If you are using TWRP, try wiping
cache+dalvic cache+android secure
Did not work
Do your ROM have GApps?
If not, download appropriate GApps and flash it.
Also try clean flashing ROM.
How do you do a clean flash?
I installed philz recovery. In it i went and selected delete data to install a new rom.
Didn't help.
Then i tried format system, format data and all those other format options.
Didn't help.
Then i tried
Clean dalvik cache and format phone and clean cache.
Didn't help.
By the way. I did not lock my bootloader as mentioned in those instructions above. Is it cause of that?
And yes. I had one country's rom before. So this is of another country, does that cause such a problem?
Thanks alot bro
Restart your phone..else re flash it
Sent from my Micromax A110 using XDA Free mobile app
Guys i fixed it. Yayyyy.
I forgot to flash one of the system files which was not mentioned in the instructions.
Thanks aloooooot for helping me

OR
Reflash ROM
Ok. Got the folder back. Fixed the wifi issue also.

Welcome
also when you get to this situation then just go to recovery and wipe data
what four files package does is it have data.rfs which wipe the data while flashing and no bootloop appears
so actually four files are not compulsary but it will also work without any problem

Hi all,
Got a strange problem.. I'm using Nik project x v4.1 with .11 radio...today i got poor network signal, so I flashed radio again n it's working fine.
Then I planned to flash xcs kernel 2.2 and faceunlock for this Rom.
When I am recovery, I got message like. "You are in safe mode, please wipe cache. If u flashed hboot.img then format system"
I took nandroid and
1. fixed permission
2. Wiped cache
3. Format system
4. Flashed both zip files
When everything got over and upon clucking power menu->reboot got alert
"You are In safe mode. Unable to access system partitions. Please format system partition except sd. Reboot in recovery. Yes or no"
I clicked no and followed steps to install new Rom (wipe data factory, wipe cache n dalvik, format system, format partition except sd )restored my nandroid backup and again got same message that
"You are In safe mode. Unable to access system partitions. Please format system partition except sd. Reboot in recovery. Yes or no"
Please help me. Worrying that my mobile will be bricked. Please guide me to get rid off this..
Edit: I clicked reboot and my mobile booted normally. But under power menu, on clicking reboot, got into same problem. Please help me to avoid this. Worry something wrong in my mobile!!

When you formatted the /system partition, you wiped out Nik's ROM and then you only flashed a new kernel and a patch. That is why it you get the Unable to access system partitions.
You need to flash Nik's ROM again, then flash the kernel and then flash the patch.

Thanks tpbklake. Before formatting systems partition, I have taken nandroid backup. I restored nandroid but after that too, I got same alert.
Ok, I'll start from beginning. After flashing Nik Rom again, can I restore data.img from my nandroid.?

You changed the radio. Either gb -> ics or ics -> gb and this causes some change in the partition layout that's why recovery is asking you to format. What I don't understand is why you didn't just format the cache partition like it told you to. It would have saved us all some time.

I haven't changed the radio of two different versions. Earlier I was in ICS radio .11M and again flashed the same ICS radio..11M) Yes, I did cache format as well as instructed.
While flashing radio which supports same OS version, am I need to wipe cache or its not required?

If that's what the recovery is telling you to do, I would be inclined to agree.
So I was on cm10.2 . Today i just wanted to use some stock experience for sometime as my exams are near so i wanted a stable rom.
So i tried to restore the Nand Backup from CWM. Restore was successful , Phone Boots everything is fine till that. After i enter to the setup wizard(Coz i wiped the data before making the backup) this error : Unfortunately the process com.google.gapps has stopped.
If i skip this then Setup Wizard Force Closes and then am not able to access anything on the phone. Everything seems to be force closing randomly?
Any Solution?

You have CM10.2 GAPPS (4.3) on 4.1.2 system. That is the problem. You should wipe system and preload partition before you did restore. Try it now again. Do wipes and restore backup again. Gapps are not in data paritition.
Im having a similar issue
Hi! the same is happening to me, but im sure i flashed the right gapps from cwm. also, i tryed to restore a previous back up, the restore seems succesfull but when i boot i still see the setup wizard, even when i flash the right gapps after restore. I tryed cleaning caché, doing a factory reset. I dont know what else to do. The last thing i was doing with my working phone was trying (but i uninstalled it after a while) swapper2. but i letft my sd card only with fat32 as in the begining.

I know I had similiar problems when I was going from CM to stock. I can't remember what exacly I did to solve it. I will look on some posts I wrote before. You have problems with gapps, that ia why it force close.
P.S. Solution for someone was to flash some custom ROM. Try with that.

