Problems with dialing a number - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Every time I want to dial a phone number I receive an error message that says call not sent. I can dial the second time and call goes through. My wife's 6 edge does the exact same thing. This is very annoying when looking up a number and trying get to connect a call only to have to do it all over again. After the error message the dialer just goes blank and you have to enter the number again.

[Q] Dialing Within A Call?

Today I tried to call a customer service number for a business on my Captivate - you know the ones, press 1 for English
Anyway, once I made the call, I figured out how to and pulled up the dial pad within the call and hit the number for my selection... Nothing happened. I tried this multiple times and the computer on the other end acted like I didnt do anything. I tried calling my cell providers customer service knowing they had a similar system, and they too couldnt recognize my key strokes to enter my mobile number.
Has anyone else had this problem? Its like the phone isnt broadcasting the tones over the line while dialing or something. Am I doing it wrong, or is this just a problem my phone has? Very odd...

Mine works fine. I use it everyday to check my work voicemail.
I don't have any issues dialing within a call either.

You're not going home and re-entering the dialer program are you?
The best way is to go to speaker phone so you can hear it then hit dial pad from the call screen.
If you go to the home screen you are still in the call but hitting the phone icon will let you find or edit contacts, but will not broadcast unless you hit the call button but I don't think it will broadcast to the active phone call, it would likely try to start a 3-way.
from the home screen you must return to the call from the status bar.

The problem seems to have fixed itself, as it worked the next day to dial an extension to get a hold of my girlfriend at work. Very odd. My procedure was to dial the number, then while in the call look at the screen and hit the button for "dial pad' which of course brings it up. Then, enter the numbers I needed to enter.

I have had this before on another phone
It was likely because of a bad signal. It was just strong enough to reveive the signal but not strong enough to have your phone communicate to the tower. Thus on the other side of the line they never got the tones even though they were being dialed. Considering it did not happen again it appears this is the most likely cause.

my Galaxy S is not answering phone call from one number

My Galaxy S has a Cyanogen mod 7 build. The problem is that this phone can NOT accept calls from one number. Every time this number calls the S phone, it will go to voice mail.
What I notice is that when I look at the call log of the S, the call actually goes through because it's recorded as incoming calls, BUT then the phone automatically rejects the call, as if the phone number that calls the phone is in blacklist.
I checked the blacklist setting, and I can confirm that there is NO blacklist number on the phone.
I reset to factory default on the mod 7 build, but it still do not solve the issue.
Does anyone has this problem?
I am thinking of resetting the phone back to OEM Stock Samsung build.
Thanks.
Check under the contact's options: there is the option to redirect the call to voice mail

I can confirm that for this phone number in the contact option, the Incoming Calls to Voice Mail box is NOT ticked.

Do you use true caller??
No, I even reset the phone to factory setting and have the same phone number call the S. It's still going to as 'incoming call' but the phone acts like if the number is on blacklist, so it goes straight to voice mail.
I can see the incoming call in my call log, even when I test it side by side, I open the call log and see the calls coming in, but I can not pick up as the phone automatically route the call from that ONE number only to voice mail. All other calls from different number works fine, can go through, but just not this one.

u know whose number is? ur friends or juz scam? try check all app permission to see which app that shouldnt allowing phone call allows it, n factory reset doesnt always helping coz it does not deleted or modify ur phone memory nor system
it's my sister number, part of our AT&T family plan. Which is why I am able to test it side by side.

Trouble sending/receiving sms

Im having some serious issues with send and receiving sms. Even though I have full bars, the message won't send on time and sometimes not even at all. Also I'm not receiving texts and if I do they are always like 30 minutes or so after the fact. Is anyone else having this issue? Could someone provide guidance please
I was having problems and the solution I found is
##72786# and then menu then reset. After reboot I ran activation.

Calling doesn't always work

Hi, I've noticed recently that sometimes when I try to call a number, it does not call; instead the dialpad goes blank. This occurs especially trying to dial numbers from Google maps or from contacts. Does anyone know a solution to this?

I have an issue like that, but the dial pad doesn't go blank. the call just sits there in silence and never connects. I have to toggle Airplane mode to fix it.
I have a similar issue! WHen calling someone it says dialing for like 10 seconds. Sometimes i miss calls because when someone calls me it says the netwrk is busy or something like that,
Not sure why this is happening. The only "system" change I've made is installing themes.

Yes and unfortunately it is that the 3 or 4 of us have defective phones. We need new ones

Not sure that's the solution. The issue wasn't present since the day I bought the phone.

if i recall, i having this problem on galaxy s5 or note4 edge, cant remember.
when i make a call, i always turn off wifi, it fixed the problem for me.
Did you swap the SIM from your previous phone to this phone without activating the new one? I did this and had issues. I called AT&T, and they said my IMEI from my old phone was showing and not the new one. You might try giving them a call and make sure the IMEI showing on their side is that of your new phone.
I notice that this frequently occurs if I start a call while connected to Wifi and then walk/drive outside the Wifi range. Toggling Airplane mode always fixes it for me.

I have this exact issue and the airplane mode toggle fixes it. I would like to know what is going on , whether my device is defective or if there is a better fix.
Same issue (not connecting calls, not the screen blank issue)

When dialing "Call not sent" But still goes through

Anyone else getting this?
I am completely stock, CLT-L29; 8.1.0.128(C636), only using one sim and on Tmobile US
It doesn't happen all the time and there are no pattern to when it happens but sometimes when I go to dial a number. I get a call not sent message but the call still goes through. Anyone see this?
I found out the issue. It was google voice
I have it set to only use when calling international(call my girlfriend in Poland on the weekend).
Once I turned it off, I don't get the call not sent. Wasnt a big issue more of an annoyance
Same issue with Google Voice. The call always actually goes through, but only sometimes with my GV number, and sometimes with my carrier number. Annoying...
