My phone is about a month old, its a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and there is something wrong with my emojis. First when I got it all the emojis seemed fine, but after a while I noticed that some of the emojis suddenly was outdated.
All these emojis was updated to the lollipop version, but at one or another point they switched over to the jellybean verison. As far as I have found out I am the only one that has been experiencing this so far. Any idea how to fix it?
Btw: Is there a way to post pictures from your computer onto this forum?

Hello,
I've been looking for a third-party application that allows you to use the physical buttons whilist the touch screen is disabled.
That would allow you to use your camera in wet conditions, I know that the XZ1 is not meant to be used as an underwater
camera, but it should at least function correctly in the rain.
Does an application like that already exist? So far I've not found one that functions as I'd like it to.
It would be amazing if someone ported the Sony Xperia Z2/ZR Touch Block application to work with the XZ1.
There's just one thing I'd change in Touch Block, I would love it to have the feature to hide the on-screen clutter.
Thanks in advance!

EDIT:
I just found out, that Touch Block is included with all stock roms since KitKat, I previously had a custom rom installed which apparently did not include that small application.

Have you tried searching here on XDA yet?
Because this is what I found by simply searching. The first link even.

Yes I have, there are currently no working versions of Touch Block for the XZ1 from what I know.
At least for KK 4.4.4, and I am almost certain, that it's not even available for 4.4.2
I've installed several different builds of the application on my XZ1, none have worked flawlessly yet - FC etc...

That's really weird, because I had Touch Block as one of my Small Apps ever since the update to 4.3 or 4.4. I'm pretty sure because I used my phone underwater already
According to my linked XDA post, that particular version should work on the Z1 though. Do you happen to have root? The only thing I could think of is that you may have conflicting software somehow, causing the FC.

Just to be sure, I tested that particular version again, I am currently on stock deodexed and rooted 4.4.4, fresh install, so I should not have anything interfering with the application. I've also tried the same .apk, when I was on 4.4.2, no luck. Besides, the topic you referred to, is about a version, that was originally meant for JB 4.2.2. If you go on the 2nd page of the linked thread, in the linked thread, you'll find that it stopped working after the JB 4.3 update, even on Xperia ZR devices, which was the device, it was built for.

I've never done this before but I think I extracted the .apk file that works on my 4.4.2 Xperia Z1. I'm curious whether you're able to install this now (as I don't know if this the correct way to extract .apk files). But it's worth a shot I suppose. I mean, it's the app that I found in my system/app folder so it could work :silly:

EDIT: I updated the OP, pretty dumb of me not to check the pre-installed small apps... You're getting a +1 for trying to help!
Hi, I am currently using a Xperia Z3 compact Model D5803. I received a OTA update to install Lollipop Yesterday and although my first instincts didn't like it or should I say I preferred 4.44 instead, I seem to be getting to grips with it and it may just stick with me. However I have two major concerns.
1. The Phone Dialer - I don't seem to like the way it looks - I much prefer the one in 4.44 - If you look at the screenshots I attached, when you need to make a call you actually have to press the call button, and then press the little orange button before the dial pad opens. And then the look and feel of the Dial Pad I pretty much annoying. Now my question - Is there any way to change this, I have also attached the screenshot of how it used to look on 4.44, smooth and eye catching. I have heard a lot about modding and rooting etc.. but I am very new to all this. So if someone could please shed some light on this if there is anyway for this to be changed. .
2. Also I have witnessed a significant drop in my battery. I used to get 2 full days if not more by 4 to five hours. Now it seems like I may be lucky if id just manage to see a full day out. Has anyone else experienced this? what could be the cause and what can I try to rectify it?
Help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Ihsaan

Hi,
It is completely the opposite for me. I don't like the Lillipop Sony Dialer and I would like the Google stock lollipop dialer.
I use ExDialer and is execellent also with groups
MrPingle
This is annoying me aswell. Im thinking bout extracting the dialer from cm12 and try to replace the sony one but i guess that it wont work that easy. I guess the Sony dialer is well integrated in the system.
[Edit]
I extracted all the phone modules from cm12 and just went to install them like normal apk. Install gave me error. My guess is that the stock dialer and contacts etc already takes the name for the apk. So i guess one could remove the stock dialer and replace it via flashable zip or something like that. Just got my phone running fine again so im not willing to test quite yet
[Edit2]
Tried fiddeling with ExDialer but i dont like that app. Got some theme that looked ok and went to call a friend. When call is made the stock dialer appears and makes the call. Ugly.
I am using a menu as described here http://tasker.dinglisch.net/userguide/en/help/ah_menu.html. I selected "Icon and Text Menu".
My menu worked fine on Android 6 Marshmallow. After upgrade to Android 7 Nougat, the icons appear, but the text is missing. The menu still works when pressed. I created a new menu from scratch and it's the same.
Please can anyone else on Nougat report if they see the same problem, or if it works fine for them? Any ideas what I might have done wrong please? Maybe I lost some Tasker setting during the upgrade? I had a quick look in the log but I can't really understand it.
Nexus 5X, stock Android rooted, Tasker 4.8u5 (latest on Google Play at time of writing).
I've got the same problem on 2 phones (Nexus 6 and 6p). I've noticed this problem since the previews this summer. I haven't found any solution. One phone is 100% stock bootloader still locked. I don't think that has anything to do with it.
Same problem here on Pixel with Android 7.1. The icons show up, but the title and menu text is absent.
Hi. Same problem on HTC 10 after stock ota upgrade. Updating tasker to last version solved the problem for me!
Thanks ddobiest - please could you tell us what version you are on?
Unfortunately still not working for me on Tasker 4.9u4 which is the latest version that I can see in Play Store.
This worked for me. Changed text colors to anything and it displays now. I can't post links, but it was on reddit, popup_command_gives_no_text_in_black_box_android

Great, many thanks that fixed it. Reddit article is here. Where the article said to change "Scenes tab/Popup" I had to change "Icon and Text menu" instead because that's what my menu was set to. It took 5-10 minutes of fiddling with settings, what seemed like redundantly resaving the same as I already had. I'm not exactly sure which one worked in the end, but if you have the same problem, persevere and you will solve it.
Hello,
I'm having a weird issue that I've been unable to resolve. Android Messages is showing old/outdated emojis compared to other apps. Anyone seen this before? Flamingo, which is a Twitter app is displaying normal emojis. I'm only seeing the older ones in Android Messages. They just randomly changed yesterday.

I thought those were the default Google ones? I have those older style ones on all my stock Google phones.

I've had the newer looking ones since I got the note 9. I can't remember the last time I've seen the other ones. I did a phone reset and the newer ones were there for a few hours and then they changed back to the older ones.

Emojis are also based on what keyboard you use. I see you're using Google Keyboard which actually uses the default android style. The ones on the Samsung Keyboard are Samsung's own emojis.

I think there may be a bug in the latest Gboard beta. I uninstalled the beta several hours ago and the emoji have remained the same.
Issue appears to be resolved.
I got a brand new 4a 5g earlier this year, and enrolled in the 12 beta.
I was excited for the camera update since I hate the slider and the preset focus pill is tons better.
Since then, Ive never got it. I got the Material You changes, but the rest of the UI never changed to the pill. Ive tried every current APK, ive uninstalled, reinstalled, and even did a factory reset. I just downloaded the APK for the 8.4 version, and it did nothing.
I was told it was a Beta issue on the Google forums. Since then Ive unenrolled and Im on 12 stable. Still no change.
Is it a server side thing, or does anyone have any idea on how.to fix it or change it or force the update? Im run ing out of ideas.