Put CoCore with TWRP on SD and install it from CWM.
I had same problem. I never use GAPPS, so I have not flashed the zip. Still I encountered this strange problem.
I found two possible methods which may help.
To restore 'stock JB backup' you must flash CM 10.1(4.2.2) or CM 10(4.1) and make sure you wipe data, cache and dalvik-c before and after flashing.
The from CM 10.1/10 recovery restore the stock JB backup.
If that did not work, the use ODIN to flash the stock JB firmware and then flash custom recovery. With this recovery you can restore either data or all of the partitions. GOOD LUCK

can i restore my cwm backups from TWRP?
---------- Post added at 08:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 PM ----------
well... after installing cocore with TWRP and then flashing gapps 4.1.2 from there, the problem persist. As i said before, after flashing stock rom from odin, then gapps from any recovery, the problem persist. wt* am i doing wrong!?
let me remember you, I am not who started this thread, but i have a similar issue.
Thanks
Edit: in order to bring you clues in case you may help me. I noticed that the keyboard doesnt show up if i try to write the password of the wi-fi network in setup wizard, also gapps still crashing as soon the phone boots and setup wizard after i try to skip it.
later edit: HEY HEY HEY! i noticed in "show log" option in cwm that after restoring the backup there are two issues:
I: Can't format unknow volume: /external_sd
I: Can't partition unsafe device: /dev/block/mmcblk0p8
hmmm... i didn't expect that.
keep updating: both cyanogen 10.0 and 10.2 don't even boot. they stay stucked in the pretty loading screen.
didn't find anything helpfull to do from recovery or odin
any clue?
just for the record (if anyone came here looking for an answer) i did a downgrade to 2.3.6 with this guide: (it is in spanish, but provides all the files and im sure you can find one in your language)
grupoandroid . com/topic/67294-gbguia-downgrade-de-jb-a-gb/ (delete spaces)
now i will upgrade to JB again, i hope that without problems.
edit: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
after 2.3.6 working without issues, flashed 4.1.2 from sammobile with odin (the same .md5 that i had for months!) and the problem came again. gapps error, and couldnt finish the setup wizard....

Ok, try to install some ROM now. I remember that someone solved with that. But manual mount system and preload partitions just in case.
I had similar problems after coming back from CM10 before.
If that do not help, (have CWM or TWRP) put some ROM zip on SD - wipe ALL (cache, dalvik cache, system, preload, factory reset) and install ROM again.

I was surprised that after flashing stock ROM by ODIN, phone was not cleaned from the user data.
I mean: account settings, applications installed by user, etc.
I know that flashing dont erase data from internal/external SD card, but why all data was still exist?
Only Wipe Data / Factory Reset will erase all user data?
Btw, Merry Xmas

Nope, factory reset will not erase all user data. Go into setting/storage and delete from there (not sure cause I didn't have the device now). If you want to erase using odin, tick the repartition box while flashing the firmware. This is the easiest way I think.
Odin flash doesn't wipe user apps and their data, but it may cause bugs if you come from another ROM...
E.g : if u soft bricked on stock JB, just odin flash is necessary.
for other ROMs, it may or may not lag.
I will describe my way.
I tried to install CM 10.2
I did factory reset, next steps follow procedure.
When I did first start, unfortunately keyboard stop working, so my cyjanogen install failed and I decided back to old system using backup.
After restore and start, phone required settings like on first start after factory reset.
Lol, big surprise.
Ok, I entered necessary information but after reset -
again same like after factory reset
I tried from another backup with same result.
Hmm, big mess.
So I flash stock ROM by Odin.
And new surprise - phone with fresh system and all my own settings and applications from last restore.
Two disappointments:
1. Restore from backup does not cause a return to the initial state.
2. Flash ROM by Odin don't make factory state of phone.
I have question, if format partitions: system and data and next restore backup will do real state phone on this backup?

1. Almost every restore from backup for me it returned phone on state when backup was made. Only if my backup was bad (did not have enough place on sd for backup or something corrupted it).
2. Flashing stock ROM by Odin do not touch data partition (or folder whatever it is). So if you want to erase that, you need to make factory reset. It is like that on every Samsung Android device - I am not sure for other, never used.
When you come back from any CM10.2, Omni 4.3 and CM11 based ROM - first flash stock with Odin, do factory reset - and after that restore backup (ofcourse first root, install CoCore kernel for CWM before restore - you can't use restore in stock recovery).
Tnx for answers.
This is weird that format system partition not enough to get rid of the CM
But I checked this again and exactly after refresh ROM by Odin - restore my settings and data works fine.
Hmm imo this is mess in whole Android system

Explanation for that, TeamJanica used preload partition for swap, and it is patitioned in other format than the one stock ROM use. That partition is not used on CM for files, but it has it's use on stock based ROM.

supposedly you have downloaded the stock FW, flash via Odin with re-partition ticked. if it fails, extract the PIT file from CSC_OMC_OXM_XXX save it in a location and load it at the pit session via Odin the re-flash again with re-partition ticked.

Flashing something you don't know isn't always good lol, it enables FORCE DECRYPTION, It was encrypted data that was stopping you from booting, a data format would've worked too. Anyway good to hear you've booted.

I agree that it might not be the best idea to flash something that you don't really know but as I mentioned in my post I already tried data format and it didn't help. I was still stuck in bootloop to TWRP recovery.
I did read somewhere that someone else with the same issue (bootloop) tried that method and it worked for him so decided to give it a try.
