound, no shutdown animation.
Aw, the file is no longer hosted
Can anyone post another link to it?

it's available within Rom Manager, under SonofSkywalker3's Blackhole custom ROM
The link above doesn't work, and I have cheapo Rom Manager... can someone fix the link?
Try PMing Pooka. I tried downloading it from Rom Manager but got a "Download error"
I installed this, and now when I flash a new boot/shutdown animation the aperture science logo still shows up at the end of the shutdown animation. The boot animation works perfectly though. Any idea how to fix this? I've flashed a deletebootani.zip, but that didn't seem to fix it either.

I tried PMing him but I got no response :/
Anyone have it from when they downloaded it?
I want this... somebody please reupload. been trying to find one of these since I got my phone.

Original link updated. Added white boot animation as well. Sorry guys, been away from XDA for a while.
HTC Aria support?
Is it possible I could install this on my Aria with the Liberated FR008 ROM? Thanks!
P.s. I was thinking of installing it manually and doing it through Root Explorer so I could save my originial boot animation.

The white one you can install manually. The CWM update you can just extract the boot animation out of and install manually.

You need to remove the files from /system/media/video/shutdown
The problem is that my shutdown animation has more frames than whatever shutdown ani you have replaced it with.

Which one? The white one you just move the zip to /data/local/bootanimation.zip
For the orange one you need to open up the update zip and remove the bootanimation.zip from it, then move it to /data/local/
Where is the boot and lockscreen shown in this utube vid with the sound ect.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gg23Tvkjonc
It kicks butt and I so want it!
Ok got the boot screen to work but my phone just boots to fast for it to have time to play lol sound and everything works and I checked it as I turned off the phone and it played sound and animation, the only thing missing is the lockscreen from the vid anyone know where to get it?
Lockscreen is from the theme I had at the time... Frost's Remix NexTheme I believe... should be somewhere in this forum.

[04/06] Download openZIO v.1.0!!!

Its been weeks in the making (and weeks in the learning as well)and we've finally got a release to put out.
Much props go out to Sorry_8D (for compiling .9 images), sinisin, mattix7242, echobinary and beata|coyote (for testing this theme for stability).
Last but not least: RedmanX, and Crawling @ irc.freenode.net for some help in sticky situations.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION!!!!!
Please.... Please.... PLEASE!!! Follow directions! If you don't know how to use recovery, STOP... DONT INSTALL THE THEME -- Go read up on clockworkmod recovery, get familiar, then come back and give it a shot!!!
1) First, you need to go HERE to learn how to use clockworkmod recovery with our devices. If you already know this, goto step 2.
2) Download zip and push it to the root of your SDCard.
3) Fastboot boot into clockworkmod Recovery.
4) BACKUP YOUR ROM!
5) Once backed up, clear cache and dalvik cache using clockwork recovery ("wipe cache partition" and "advanced setting -> Wipe Dalvik Cache")
6) Install zip from SDCard
7) Marvel at new Shiny.
Download link at the bottom of this thread.
Features include:
Custom Black Status Bar.
Dark Gray / Black Notification area (statusbar expanded).
All Status Bar text changed to white.
Changed all statusbar icons to high res. color icons.
Changed battery meter to read out percentage level (every 5%).
Got rid of "Roaming Indicator Off" msg on notification bar and replaced with "Kyocera ZIO".
Removed "Roaming Indicator Off" msg from Lockscreen.
Added a Custom Boot Animation (replacing cricket AND android logo)
Changed colors of all yellow/orange pngs to cyan/green.
Changed Font.
Added "Reboot" option to Power Menu.
Things/issues we know about:
Homescreen focus background is still orange -- working on a fix
Not all apps will conform to "white text" in the expanded status bar. Some will remain black. This is something that is hard to change because it is app specific in most cases. I've made the expandedview a gray color in the meantime so you can still read black text on it -- working on a fix
With the Custom reboot power menu, and battery polling readout, thats just 2 more widgets you can take off your homescreen!
Lets have a moment of Silence for the Roaming Indicator......

Enjoy all.

Thanks for all the hard work guys!!!! it works great and looks good, I even retained my kyocera splash screen. I guess with this, people like me can start making custom themes. Yay!!! couple of questions:
1. after compiling the .zip did you have to sign the package?
2. If yes to #1 what did you use to sign it?
3. What are you using to make the boot animation?
4. In theory - with clockwork working we should be able to flash other roms as well, right?
Fate... did you do a nandroid backup?
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
In theory yes we could start to use other roms but its risky. Do a nandroid backup first, although others lost the Kyocera splash after using nandroid.

