So I decided to install cyanogenmod WhiteNeo ROM on my xperia T
did the entire process alright.
for recovery, CWM din't work so downloaded app from playsore and got TWRP from there.
the followed the steps from here to reach till step 8 from wiki.cyanogen guide.
stuck at step 8. DOn't get how to perform it because it is confusing.
altenrately sentthe zip package to sd card and tried there but says Error executing updater binary in zip.
I am stuck.
5%battery left.
and I dont know what to do.
can't even get out of Recovery mode.
device is unresponsive when connected to USB and is powered off.
can anyone please sort this out and explain in simple words how to get out of this mess?
p.s: if battery expires, then what happens?
tried installing stock firmware using flashtool
but
07/014/2015 19:14:54 - ERROR - Error in processHeader
all the time
googled all the solutions
none works
help please?
You should be able to flash official CM12 and proceed from there.
First, revert to stock FOTAKernel, then flash my ROM's boot.img via Fastboot mode in Flashtool. Then reboot to TWRP and check versions. Should be 2.8.7.0.
Then flash the ROM zip, gapps and supersu. Done.

Thankyou soo much!
could you just elaborate a bit on how to revert to stock FOTA kernel and check TWRP version. confused about that.
btw... how do I use CM recovery instead of TWRP?
also if you have time.
another issue
before you posted this, I already flashed CM12 official, it works fine. But I am having an issue flashing gapps.
have tried
gapps-L-4-21-15.zip
pa_gapps-stock-5.0.1-20150215-signed (1).zip
gapps-lp-20141212-signed (1).zip
For installing
proceeded to install through sdcard and in recovery mode.
installs fine.
as soon as phone starts, google errors(stopped working) start spamming the screen and pressing ok just causes more to come.
reset all to factory version, reinstalled cyanogenmod with gapps, still no good.
can you point out the correct process for it or where am I going wrong.

Reverting to stock FOTA and getting official CM recovery (which won't flash anything but official CM builds and gapps) can be done with flashtool and a suitable ftf or using a Terminal command that you will find on the last pages of my CM12.1 thread for Xperia T.
TWRP version should be visible in settings or what one would call a "status bar".
And the force-closing gapps are just the result of a broken or outdated recovery. I've already been reported the same issue after creating a FOTAKernel TWRP for a friend.
You should be able to flash official CM12 gapps from Cyanogen Recovery.. Just google those.

so again kdz then i try other room Paranoid but the same thing..

I don't really know what happened, did you successfully flashed kdz?
Where did you get it from? Here?: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15
Try to flash one of these (choose correct one for you)
Than you have to install recovery again.
But before that you can try to wipe /system, /data, /cache and then flash CM11 (I know it works without problems)
And I recommend you these Gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942

I think you should try with CWM first, get it: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-p880.img
you can flash it with this app if you are rooted: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
then you can download CM11 from here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=p880
and gapps from last mine post
and then boot to recovery, do factory reset and wipe /system, then flash rom and gapps.
Hope it helps
Crash After Flash OTA Vanir 5.0
I had a similar experience. I was installing OTA latest update of Vanir...not realising that it was 5.0...a screen came up telling me that it needed to flash another recovery...not realising why it needed that, I ignored the request to flash. Of course, I then "bricked" the phone. I was able to install the original JB 4.12 (v20c) back onto the phone but now it won't root. I've tried almost every method in this forum to no avail.:
ADB just gives a message "error: closing" when I use the boot.exe method
o4xr method does nothing
all-in-one method also does nothing
ADB does recognise the device. Drivers are installed. Any help is welcome!

Have you tried to flash a recovery using fastboot? You won't need to root (if you are going to use a custom ROM) and/or it will be easier with a custom recovery
Soft brick after last update.
Hello,
I seem to have a similar problem. I updated a few days ago using Vanir updater. There were no warnings re updating the recovery, just a warning regarding losing root. I checked restore root. The phone rebooted to the bootloader logo, then to a black screen. Now, I can access Cyanogen recovery, SW update mode, abd fastboot mode using buttons and the recovery options. ADB can see the phone only in recovery mode, but not in fastboot or SW update mode. CM recovery has no option to mount USB storage, so my PC cannot see the phone, and I cannot side load a new recovery and flash a new ROM.
Is there any way to use ADB if it cannot see your phone in fastboot or SW mode? Perhaps modify the settings.secure string to enable ADB? ADB can see the phone in recovery mode.
Otherwise I will try flashing a stock ROM via KDZ or LG firmware update tool, the re-root and proceed - but rooting was a major ordeal the first time, so I would like to avoid doing that again.
Thanks in advance.
Hello
I have unlocked BL and rooted.
I've been trying to install CM12 on my Xperia V but everytime I'm in recovery and trying to flash CM12 it just aborts in the middle of it, and if i remember it gives an error a long the lines of "device is mint, rom isn't" I tried this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe.../rom-cyanogenmod-12-neo-s-homebuilds-t2967819
Since that pretty much bricked the phone Im back on stock JB [4.3] and I actually tried it twice, and no luck. Haven't tried any other roms since re-rooting and installing cwm/twrp is such a pain with xperia V and im not interested in anything else other than CM11/12.
I tried search but no luck
So, the question is, whats the most painless way to get CM11/12 on my phone, and what do I have to keep in mind while doing it. I'm very new to the phone and haven't figured out everything that I need to know I suppose.
Heres some "about phone"
Model : LT25i
Android ver: 4.3
Kernel ver: 3.4.0
Build number: 9.2.A.2.5
Either remove the first line in my rom zip/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script (this will disable device verification, so do so at your own responsibility), then repack the rom zip and flash - or fastboot flash my rom's boot.img before installing the zip itself.

