Good morning XDA community! I recently bought myself the Moto X 2014, saved up and went for it! I have had the phone for about a month and after three weeks I noticed the bezel at the edge of the screen coming loose a bit. The phone has not been dropped!! I have been nothing but careful with it. I have attached some images of the issue four weeks on and as you can see it is progressively getting worse!!! Is anyone else having this issue? And is there a way to fix the issue? I have contacted Motorola but seem to not get any response from them :/
Get it replaced ...if u still have warranty...

Motorola doesn't have the best quality control in the world in my experience, my device's back panel is slightly loose in between the lens and dimple, and the speaker grille isn't secure, but this is a bigger problem, so I would advise you get it replaced or fixed ASAP.

Well my girlfriend just dropped her HTC First that she got less than a month ago on our linoleum floor and the screen completely spider-webbed. And when I say "completely" I mean the ENTIRE screen. The "gorilla glass" they supposedly put on this phone is more like fine China. It didn't even land on the actual screen....
Anyway, are there any replacement screens out for this thing yet? I know it just came out and my question will most likely fall on deaf ears but figured I would give it a go. Also a disassembly guide would be beneficial as well.
Thanks in advance

dude first of all gorilla glass only protects against scrachs not falls and not yet for the screen there ain't any around so be more careful with ur newly purchased phones
2 feet onto some soft linoleum should cause this type of damage I'm sorry. I've dropped my HTC one x onto the corner of a vice at work directly onto the screen and nothing happened. And also, the so called "insurance that we have said it would be 199$ to fix it and HTC gave me a quote of 150$ to fix it. Nice to know everyone stands behind the quality of some products.....
How about you tell my girlfriend to be more careful with her newly purchased phone? Wont really help too much at this point.

You could always check on eBay. But I doubt you will be able to find anything be as new as it is. I plan on disassembling mine sometime soon to play around. If I'm able to I will whip up a tutorial

Awesome. I'd definitely appreciate it if you got around to a disassembly. Could not find ANYTHING on this phone at all being as how new it is. Especially with a name like HTC "First". Kind of sends the search engine into a plethora of random stuff.

very carefully lol theres a video for the htc one xl that shows how to separate them but there is a disclaimer not to do it if you are not a pro. You can try and see if a repair store will do it for you if you bring them the parts or wait till they sell them in one piece.

this same situation with cell of my wife. I bought a case but need to replace a screen. In at&t said that I should call CPR but they can't help (not typical model of HTC they said). So I found this: youtube.com/watch?v=LIsnRmxw0cI and link above (to the store). And I have serious question: maybe anyone has experience with this company? You guys will buy it?

They look legit, but I don't think I'd attempt separating the glass from the digitizer myself. And it looks like they only have digitizers in stock, not full screen assemblies.

Hey,
I'm happy to be a new HTC First broken screen owner now.
But since the glass is partially crumbling, wouldn't it be easier to separate it from the LCD ? Anybody has successfully repair his First ?
(For the little story, it was one of the first time I ever drop a phone in my life -_-)
mine has a creak and a gap located near the volume buttons. I can actually pry it apart.

Nope, mine's perfect in the build department (for once)! But Motorola accidentally sent me someone else's phone as well, and that one had a huge gap between the front and back on the left side of the phone. I tried to snap it in to no avail. I feel bad for the person who is getting that one.

waiting to see, but I imagine it will be advanced replacement,
Vibrate motor seems about the same as any other phone I've owned. My HTC One is louder.
Mine isn't so much squeak as when I push down on the ATT logo you can hear the sticky get pushed down then that awful sound as it lets go again, trying to decide if it's worth the RMA effort.

It looks like there is a little piece of foam sliding down over the lens of my front camera. This happening to anyone else? It still takes pictures fine, or seems to. I'm not sure if they are a little bit darker then they should be due to the obstruction. I looked at the moto x teardown pictures on ifixit and there is a little piece of foam around the camera that I think has come dislodged on mine. I'm a little worried about trying to remove the back and fix this myself. Whenever I take phones apart I always scratch or otherwise dent the plastic somewhere. And then there is all the adhesive on the battery to deal with. Hmmm.
Still under warranty?

Is shows up on mine to. I was worried about it, but until it affects the camera, I'm not worried.

Same with mine. Bought second hand, ATT version.
Interesting, my MM Moto X is doing something similar. it hasn't slid down as far as what you all are seeing, but it has moved since I've received it. Doesn't affect images at all, and maybe even helps with light flares and stuff.
Wow mine is like this also

Mine is slightly off center but nowhere near as bad as the one in the pic. Warranty exchange?
Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
Wo, I didn't actually expect anyone else to have this problem. So who's brave enough to open their phone and investigate?
Here is the pic from ifixit showing the foam around the camera. That is what I think is sliding down.

You also see a lot less of them plus it could be an issue that's been fixed.

Guitar pick, ifixit teardown video and be careful with the adhesive on the NFC. Then move the foam and put the cover back on. The back is so easy to swap on this phone.

I have the same exact issue. I purchased the phone in November and didn't notice the issue until about a month later. About a week ago I decided to try my luck and see if there was anything Moto would do. I chatted with a rep online and he said it would be covered under manufacture defect and started the return process. I just have to return the old phone once I receive the new one. So if you don't want to risk your warranty or anything just call them up and see if they will work with you.

It will be a new one. They emailed me a code to build a new one, I'm just waiting for it to be delivered.
Same here. Motorola sent me a code to build a new phone and just need to return this one after I receive the replacement. They had no issue processing the exchange so they must be aware of the issue.
Makes you wonder what else is floating in there.

Emailed them and they said they could repair it but there would be a 3 to 5 day turn around time. looks like I'll be fixing it myself.

Mine is coming down too (from the top of the camera). My first Moto X had a misaligned (crooked) screen and also a front camera that was offset to the left a lot.
It's not affecting the camera yet. I have a feeling it will eventually though.
Hi all,
I have an original pebble that has a non functioning back button. Unfortunately it is an earlier version without a screwed on back meaning there is no way to open it up and fix any loose connections without completely destroying the watch.
I was wondering if it would be possible to create a custom firmware with the back button remapped to something like long press up. If not then it'll be a sad end for my faithful watch.
Cheers
Andrew
contact pebble support and ask how do you get it fixed you may get lucky you and get the option of RMA or a way to get it fixed cheaply

Hey guys. I did a battery swap on my 2014 last night. Everything works except for the bottom speaker. The top phone speaker works and so does the mic. Any ideas? Ive looked at a tear down and I don't see any sort of flex cable for the speaker. I'm wondering if the brass contacts at the top of the mobo have something to do with it. Any insight would be awesome. Thank you
There are two springy contacts that get speaker connected through back frame (chassis) - is it screwed well? Just reassemble again.
There is a solution. See the comments and Ben Sycha's answer at phamtoan's question from the link below. Hope it will help you.

Both Xt1092 and xt1096 have the same battery because they are the same phone...
So take a look again to see.
Xt1092, 1096, 1097 etc is the same phone from different carriers or regions. So if you take a battery for xt1096 is more than sure that it fits on your 1092 with no problem.
As you can see at the link below there are no differences between xt1092 and xt1096 at battery. Good luck.
