Hello all,
I encrypted my Z3C and I was with Android 5.0, when I turn off and turn on my Z3C it was always optimizing all apps, you know... "app 173/274..."
It was not normal for me. And after I read the news with Android 5.1 out. So I decided to start with clean 5.1 FTF and wipe. All was OK, but now I decided to encrypt my phone again and at any boot my Z3C ask me my pattern... and reboot... and ask me my pattern again... and optimize all apps again...
Waht's wrong with Sony guys?
My Nexus 6 only ask my pattern and start, why my Z3C always do all that?
I have to wait 30m for my Z3C start! Because optimizing all my 250+ apps!
I love my Z3C but so much people don't like the Nexus 6, my encrypted Nexus 6 start in 1 minute...
Is there someone with encrypted Z3C who direct start after code/pattern?
I HAVE A CLEAN Z3C // NO ROOT // NOTHING
Same Problem here
I experience the same problem on my Rooted Stock 5.1 Z3C.

I have a Nexus 6 with a lot of mods: unlocked, rooted, decrypted, twrp installed, franco-kernel, double-tap to wake and xposed. I'd like to upgrade my phone to 5.1 but with all these mods, which is the best solution? Waiting for a flashable 5.1 zip?
I don't want to lose all my settings and saves. And since in a future i'd like to update to a new android version, I ask to understand how you (nexus users) usually do upgrades with mods inside..

You can either wait it out to not lose anything, or you can lose your mods and update, that's about it, that's why I usually stay pretty stock and if I ever want to upgrade, I'm not really losing anything worth having

Ask yourself what's going to change in your life if you go to 5.1 today? Some people do have good reasons.
I am waiting a few days myself as my phone runs perfectly fine.

i have the exact same question as well lol and have no idea what to do next...
i am rooted, bootloader unlocked, with twrp and decrypted
i guess i will have to flash a 5.1 rom and bootloader/kernel/radio??
I believe you leave out the kernel as that is what allows you to have a decrypted device.
My advice - wait until there is a decrypted 5.1 zip and flash that.
Personally, I use a new version of Android as a reason to wipe and start fresh. Look at all the bootlooping and junk that's happening to people right now who are quick to want to update. I doubt Xposed works on 5.1 as well.
No it doesn't
Hello everyone
I have now finally been able to root my beautiful Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. The bootloader is still locked. I did downgrade the Firmware in order to root the phone. Afterwards I made a backup of the DRM Keys via TA Backup. Additionally I updated the Firmware to 23.0.1.A.5.77. As the bootloader is still locked I did not install any kind of custom ROM and I am yet not planning to do so. The Sony ROM will probably do a good job. (My old phone is a Sony Xperia P which is now running with Root Sony's ROM since 3 years at least)
I am running on KitKat 4.4 and also not planning to change. I have a 64GB SD card in my phone as well.
Now my question:
Can I still use the encryption function or will this interfere or make problems because I have root (Bootloop)?
I am not planning to encrypt the SD card because I do not need encryption on the SD card but encryption for the Android System would be nice.
Thanks for your help guys :good:
Best wishes,
Dicey
No idea guys? Did no one ever try this before?

I'd like to know this as well.
I tried this today. Left it encrypting and when I came back it said encryption had been interrupted and it then did a factory reset, after which I was unable to enter custom recovery.. As I had chosen to encrypt the SD I was left with an empty SD card too.
Somehow I kept root so I was able to install XZDualRecovery again and then restore from nandroid backup.
There's a thread on androidforums where Samsung owners have reported success with temporarily disabling SuperSU while running the encryption.

Anyone tried this method or found another way to achieve root + encryption? It's the only thing keeping me from rooting again.
Hello.
My motoG 2nd gen XT1064 just passed the warranty date about 2 months ago. I'm on marshmallow 6.0, and bootloader is currently locked and running stock rom.
Yesterday I rebooted my phone for the first time in about 1 month. Upon startup, after the moto boot screen, a box popped up with "Android is starting.... Optimizing app xx of XXX...."
I let the apps optimization take its course, (about 15-20 minutes) immediately afterwards the screen turns black. Not off black, but backlight is on kind of black. Eventually after 5 minutes it reboots, and continues the same cycle over and over and over.
I let it do it overnight, uncharged, and eventually the battery died. I let it charge completely, started up the phone, deleted cache partition, but still the same problem.
I will attempt to wipe the phone from the recovery option, and hopefully that fixes it.
My question is
a) IS there any way to access the internal storage of phone via usb connected to my laptop while in bootloader screen and extract some important files and photos I did not get a chance to backup...
b) I plan on unlocking bootloader and rooting now that my warranty is done, but if I cannot get the phone running properly with the wipe/restore option, do I have to flash stock factory firmware before unlocking, rooting, and flashing something like CM?
Please be patient with me. I'm not computer illiterate, just very inexperienced with this stuff. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
To whom it may concern:
I went ahead and unlocked my bootloader, which wiped my phone clean.
Phone is working great now. My question is, is it worth to root the phone and install a custom ROM? I'm a novice, and these XDA forums are information OVERLOAD. So many different methods, opinions, ROMS, etc etc.
I think most people install CM13. Is there a noob friendly, comprehensive guide to rooting and installing CM13 the clean and proper way?

Hello,
Does anyone know an understandable manual to root Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, please?
I have had Xperia XZ1 Compact for several years and I am still struggling with Update system operation (Android 8) which I simply do not want to update. I managed to avoid the pending update icon, wiped memory, checked "Don't update operation system", but recently it doesn't help.
I decided to deactivate the system file 'Update [...] "but to see it, I have to root this smartphone. Unfortunately, I can't find any effective method anywhere - the app" One Clic Root "," King Root "etc. does not help.
There is here a very incomprehensible tutorial for me here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-how-to-root-xperia-xz1-compact.3712385/, which also causes the camera to stop working.
Regards and I am counting on help.
Did you check out this thread?
It has information and a guide on how to obtain a temporary root, back up your DRM keys, and then bootloader unlock + restore keys.
That said, the camera should work for stock Pie, and most custom roms (if you want anything later) will include the DRM fix.
One Click Root and King Root always seemed like scams to me. You can just unlock normally with a key from Sony.
Many thanks, a little complicated but in details. I will try and let know.
Hi guys, is it possible to flash the rooted Android 8? I know how to flash including downgrading - it takes 30 sec., so flashing the rooted OS would be easiest way.
Is it possible? If so ewhere to find a ready (prepared) rooted OS?