I did in fact do a nandroid back up. I was really surprised to see the "kyocera" splash screen when I rebooted after pushing the open Zio theme.
You only lose the kyocera logo if you "recover" from a backup. Just pushing framework doesn't effect the kyocera logo.
So I can backup with no worries?
I've been avoiding nandroid to preserve the splash for extraction.
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
Yes, the Kyocera Logo will stay until you run a Nand restore. After that it turns to the lovely white bar.
Awesome
Thanks much for the the theme. It looks AMAZING compared to stock! Im surprised such an inexpensive phone can do so much! This is the closest thing to a custom ROM we have and so far im loving the changes youve made. Ill continue to test and will report back.
PS
If anyone else has a Win 7 X64 system and is having trouble getting everything up and running, drop me a PM
Hi, does anyone know if this theme can also be applied to the Sprint Sanyo Zio?
As long as your on 2.2 framework. From what I've heard sprint stopped the 2.2 update. You are welcome to be the first sprint tester for openzio themes. Check to see if your on 2.2 or 2.1 before trying... be cautious because I can't help you if you brick it.
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
I actually updated to 2.2 the first day it was pushed out - but wasn't aware that they stopped it...
I shouldn't have any issues with the Clockwork recovery install - should i?
Thanks!
Do not install rom manager from the market. Use the openzio recovery and do not flash it. fastboot boot openzio-clocworkmod-recovery.img something like that.
You can do a nandroid backup but I strongly reccomend extracting your stock boot.img recovery.img and system.img using adb.

If you nandroid restore the stock boot splash image gets nerfed. Please research first, don't go crazy cause you want a theme.
Make sure you backup those 3 image files and remember do not flash the clockwork recovery, boot openzio's recovery.img
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
Yes. See the clockwork thread also for instructions to booting clockwork with fastboot. If you flash with rom manager you Bork the phone and being on Sprint we may not be able to do anything for you at that point. See the clockwork thread in the dev section.
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
Backup the boot.img then power down to fastboot. Boot openzio recovery, do a backup! And if you don't have a SD adapter like myself, Don't theme yet. Reboot.
Boot normally and enable USB storage, find clockworkmod in your SD and copy to your computer! You might need this.
Reboot to fastboot and boot recovery, now install from zip... not update.zip
If you don't do this exactly as I say I cannot help if you brick your phone.

How to restore stock boot animation.

If you no longer have your stock boot animation due to flashing a kernel or a rom now you can get it back just flash this zip using clockwork. This will not affected your phone in any other way. All it does is restore the boot animation

[Gobstopper] Bell GB 2.3.4/6 Updated 12-18-2011

AT&T is not supported at this time.Update:
This is a CWM zip for the official Bell GB in stock format.
Bell_GB_2.3.6.zip
(md5 d757a0c2c2bb830946956d2411d22ccd)
Bell_GB_2.3.4.zip
(md5 e23a8d0895a13d032a2f46227d2ad7b2)
Notes:
This is a stock Gobstopper like the Bell 2.2.2 one, it is rooted but not deodexed.
It includes my auto ram fixer, so if your recovery doesn't have the ram fix, it will halt and fix that for you, just reboot into CWM again and proceed.
-----------------------------------------------------------
This is a CWM zip with deodexed app and framework plus some tweaks. To be applied to the stock 2.3.4/6 Bell GB above.
Bell_GB_2.3.6_deodexed.zip
[md5 b14b0a745ecba630315fdd2cdb8643ba]
Bell_GB_2.3.4_deodexed.zip
(md5 b2c72557ce80777a8f0d695f1ab2b6ed)
Features
Deodexed app and framework (48MB free in /system)
multitouch tweak (up to 10)
screen pixel density set to 280 qHD
proximity delay set to 150
wifi channels set to 14
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval set to 90
ro.hdmi.mirror.enable set to true
busybox added back in (v1.18.5 with some things taken out) Implemented as a /system/busybox directory with the system path in /init.rc updated to have that included.
ro.secure=0 in boot.img
Includes mkbootimg and unpack binaries compiled for the phone for extracting the boot ramdisk and adding it back in on the fly during CWM recovery. So if you are using another kernel than stock these tweaks will still apply. Can also be used for kernel only CWM zips, leaving the ramdisk alone.
Talk2.apk added from Bell leak, Talk.apk renamed to Talk.apk.bak
framework-res.apk has lower brightness levels for auto display brightness, original available as framework-res.apk.bak
Fixes:
data wasn't being mounted, forgot to put userdata instead of data. It is there for deleting dalvik-cache of odexed files, if factory reset, non issue.
PATH update was always updating (sanity check)
added in unlocked ap20bl to avoid having to re-unlock via sbf if flashing in one session. You will need to reinstall a CWM recovery and re-apply ramfix as well if it doesn't include it, since the stock zip resets the boot and recovery images. Ramfix is applied to stock boot but CWM is overwritten by stock recovery.
added in ramfix instead of using cmdline.txt, issues with too large lines in the script. Will probably modify mkbootimg to read a file instead. EDIT done.
The following has been superceded by the files above.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a CWM zip for the Bell GB leak.
Requires:
Unlocked bootloader GO HERE
Unlocked CWM recovery installed (tenfar's).
Patience
Features:
Deodexed app and framework.
su and shsu preinstalled, install Superuser.apk from market for root.
Date text colour in notification dropdown fixed.
Tunes and app duplication fixed.
No bloat removed. You decide.
Includes webtop, preinstall, cdrom, cdt updates and misc other partitions.
multitouch hack
Ram fixed. (autodetects mbr:1100 and mbr:d00, stock Bell 2.3.4 kernel)
33MB free in system instead of 1MB.
Download and install
Thanks to eval- for the unlocked ap20 bl.
Thanks to michael0619 for the multitouch hack.

