Android Auto on Tablet - Android Auto General

I've got to say that i'm TOTALLY confused when it comes to AA
I guess I should just ask the question.
If I was only interested in running AA on a tablet that was mounted in my car, how would I achieve this ?

I used and app called AutoMate (Paid) and found a magnetic mount on Amazon (x2). It works perfectly.

BlueputDroid

App that lets you use your phone as a touchpad/keyboard for your PC/PS3. From fellow XDA member "berserker_devel"
I use my Mini Rii when my G-Tablet is in the docking station. This might be sort of cool if it could work. Will have a go. The app is in beta and in the market, like I said not sure if it works I haven't even tried or read up much. But you never know.

I still have the Droid 1, and my game gripper, this would be even cooler if I could have the game gripper setup and the touchscreen as a trackball. Cabal anyone?
Nope can't get it to pair correctly but they both regognize each other...guess that's a step in the right direction.

[Q] Docking mode WITHOUT genuine dock

Is there a way to make your phone go into the desk mode (clock.app) when its plugged into power/computer/cheap dock or something specific?
It already does this when plugged into a genuine dock, but there problem is its expensive and im poor, therefore dont have a genuine dock.
There is a way to add an option to your desktop in other launchers, but I'd rather it be automatic.
Thanks
Find deskhome on market.

You already have it. Open your stock Clock app and there is a Desk Clock tab. You can run it full screen too.

Just an fyi, docking is a sure fire way of wearing out your amoled pixels. Why would you want to deliberately destroy your screen?

You can use Tasker to create a profile to do this. And you can use Tasker to do so many other things too.
There is also on{X} which a fairy new app that allows you to make your phone do certain things based on conditions you set it to do

get some NFC tags, you can have tasker turn on bluetooth and launch whatever, you can then differentiate between car charging and home charging

Pairing two dualshock controllers?

Hi guys I was wondering if it was possible to pair two controllers to the Z1?
If so, how would I go about doing that?
Thanks!

I'm not sure this can be done for the reason that the bluetooth can be paired with only one thing.

You can have up to four controllers with the Six Axis controller app, I have the app but haven't tried it on this handset before.
So it is possible, not too sure about the native control either. I guess officially there aren't any two player games that can be played so there isn't any call for it hence the lack of support.
Try the six axis compatibility checker and see if it works, then go ahead and and pay for the app itself, don't bother with apk version's of the app, they don't work, also this app is amazing so they certainly deserve your pennies.

Aye it's a great app, been using it on my prime and my S3 and more recently HTC allowed the app to be used with their BT stack which was always a no no from them, sods law that they do that when I'm due an upgrade and am selling it lol, can't win.
Thanks for the replies guys, but what if I don't want to be rooted? Is there any other way?

The problem is that you have to map controls to buttons on the keyboard, so up down left right and 0 X square and triangle become keys on the keyboard and then so on for the next pad, otherwise they're seen as the same controller, natively they will also be seen as the same controller, you could have one on bluetooth and one wired but in all fairness they'll both do the same keypresses, just root the phone and use six axis, root is reversible, just flash an ftf file and youre done back to stock, don't unlock the bootloader either, it'll break your camera.
Press thanks if people help you by the way
EDIT: Thought i'd give you your first thanks

Rooting my gear tonight... Question

I was told if I root my gear I can use bluetooth tether and essentially run apps on my gear. The apps I'm looking to run are for my car alarm and ingress. So what I was wondering is what I was told true? And do I just have to root my gear or does my phone have to be rooted as well? Because right now I have the Note 3 completely stock and unrooted.

You dont need to root your gear in order to run custom apps, depending on what type of app it is tho they may or may not work..
I would read up on side loading applications first, test the waters out.. the apps you require may work straight out of the box by simply side loading them to your gear with out rooting.
Alternatively if you find the apps dont work, you can try loading my rom which includes a few library's, unlocked features & other various functions that some apps require in order to run correctly.
EDIT: Here is a simple guide on how to sideload applications: HERE

Awesome thank you! I'll have to read up on how you sideload apps. I saw a YouTube video where guy was actually playing ingress on his watch, what was on his phone screen transferred to watch screen same for his car alarm app, he just didn't say if it was rooted or not I just figured it was lol. Sorry had to edit my post. I do think you probably needs to be rooted to run something like ingress since it's an online game and the gear can't run anything online like a game or Facebook so I guess maybe that's why it has to be rooted and use a Bluetooth transfer lol I'm a very big newbie when it comes to the gear.

Bluetooth tethering is the easiest way. If you root your watch you can actually install play store and download as if it's a tablet tethered. Some apps may need to be wifi spoofed with is a xposed module included in null.
Keep in mind your phone needs to be running an international rom. I had to get rid of my T-Mobile rom for an international to enable Bluetooth tethering. Wasn't the watch holding me back, rather the phone itself

Standard Android APPS on AndroidAuto

Please forgive me if this is the 10,0000000 time this has been asked.
But can I somehow 'root' my galaxys10+, to be able to display regular android apps on my AA? Nothing crazy. Just like ESPN score dashboard, MLB scores etc...
No, it won't help, to show on AA, an app should be designed for this purpose and, unfortunately, only a small part of apps are designed to work on AA.
Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
By the way, you should check all the list of apps working in AA, because, for example, MLB is one of them.
