Launcher won't load - HTC Sensation XL

Hello.
My HTC Sensation XL won't load it's launcher. Once I press the unlock button, I see a black screen with a fully functional status bar. I can turn Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. on and off. I have CM (Clean Master) launcher installed. Problem occurred after I force stopped HTC Sense (default launcher). The phone is not rooted. I do know how to access Bootloader (thought that could save some writing).
Edit:
Performed a factory reset. Problem solved I guess.

I installed Untouched Desire C stock rom etc and it was still a problem. I turned the lockscreen shortcuts off and these still happened. no change. :/
Should I install the Untouched Desire C stock rom, relock the bootloader and return it to vodafone service?
Thanks!!

I know that stock kernel in your phone -g932fab4 the cpu clock is locked at 600MHZmax 600MHZmin
and is unchangeable with setcpu or any other cpu changing apps. also governor and scheduler is locked. even with root.

Lately the same issue started for me too. Lock screen shortcuts have been enabled. With clean flashed Nameless however, there's no problem.
I tried to delete lock screen data and cache, still the same.
The red and grey spots only come when I move the lock ring but I don't unlock it, otherwise only the shortcuts are missing.
If I press the power button again without unlocking, the shortcuts are back.
Can it be that a calendar event or similar notification on the lock screen stuck somewhere in the ROM and causes this?

oh so im not the only one. the only thing what worked for me is full erase everything, and clean install the latest nameless rom and use the nameless look. and dont change anything. i changed the rosie apk back to the original 4x4. it was all right. then i installed a skin. it was still all right. i tried to push the transparent quick settings, i succeeded, but since then i pushed that systemui.apk it started again. when i install the rom i also remove 47 programs by room toolbox pro. i fuk sth up. if i dont change anything, and i use the nameless look its all right. i have the lastest nameless 806mhz kernel and rom etc. i have the lockscreen shortcuts on and have no problem yet. (3 days passed since the install)

Need help with holo locker on my HTC One

Hello,
Im currently using my HTC one with nova launcher. After dloading and installing holo locker I noticed two things.
1) When i lock my screen and go back to unlock it, The htc sense home screen will flash for a second before holo locker kicks in
2) I cant seem to find a way to get my security pattern or a password with this lockscreen.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you
-Nick
I have similar issues. Rarely, but it does happen, I too have issues with the lockscreen sometimes showing the main page and after a deley it shows the lockscreen (This is after I've pressed the power button, ready to unlock). Not sure about the security pattern as I don't use one, I'm sure there's an option to enable security within the Holo Locker app.
My main issue was with the sim lock. I had this enabled but while using Holo my phone had no service. I rebooted my phone and realised that without my default lockscreen, I never saw the keyboard to enter my pin so my phone remained locked with no service until I disabled it in settings or switched back to my normal lockscreen ... Annoying to say the least ... Don't even get me started on the notificatons problem when using third party launchers and lockers but there are solutions but I'm wondering if it's all worth it, just to have no status bar on the lockscreen and homescreen.

[Q] defaults being reset each boot

I have disabled Facebook home and uninstalled it. I have the Android default home and ADW Launcher. Every boot it asks me which launcher to go to. Each time I select ADW Launcher and then press Always. But every boot the defaults seem to be reset. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the First or with Jellybean.

Do you have S-Off? The only reason I can think of that would cause it to do so is if you don't have S-Off. When you uninstall Facebook Home, it will reinstall itself as the default home upon rebooting the device because of S-On. So if you don't have nor want S-Off, I'd recommend simply turning off Facebook Home in the Home Settings rather than uninstalling it.

[Q] CM10.2.1 laggy Trebuchet - icon labels

Hi,
I'm using CM10.2.1 on my ovation device and have noticed a significant slowdown/lag when rearranging (moving) app-icons on the home screen.
It depends on the number of icons that are displayed on the current page - when there are many icons, the slowdown is horrible.
My grid size is 8 rows x 5 columns.
If I check "Hide icon labels (Hide homescreen icon labels)" (Personalization->Home Screen->General), rearranging app-icons is very smooth with no slowdowns. So it has something to do with the label rendering?
What can I do to avoid the slowdowns without having to learn the app-icons by heart.
Have you tried enabling force gpu acceleration in developers options?

