Black border on boot animations?

Hi all. My Moto X is unlocked and I've been trying to get a custom boot animation on it by switching out the bootanimation.zip in the system/media folder (using ROM toolbox to facilitate this). Problem is every boot animation is too small and has a huge black border around it when I boot up. I gave up and downloaded the stock one and tried to go back to that and... STILL the black border. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Bump.
Bada bing bada bump.
It's because those boot animations are made for a different size screen. You have 3 options. You can either grab the boot animation, extract it, resize the images, then zip it back up, or you could find a boot animation for your X, or you can make one yourself.

That's the weird thing. I grabbed the official Moto X boot animation, and the Moto X is only 720p anyway (pretty small by smartphone standards). What dimensions should I be changing it to?

If it is the official Moto X boot animation then try placing it in system/media manually. You may want to back up the current boot animation first.

Moto G XT1068 android 5.0 not booting TWRP

Hello xda forums sorry if im posting in the section but I don't really know where it goes.
My Moto G XT1068 running android 5.0 doesnt boot into TWRP. To boot into TWRP i use the fastboot boot command instead of flashing and whenever i type in the command it starts to boot and shows the moto bootup page thing and then the screen goes black, the moto bootup page then just starts flashing. if you could help me that would be great because i forgot to root after i had installed lollipop and i also have a backup what i cant delete and is taking up most of my storage. if you can help that will be great.

[Q] Moto X 2013 - Boot Animation

Hello everyone,
I have a boot loader unlocked Moto X 2013, running stock lollipop 5.1 222.21.15.ghost_row.AsiaRetail.en.03. Previously i had rooted and installed various custom ROM but in order to get the lollipop updated flashed stock firmware through RSD lite and successfully got the lollipop update. Recently the phone had been acting weridly with apps crashing or getting stuck so i manually cleared the cache and factory reset through recovery.
Since then the phone is working perfectly but the boot animation has changed and i cant find any reference or image of this boot animation on the net plus i dont like it at all. Any one else faced this issue and how do i get it back to the stock boot animation??

Whenever Motorola Boot Services app receives an update (or after a System Update) we can expect a new boot animation.
Previously there have been 3 or 4 boot animations. (one during FIFA Worldcuo, one during Spring, etc) and till now they were seasonal (the old animation got back after few weeks)

moto g2 suddenly reboots

my moto g2 xt1068 running on stock android L 5.02, suddenly got stuck in a boot loop and was unable to boot. I tried all the recovery options including a factory reset, but in vain. Finally i downgraded to stock kitkat 4.4.4 after unlocking the bootloader. Now it starts up and runs fine until i try and log into my google account or install a few apps, in which case it goes into boot loop again ..... i am suspecting a few bad blocks in the internal memory....can anybody please help me???

Moto X XT1058 - Paperweight?

Hi! I have a Moto X XT1058 (1st Gen). Suddenly, just after changing the time because of daylight saving, the phone hanged up and restarted. And, got stucked at Moto (Big M) logo. After a few seconds (15-20), it reboots and continues in an infinite looping. If i try to enter in Recovery Mode, the same thing happens.
I tried:
- restore to a stock rom (installation OK but problem persists) - XT1058_RETAIL-BR_4.4.4_KXA21.12-L1.26_52_cid12_CFC_1FF (using RSD);
- reinstall android 5.1 - GHOST_RETBR_5.1_LPAS23.12-21.7-1_cid12_CFC (using RSD and fastboot commands);
- change the restore img to twrp or other (install OK but won't initialize).
PS1: the first time i tried to install the stock rom 4.4.4, i got errors for gpt.bin and motoboot.bin (after that i removed the lines in the xml file while using the RSD and 'worked' - installed but not solved the problem) ;
PS2: for a few times, the phone booted properly but, rebooted after few seconds (i could even choose wireless network). Just once i could enter in twrp but, same thing happened.
Question is: any chance to save it?
Thanks!
Hi! Any chances?
