Is There An Option To Delete Samsung Keyboard Dictionary? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an option to delete samsung keyboard dictionary?
Samsung's keyboard not only remembers what I've typed into incognito browsers, but also emails from my contacts. They come up in every browser bar and whenever trying to sign into a website. When trying to remove by holding the word, it doesn't get removed. I can reset the entire app to erase the dictionary, but is there an easier way? Should I just use another keyboard?
I have the Note 5 on Sprint in the US

not sure if this is device specific..haven't got my hands on note 5 yet...but on my note 4 in settings > language and input > samsung keyboard > predictive text > turn off/disable personalized data here .

How to Easily Create a new text message?

I don't know if this irritates anyone else but I have to click on Menu > New > text message to start a new text message. This is rather annoying when trying to quickly send a message. On my old Cingular 8125 (WM5) the left soft key said "new" and led me straight to a new text message, though on my tilt the left soft key says "delete" which sometimes leads me to accidentally delete messages. Anyone know how to change the left soft key's function only in the messaging screen?
And on a side note, I have seen a bunch of posts about putting different ROMs on these phones. Could anyone tell me a few benefits for doing that? And does the process wipe all of your settings and data? (I use MS Exchange and T-mobile settings = pain to reconfigure)
many of the other roms out there are more stable and faster and come with different programs and settings changed
yes you will lose all the data on the phone, but not the memory card
I usually Dial in the name of the recipient of the text message using the "SmartDialer" then "LongPress" the name to take me to the context menu and finally select "Send Text Message"
i use schap's advanced configuration tool, and that can change the left/right softkeys.
(and also some other nice things)
or softkey applet.
happy new year!
I use a combination of the HTC Action app from the Touch (Dual?) assigned to the left soft key using Schap's Advanced Config so two presses gets me to either new email, new SMS, new MMS, new Appointment, New Contact, new Task or new Note.
You can use actionscreen and or pocketcm
I have them both especially pocketcm is an incredible piece of software

Autocomplete Contacts During Sms

Hello here,
I have lost Autocomplete of Contacts when writing a name in the To: Field of an Sms message.
I have Fun Contact installed, which gives the contacts an iPhone type look, since then it's been playing up. I have since uninstalled this, but it still doesn't provide suggestions of names in my contacts list, when I begin to type a name in the To field.
It's very annoying and one of my favourite features of using Sms on Windows Mobile.
Any Suggestions would be really appreciated.
Regards.
Y.
Does other predictive input work fine with your default keyboard? One more thing, when you try entering a contact name, the predictive function searches only for the contacts with numbers entered in the "mobile number" field. Check if your contact has the number there.
Regards,
Carty..
I lost that feature when I installed touch keyboard + keypad from dutty's collection
but after uninstalling them its fine now
Hey Carty,
Thanks, that's something I hadn't checked. My other predictive imput isn't working either. I have an idea why it might be. I downloaded KaiserTweak and, changed quiet a few things with it.
I set the Autocomplete to suggest me 6 words and this option is not available from the Drop down menu in the settings menu Of WordComplete.
It is not working anymore even though I have set them both to 3 words and after entering 3 letters. I have since Soft reset the device? Help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Found the Answer
As I was saying I had made some changes with the KaiserTeaks app.
One of the changes I had made was to Enable XT9 under the Text Message options.
I realised this just now as I was going through the options and have set it to disable XT9, which is the default and this has fixed the problem
Hope this helps someone out there.
thanks y0u5uf,
will try it out seems like your suggestion is the easiest way out since i installed app like kaiser tweak, touch keyboard+keypad
is there any way that i can erase the words that i have wrote in my predictive text, are they stored somewhere where i can just go into and delete them, i want to start all over??
nvm i got it lol sorry
SMS Input
I have a similar issue. When I enter a character in the "to" field I dont get a list of choices to pick from. BUT, if I hit backspace and erased a character the names and/or numbers pop up.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can fix this?

[Q] sending text messages (SMS) in Russian ....

Hello,
I'll start with the tech specs.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000
Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Russian language support for the Android OS
I have tried several keyboards with cyrillic / Russian. All of the text appears perfectly in my screen.
However when I want to send a text message in Russian, the system will tell me that the text might be corrupted on the recipient device.
It then offers me a dialog box to change input to automatic formatting, where I can choose 'send' (and it will change the formatting, basically sending only a bunch of '?') or 'cancel' and it won't send.
I have gone through all sorts of settings, but I can't find anything to send a message without the phone complaining.
Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?
(By the way, I had the same problem with Android 2.1 (Eclair))
Did you change the settings in the SMS stock app? You should chose "Automatic" there in the first place. Otherwise you'll send a bunch of "?" just you said.
Try another SMS app. t. ex. chompSMS or Handcent SMS.
What keyboard are you using? Try Smart Keyboard, you can find it at 4pda.
I'm using by myself russian Swype for now, but I've been testing both Smart Keyboard and SlideIT. Both have been working just fine. And my mesages came through without any trouble.
Good luck
Удачи!

note5 n920v predictive text dictionary

My predictive text is on. But my stock keyboard is not remembering my custom words or email address. If I switch to google keyboard it will work fine. Is anybody else experiencing this problem or know how to solve my problem.
I think I found my answer. I take no credit for this I copied and pasted from android central
1. go to settings, More>Application Manager>(Tab) All> selected Messages> and cleared the data by clicking on Clear Data,
2. Clicked on "More" button, (left touch key beside Home Button") and selected Clear App Preferences.
3. asked me to restart the phone, by shutting down and Removing the battery.
4. restarted, tested, worked.
Settings>application Manager>all (Tab) select Samsung Keyboard> clear Data, I think its working for me as of now.

Samsung Keyboard, remove suggestions learned from Contacts

Hello,
My Note 5 and my SGS6E+ both using the Samsung Keyboard continuously auto replaces words with no typos into email addresses, most of them not even saved in my contacts! This is extremely annoying.
My previous Samsung devices had options when clinking on predictive text to disable some personalized data, ie learn from Facebook, contacts, etc, however I can't find this option anywhere and Googleing ain't helping me either.... I could use swift key or another 3rd party keyboard, but I really am used to Samsungs keyboard and do not want to switch...
Please help!!! Thanks
