I can't open the Phone app. Everytime I do so, it gives me a popup saying Contacts has stopped. I checked Titanium and for some reason I have 3 different phone apps, and at least two different Contact apps with slightly different names. I tried disabling and wiping data on them with different combinations, but none worked. I can still receive calls and call from opening the Contacts app separately which works for some reason. Thing is when I first flashed the ROM, the phone dialer worked and I made several calls with it. It just suddenly stopped working the next day.
I'm on 5.1.1 using serajr's debloat ROM. Flashed over a pre-rooted Switzerland version of 5.1.1. Please help.

Hi Peeps,
For some strange reason my SGS has decided to stop sending sms. After hitting send the messages just get stuck on "sending"
I have checked the message centre number and the mms setting just in case. I have tried the sim in an old nokia and it texts just fine.
It was having intermittent issues with sms around a week ago, where it wouldnt send a message, so i would send the same one again and then both would send simultaneously. However now its not sending at all.
I am running Froyo.xwjp6 with kernel 2.6.32.9.
I have also tried instaling Handcent SMS but i just get the error "message not sent"
Thoughts on a postcard?
Same here, although trying handcent has allowed me to send, but strangely, will intermittently fail, im sure its a froyo bug.

I managed to fix it. Couldn't be bothered with trying to reflash the modem or even the os, so tried the Privacy-return to factory settings option just out of curiosity. Can't figure out what it did exactly but when it rebooted i had not lost any settings or applications, and all my home screen app shortcuts were still there. The only discernable difference was the lack of gadgets on the home screen, which I had to reinstall.
The important thing however is that messaging worked again. God knows why.
One susipicion I have is that this is due to my usage of Titanium Backup. I installed it when i was running Eclair, and each time i upgrade the OS i use it to restore my old system data and apps. Perhaps some change between Eclair and Froyo's messaging settings is being overwritten by and older version by Titanium. I suspect this as following the above factory restore I tried a Titanium restore and instantly it broke my messaging again. So I did the factory again and got them back. There wasn't really any need to use Titanium as I said before I didn't seem to lose any setting or apps, but did it anyway out due to that old cat's friend curiosity
Give it a go if u dare and see what happens
Let me know how u get on...
Ok so im still having the same problem.is there really noone out there with an idea?

Ok so i figured i would look for help here before ending up at a t-mobile store with my rooted g4.
My issue is as of yesterday my phone stopped being able to send sms. It receives them fine. And can place and receive calls fine. My bill is paid up and my service is A-OK. I have the same results on cellular or wifi calling. Text gets stuck as "sending". Then never sends or fails. Just stays as "sending" even after rebooting.
I'm running the 10n firmware, rooted and debloated. I have not changed any settings or any apps recently at all. It just sorta stopped.
I have tried:
-removing and cleaning my sim card
-clearing cache
-screaming at my phone
-turning off wifi
-canceling all pending texts, rebooting, clearing cache again
All with no luck. Any advice? Ideas? Theories?
I find myself constantly rebooting when this occurs, which is often.
It's the one disappointing problem with this phone.
Have you tried any other text apps, such as textra or handcent, just to see if it's your messaging app?
gonna try Textra next. Seems to be a popular suggestion.
Had this happened to me too. Tried Textra and it got better but still has hiccups
Tried Textra, Chop and a couple others. None as good as the OEM LG app. I think this phone just has wifi issues.
Title is pretty much explanatory of my issue. A friend of mine asked why I never reply to his texts, which made me curious. I'm using a brand new oneplus one and hadn't yet configured Amplify, so I asked him to text me, and it worked fine. I then limited the following: *netstats*, service state tracker, (anything with the words google, finsky, wearble, or sync (only google play services)) , and asked him to send a message again. Nothing. He sent 8 texts, I didn't receive a single one. He was receiving all of mine, though. So I tried unlimiting one by one until my limited list was empty again, and STILL wasn't receiving texts. I cleared data and uninstalled, and my SMS functions are still not working. I tried cleaning cache+dalvik from twrp, to no avail. My next move is to dirty flash, as soon as I'm done backing up everything. WTF?
after rooting successfully my phone using this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
it was great everything worked fine and installed a few apps to speed up my phone like trickster mod, etc. but then i followed the instructions for xposed installer and it worked great i even installed a few more in the recommended section. ok then i tried sending a message after i received it and it went directly to sending failed and it was a bit strange because this wasn't he first time i rooted this phone. i restored it a couple of times before ad succeeded and the default messaging app was working like it should bit no luck and that why i think xposed installer is the one that messed up the messaging system. also when i clear its data and use it works for about 1 minute then goes back to not sending anything.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
P.S. i also tried to fix it by updating the pdu or something but didn't work:crying: couldn't find the link will update if found.
I had that problem on an international rom once. To work around it, I had to put "+1" in front of the number to send a text. It got annoying so I switched roms.

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this, I searched other threads for also other models of Xiaomi phones but everything I tried is not helping.
Basically, I'm not receiving all texts. I am receiving some (from certain networks), but not receiving the rest, including authentication codes from all services/apps. My phone is up to date software wise (MIUI 14.0.3). My messaging app is Google Messages and that's what was installed as default when I bought the phone. This has been going on for a few days, can't tell how long exactly but I noticed on Friday. Things I've tried so far:
- the standard of rebooting the phone, reinserting sim card, deleting cache in messaging app, putting my simcard into the 2nd slot
- trying a different messaging app,
- checking the smsc number,
- making sure my messaging app has autostart on,
- making sure miui optimisation is on in developer settings (saw it worked for some people - not me unforch)
- contacted my network provider who weren't able to help me troubleshoot this as everything seems fine on their end.
Does anyone else have an idea what could help? I'm trying to avoid doing a factory reset cause if this doesn't work I'll have to log into my apps again and a lot of them require a verification sms to come through to log in and obviously these are not coming through so I'll be stuck
Many thanks
