[Q] Bricked Moto G after flashing Moto X Firmware - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Moto G Community!
I realize this is kind of an unusual case and would REALLY appreciate any advice/help you can provide me. After successfully unlocking the bootloader of my brand-spanking-new Moto G, I followed this guide by graffixnyc: Lollipop Root Achieved and used fastboot to boot an IMG file intended to root a Moto X (I'm a certified idiot, I know).
I did this a couple hours ago and now, my beautiful G is stuck on the Blue 'M' Screen, and is unresponsive to holding the PWR button or holding PWR + VOL DOWN. I'm hoping that it's in some sort of a loop, and after the battery drains it'll boot like normal.
The fastboot command was 'boot' and not 'flash', but who knows, it could have already patched my current boot.img in a bad way:
From the Moto X Thread:
It's boot img agnostic.. meaning you boot this boot.img, it actually takes the current boot.img on the device and injects root into it. So it uses whatever boot.img is currently on the device. So if you are on the .5 kernel it should work, if you're on the .6 kernel it works

So my friends, what do you think I should do?? ANY advice or help is apreaciated in a way you can't imagine. Thank you in advance for trying to help!!!

It resolved itself!!! PWR + VOL DOWN decided to work after about the 50th time! Thank you anyway!

Moto G 2nd gen XT1068 stops booting.

Yesterday I got my moto g 2nd gen battery drained to 0%. I managed to escape from bootloop and charge battery to 100%, but still I can't power it up. When I'm booting my moto g it shows motorola logo, three "worlds" and then I see black screen. . I would be very grateful if you would help me fixing that issue. //Sorry for my english ;/
I forgot to add, when i try to go into recovery mode it shows: "Boot up failed".

ok your phone is 100% recoverable if you can still get AP fasboot flash mode
i will sort instructions to help - as several ways to fix - 1st we try simple way
1) get to Ap fast boot mode (hold power and volume down until phone screen fully off and vibrates- count 1,2,3,4,5 and release release both button at same time - should be in AP fast boot mode)
2 use volume down (- ) minus to select recovery DO NOT touch power button
3) Use volume up (seems crazy but is the way) to enter recovery screen will go black
and the fallen android / red triangle comes up....
4) now hold power and quickly tap volume up... should enter recovery (this only works for lollipop) or for kitkat (use 4a)
4a)(optional for kitkat only) hold volume up and quickly tap power.... should enter recovery
5) in recovery volume down to wipe data/factory reset NOW use POWER to select (this take up to 5 mins to complete)
6) repeat with cache
7) reboot
phone should now work
Followed your steps

So I went recovery mode, did a factory reset and something strange happened..
It said ' E : can't ... /last log
E : can't ... /last call
E : can't .. /last ..
So i am assuming that it's something to do with motorola boot services, because it updated the day before this happened..
So now, I am trying to find the stock lollipop ota for my device and flash it!
Moto g 2nd gen stuck in boot
Hi everyone,
I have a moto g 2nd gen xt1064 us version, unlocked bootloader, code:3, the phone won't go past animation boot and blue motorola logo then shuts off. The screen turns black but i noticed a faint backlight on it and i have to press power button to completely shut it off.
Here is what i tried.
I booted into recovery and did a cache and data wipe, didnt work.
I flashed a stock firmware (5.02 btw) through fastboot with bootloader relock, everything went well, all steps successful but same result, wont go past anomation boot.
I noticed when i send lock bootlader command log says its successful but booloader is still unlocked
Any help would be appreciated and sorry for reviving this thread.

Same here, flashed 10 TWRP versions, no changes...
Flashed fix ¨warning¨logo, first boot was ok (only the logo) then again shows ¨warning logo¨
Flashed a entire original 6.0 ROM, no changes...
I have a Moto G2 and I woke up one day and it was off, when I tried to turn it on it wouldn't go past the "MOTOROLA" start up screen.
I have tried a soft reboot, hard reboot, factory reset, cache reset and I have done all of this with and without my SIM card in. I have done every step I could find but so far it won't move past. I know the phone itself is working because every time I call it my phone vibrates as if it were on. Is it time I just take it in or is there anything else I can do from home?
Happened to me too
This same thing just happened to my wife's Moto G 2nd Gen. When I try Wipe data/Factory reset, it says "formatting data...E: blkdiscard on partition /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc. 1/by-name/userdata failedData wipe failed"
Anyone ever seen this before?

Having this issue on my sister phone, I've had TWRP, I've managed to enter it, but I can't WIPE Data partition, I can't erase internal memory, cause it's giving me error, so I think the phone locked the mmc to read-only somehow...
Ok, so I've fastbooted to stock Marshmallow ROM (was on KitKat rom) but the phone yet have black screen of death, I think i'm gonna give it a shot and gonna open it up, remove the battery, let the phone without any charge and try again. Hope this helps.
Any other ideas?

You got a TWRP backup if so just Restore it. Are u able to enter fastboot mode ? If u can just try downloading stock KitKat firmware by googling it and filled by command
fastboot flashall .
Forgot to add u can shut it phone down by pressing the power button for about 15 secongs and then entering fastboot.
Source: Experience once I was such with a completely messed up ROM with no touch at all lol, and then I downloaded stock firmware by searching within XDA and flashed it.
Just press power + Vol down button and hold them till the screen goes off.. As soon as the screen goes off release them both.. Then after like 1-2 secs press them both again (power+vol down) and hold it for 5-8 secs.. Release them.. You'll be in your bootloader then.. From there you can install stock rom

[Q] Getting into Recovery, broken screen

Hey,
I've been reading along in the XDA forums for quiet some time now, and have found very useful information on multiple occasions. A general thanks! for that.
Right now I am trying to gain access to a Moto X 2013 (XT1052) with a broken/black screen. The phone is rooted and has a custom recovery installed. Unfortunately USB-debugging was disabled.
I am trying to gain adb-access in recovery in order to try and activate debugging as shown here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335799
The problem is, I can't get the Phone into recovery mode. fastboot boot recovery.img is disabled on the moto x.
When I'm in fastboot mode and press Vol-Down the phone immediately performs a normal reboot. On a non-broken Moto X Vol-Down and then Vol-Up should bring the phone in recovery.
Can anybody explain this behavior? Is there another way to access recovery?
Thanks in advance!
Lukas

Help me to Unbrick my Phone!

Hi guys! So I hard bricked my moto g2 when I flashed stock 5.0.2 rom and then tried updating it to stage fright update. I can't boot into anything. I did try to find a solution for this but all of them are quite confusing. Some posts say there is no way to bring the phone back and some just are confusing so please help me get my phone back. I wanna give it my last shot before I take it to service center.
I'm Also Facing same problem
Taking it to service center is not solution because they will tell you to change motherboard. We need a file blankflash for moto g 2014.But lenovo is not providing there is thread in xda so participate bricked phone thread moto g.:- https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/help/moto-g-2014-bricked-phone-poll-t3420791

Given that lenovo is not providing the blankflash file, what other options am I left with other than taking it to a service center. Any clue how much it may cost?

But what happened? It boots in fastboot? Press Vol- and Power and keep pressed, then release them and it goes in fastboot.
Or it is always off? You can try pressing power button and keep it pressed a lot of time, Motorola says i remember 20 seconds, but hold till 30/40 seconds and it force boot.
If it's always off, i don't know, but if you can go in fastboot you can try to flash a rom. Flash Marshmallow.

I'd be glad if I could go into fastboot. I've tried all above mentioned tricks and more with no result.
Same here!
