Do only the official S-View and Clear View cases feature smart wake/auto on, or is it possible to enable it with other cases?
I would quite like to know the same. I just got a Otterbox Strada case for my S6. I know you can download proximity sensor apps but was wondering if it could just be enabled in settings somehow instead...?

Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to calibrate the proximity sensor on the Moto G2? Essentially I'm planing on getting a wallet case for my phone, but after trying a few smart cover apps out, I haven't had any luck with getting the screen to turn off and on automatically. I know there is a magnet sensor on the right edge of the phone for the Flip Shell cases provided by Motorola that works the same way, but I would like to be able to do that with the proximity sensor.
Alternatively, if anyone knows of a good wallet case for the Moto G2 that makes use of the magnetic sensor, then that'd be awesome too.
Is there any way to disable the magnetic sensor on the N6? I have a smart cover that keeps constantly turning the screen on in my pocket and it's killing my battery. It is a very nice luxury case and I don't want to damage it or replace with another cover. I tried finding an app that would do it but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dont think there is a way to disable it yet.
Although i read elsewhere its located in /sys/module/ and adding a '0' or 'false' to the value will disable. Issue is still not located the magnetic sensor, older devices it was in /sys/module/lid/parameters/lid_enabled.
But no luck on N6 yet
has anyone had any luck using an app to accomplish this?

Found nothing to disable the magnet sensor.
Installed Xposed and a MagnetOff app. But it did not disable the magnet sensor.
Because I cannot disable that feature, I decided to use it.
On the outside of my belt case I attached a small magnet (glue) and now my screen is always off when the N6 is in the case.
When I take the N6 out of the case the screen turns on. No need for pressing a button.

you sure the screen is always off when it's in your case? like the OP, I found that my screen would periodically come on when using a flip case that has the auto on feature (while closed).

When de magnet is close to the circle with the Motorola logo the screen is switched off.
I am using a flat neodymium magnet with a diamater of 10 mm.
Because the case is partly open at the top, I can see that the screen is really off when the N6 is in the belt case.

When you are unsure if the screens will be turned off when the N6 is in the case, use a stronger magnet.
I mounted with glue a magnet at the outside and put a second one on the inside.
So I am using two small magnets.
any developer willing to dig into this issue to try to find a solution?
Hello,
I would like to try an official S-View case (the one with a small window up top, NOT the clear-view case), but I don't understand how it works with the Always-On Display. The Always-On display moves up and down the screen to prevent burn-in, but sometimes it seems to be displayed lower than the S-View window, which would defeat the purpose if the S-View case does not modify its behavior.
Does anyone have this case and used it with the Always-On Display ? Are there any moments when the display text is displayed outside of the S-View window and thus not visible ?
Thanks !
Not using one but plan to get it. I'd imagine always on display will be unavailable with the s-view cover or the clear view cover for that matter.
Always On Display is not available when you use Clear View Cover.
I have the S-View Cover and the Always On Display function does not work with it. I'm thinking about getting the LED flip cover.
Thanks everyone. It seems that many people on other forums are also upset that the always-on display does not work with the case, and not even with the Clear View case ! Another proof (combined with the quite high battery drain and lack of full notification display) that the Always-On Display was an afterthought from Samsung, they didn't plan it from the beginning. Hopefully a software update addresses these issues, until then I can't see the reason to get one of these cases.
I love this case..the led view is hard plastic and this one, all though fake, feels like leather.
No always on, but I don't care. The ability to take pics cover open, closed or folded over is fantastic. Also see all the notifications without opening. Had one on my note 4 and I'll get one on note6 or s8.
I just received this leather wallet case from AliExpress:

I like the build, form and function of the case, but it has been causing my phone to behave VERY strangely making my phone unusable. Opening/closing the case causes the phone to behave as though I have removed/replaced the S-Pen stylus.
To be more specific:
1. When the phone is locked and I open the flip on the case, I hear the same sound as when I remove the S-Pen stylus and S-Note opens in the locked screen mode.
2. When the phone is unlocked and I open the flip case, I hear the sound and the S-Pen selection wheel opens.
Very strange.
Has anyone else seen anything like this with any other case?
Might there be a magnet in the flip part of the case that is causing this behavior?
Is there a software setting that my alleviate the strange behavior?
Thanks in advance,
Rich
There must be a magnet somewhere in the case

Has anyone got a flip cover for this phone that turns the screen off when you close it? Various reviews mention this phone has a hall sensor (Eg. nokiamob.net review). I installed a multi-sensor test app and can see a magnetic sensor there that shows changing readings when I waive a magnet over it, but opening or closing the case does not affect the screen. This work for anyone ?

I've been looking into the cases of this phone since i got it on the first day of launch. Sadly to date there is none. Maybe Nokia will release a case that does so and enable thay feature in a future update.