Thanks for the fast answer. So I'll just root and install twrp yet again, then flash your boot.img in with flashtool and THEN wipe/factory reset from twrp and install your ROM, right ?

Actually, no need for root and twrp. Just go ahead, flash the kernel, then reboot to recovery and follow the installation steps in my CM12 thread
Yes, another one of these threads, but I need some help.
I got the bootloader unlocked, flashed twrp into recovery using fastboot. Unfortunantly the device rebooted into stock which I'm reading got rid of twrp. One problem is I can't figure out how to get twrp on there, and to stay on there, so I can use it.
Ignoring this issue I just continued. The guide simply said flash cm11. I searched around for a little bit on how to do this with fastboot (since my twrp wasnt working), but ended up doing the stupid thing of running:
fastboot flash system cm-11-20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-ghost.zip
I know my problem is that I flashed the system with just a zip update file. I should've performed an update.
But now I can't figure out how to find the stock system image for my phone, the actual img file, so I can flash the system again. I have a sprint moto x.
Thanks for any help!

you should be able to install TWRP by using the command, "mfastboot recovery twrp.img"
regarding CM11, I don't think is needed anymore to go from CM10 to CM12. it was at one time, but I believe CM or TWRP made some updates so that step is no longer necessary.
but before we can help you further, let us know what ROM you are on now and what ROM you want to be on next.
also, this thread is very helpful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/official-collection-firmwares-fxz-sbf-t3146628
Ok I got TWRP on there. Now I would like to get to lolipop 5.1 one way or another. I've always liked CyanogenMod (of course) but want to try CyanHacker. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/rom-cyanhacker-lollipop-ghost-t3033367
Right now I'm on a stock sprint rom I got with kitkat 4.4.4
Here's what I was going to do: (copied from forum)
1. mfastboot flash the latest TWRP if you aren't already at that point. I won't help you on fastboot things as you should already know- look around in the forums for info.
2. BACKUP YOUR STUFF- don't want to lose things without being able to get them back, right?
3. Flash the downloaded CM11 snapshot.
(Heres where I'm stuck. This is where I soft bricked it last night. I tried just now to apply the update using twrp and it just fails. It also fails at rooting my phone.)
4. Let CM11 fully boot and go through the setup screen- just skip everything and get to the homescreen.
5. Reboot into Recovery and wipe EVERYTHING- system, data, dalvik cache, cache, etc.
6. Flash your Lollipop ROM.
7. Flash PA-gapps.
8. Flash SuperSU.
9. Wipe cache/dalvik cache.
10. Reboot.
11. ???
12. Profit.
Thanks for any help!
I'm what you'd call a super noob at this stuff and I've got my poor little SP in a crazy bootloop... I've tried LITERALLY EVERYTHING the internet has told me to try; wiping every cache out there, flashing custom roms, stock roms, you name it. It began when I just got CWM (don't ask me why it happened then, I have no clue why) and this is even BEFORE I put a ROM on! (I was all ready to put a ROM after getting CWM but bootloop happened).
Note: I have CWM recovery, I think I have lost my stock recovery, if I try some ROMS (ex. CM 12) they give me this error 7, once I found certain ROMS (PACMAN ROM, unofficial stock ROM) that would flash and install, they did but still left me with a bootloop, I have tried wiping so many caches it's not even funny, I've tried flashing the original firmware, nothing works... so I'm here for help.
I have looked at every google link and every method possible in trying to fix this thing! I really can't afford a new phone and I just love this one too much... please help!

Please go to the above link to get TWRP. Also, please keep in mind that TWRP is now the only still supported recovery around. CWM and PhilZ are both really outdated and no longer maintained due to the introduction of Cyanogen Recovery which is very minimal in features.
Once you get yourself the download, extract the files from the zip and get the twrp.img file. We will need this to flash into the boot partition of Xperia SP, granting you a direct boot into recovery once it is flashed. Please then copy the original zip to your sd card, as we will be flashing the original zip via TWRP later to give you access to TWRP in the future.
Using your preferred tool, flash the twrp.img file into the boot partition.
Connect your Xperia SP via fastboot. Make sure SP is shut down, hold volume up key and connect the SP with your computer.
If you're using a fastboot tool via command prompt, the command would be
fastboot flash boot twrp.img
If you're using flashtool, hit the lightning icon in the toolbar, select fastboot mode. Then select "Select kernel to flash". Make sure the file type is "img" else you won't able to find your TWRP img file. Navigate to mentioned img file and select it.
Afterwards, when flashing complete, you may insert sdcard and start the device. It will boot directly into TWRP as we flashed a recovery to the boot partition.
Clean wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, system. You may leave internal storage.
Flash the ROM zip you acquired (make sure file integrity is checked beforehand!) then the TWRP zip earlier. Flashing the TWRP zip grants you a persisting recovery, as explained in the linked thread.
You may now reboot and enjoy

You get an error when installing app from playstore?
And about recovery,
Get "twrp-3.0.2-rXX-fota-huashan.zip" from here.
Extract it,
Flash the .img via fastboot mode,
Reboot your device, it'll boot directly into TWRP.
Flash the "twrp-3.0.2-rXX-fota-huashan.zip" again from there, this will install TWRP in the FOTA partition.
Then flash another ROM/ Restore any backup.