thanks for setting this up. had problems downloading thus me not getting back to you with my progress. Now I can look for what went wrong.

Is this a stock bell kernel?
If so can you pull it from this and host it D: Much needed.
Try flashing the zip through CWM recovery instead.

Use tenfar's unlocked CWM recovery, not rom manager. install from internal.
Internal mem needs to be mounted, and it's called internal by tenfar, probably sdcard by rom manager.

I wouldn't think so, however if you got there via pudding, then you just installed boot and system, maybe webtop, Whatever else is on your phone before that is still there. Should all be fine with an unlocked bootloader.
This CWM has the unlocked ap20 bootloader. Thanks eval-! Main reason for that is flashing multiple zips while in a CWM recovery session. (Since if you can flash it then you are already running an unlocked bootloader and it would otherwise be pointless, writing the same bl over itself. Attn. AT&T folks, your unlocked bl would change if you flashed this, danger.)
For instance if you flash back to stock using my Bell 2.2.2 gobstopper, you can flash to this one right away without losing the unlocked bootloader, or tenfar's CWM recovery. Not that that is should be necessary, but it's an option.
Cheers!
I ran through CWM and everything was good, after the reboot I started getting a whole bunch of FC's so I flashed again wiping the data and cache first. After the reboot on my second flash I'm getting less FC's but upon boot I'm getting an FC on com.motorola.service.main, I'm getting no data connectivity I figured that this was due to an APN issue so when I try setting one up I get an FC with com.android.settings
Any Ideas?

Hi,
Just to clear house I would go back to 2.2.2 and try again. I don't get that error.
I should probably add in the rest of the misc partitions ala the 2.2.2 gobstopper. (Takes forever to upload for me, 3.5 hours) What I implemented here were the changes made by the OTA, so you might still have some random junk left from prior to Orange GB.
Cheers!
Thanks for the assistance, I'll just use your 2.2.2 package to go right back to stock and start from scratch using your 2.3.4 package.
Thanks so much for your awesome packages!
Ok I ran your 2.2.2 Gobstopper package and it worked great, had data and everything no FCs at all. Then I unlocked the bootloader, installed CWM, and then installed this 2.3.4 package now I'm stuck at the motoblur hello screen with no data and when I try and look at the APNs I get the settings FC I posted before, and when I try and skip registration I get com.motorola.setup FC. I'm just not having any luck maybe I should just go back to 2.2.2 and wait for an OTA.
I've currently fastboot'd + erase everything that updates in this .zip.
Testing it out now, almost done installing the zip.
Will post updates.
Failed again.. the first thing that boots up is.
Sorry!
The process com.motorola.service.main has stopped unexpectedly.
FC.
Ok good so it is not only me.
Hi,
Sorry to hear you are having problems trying to duplicate now. Are you guys seeing 1100 or d00 on the screen when flashing. And is it only at motoblur setup?
Cheers!

January OTA update error

Hi Everyone
Just wondering if anyone has a problem with the current OTA update? Smallish 5MB file.
When my phone reboots I have a system error with the green Android man on his back.
Not Rooted, clean factory image install this weekend. So there shouldn't be any problems.
TIA
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Not rooted, or never been rooted? Is recovery stock too?
Yep completely stock. Needs to be for work. Have unlocked the bootloader, but not rooted.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
about how much of the bar gets filled before it fails? about 40%ish of the way done usually indicates system fingerprint verification failed. You can also try installing it through recovery sideloading and it will give you more detailed feedback while installing that might help you pinpoint the problem.
Thank you...
The update reboots to recovery and falls over immediately.
Will have a go at sideloading through recovery.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Go to your recovery, and wipe cache partition. Then, boot up, and wait for OTA to be pushed to you again - this time, it should install ok.