Yes, I tried that already. It makes no difference. If I enable "Show GPU overdraw", the icon labels are marked light red to red - no matter wether "force gpu rendering" is checked or not.
I also tried "Disable HW overlays" - this has no effect.
How many icons are needed for this to appear? I can add that many and see if I see the same thing.

With 6 Icons on one page, the difference is quite obvious.
If you add more icons, it will get worse. If you fill a 5 x 8 screen with icons, it's a real pain.
Strange my home screen has 20 things move around like butter

You'll probably find that its one (or more) app that's not playing nicely. I'd start by removing them one at a time until it reveals itself.
Just did a full wipe and clean install. Skipped everything possible - no wifi configured, no Google account, no restore from Google.
Then dragged some icons on home screen. Moving them around is now much better, but not as perfect as with icon labels switched off!
After that, I verified the grid size in the Trebuchet preferences - changed nothing, returned to home screen. Now some of the icons are not visible any more and some of them are outside the screen area.
I've got no idea what's going on here... Trebuchet perhaps is mixing up colums and lines sizes of the homescreen grid?
All I can think of to suggest at this point is:
Make certain your chosen CWM10.2 downloaed properly (or do it again).
Make certain you have the correct GApps package.
Make certain you installedd them with the correct version of CWM.
I'm assuming you followed the Guide for Dummies. It's pretty idiot resistant. After I create the bootable SD, I like to install just the EMMC version of CWM followed by the ROM. Then let the Nook boot all the way through. Go into settings and enable boot options, reboot into recovery and then install GApps. Reboot again, connect to WiFi and let everything update.
If that doesn't work, I'd suggest starting over from a fresh install of the stock ROM.
Went back to stock ROM without problems.
Reset to factory defaults.
Downloaded cm-10.2.1-ovation.zip again. No file differences found. Flashed it via CWM v6.0.2.8 for HD+ (Stock)
Flashed gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip.
The problem is still present.

Don't know what else to say. I just (literally) went from stock to 10.1, then to 10.2, then to 11 (which I'm on now). I would rather pack the stuff I use on one screen than flip back and forth between screens. I keep it full with widgets, shortcuts, and quick-launchers. No problems like yours.
When you say, "Reset to factory defaults." you mean you flashed it back to the stock firmware?
Yes, I did a full wipe and flashed back to stock ROM - to start over from scratch.
Then I flashed CM 10.2.1 as described... and the problem is back.
Now I'm trying CM11 (M6) which does not show this particular problem (everything moves smoothly), but it has some nasty bugs. Reading a book in "Google Books" often causes a crash and the Nook reboots. The notification bar crashes sometimes when I pull it down. Sound is strange in King.com games (Candy Crush etc.)...
FWIW - You're in good company. My most used app is Kindle (Ironic, aint it?). I get random reboots with every ROM I've tried. Some are much worse than others.

Launcher issue : no more icons

Hello,
After restarting my P20 Pro that was out of battery, i got a very special system message (never seen before when the phone shutdown with battery emptied) telling me that there was a big issue and the screen propose me to backup status, restore, or restart system.
I choosed restart and since my launcher is out of order : no more icons, just the notification bar at the top.
The notification bar is ok. When i click on a notification on top it open the application concerned and i can use it as long as needed.
But there is no way to access to other applications because the screen is black with no icons. Accessing to the system menu crash after 20 seconds and i have to unlock the scrren each time.
I can see the launcher with icons when connecting the P20 to an external hdmi screen in EMUI desktop mode.
i can access to mostly all the applications from here.
I tried to install an alternative launcher like Nova from desktop UI but it doesnt seem to have impact, screen still black
I'm lost to find a solution to restore launcher without performing a factory reset.
(wipe cache partition has no effect)
Is there a way to reset something with adb ?
or any other suggestion
Try to open the settings and wipe data of Huawei Launcher only. Your launcher settings (and placement of icons) will be cleared.
