[Q] Unlocking bootloader, stuck at fastboot, problem found - HTC Desire 500

Hi guys,
having exactly the same problem as here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-500/help/help-rooting-desire-500-t3100840
In short:
1. Trying to unlock bootloader
2. PC and ADB recognize phone withouth problems.
3. As soon as I enter fastboot (manually or per adb command), I get the error:
Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration)
After trying to get this done over 6 hours, I figured out (as also figured out in that post), that the fault is actually Windows 10.
Microsoft Windows 8.0 and higher (I have Windows 10) use their own USB integrated drivers (drivers for the USB ports).
There is a solution on the internet for this.
Now the problem: I am using Windows 10 32 bit
Those solution are written for a 64 bit Version, so doesnt work with me. (and also not having USB 3.0 ports)
MY QUESTION:
Clearly, Windows 7 solves the problem. I cannot revert to Windows 7 (not my PC).
If I install Windows 7 on a Virtual Machine (on this one with Windows 10), will it use the Windows 7 USB driver or will it use the Windows 10 USB driver?
Thanks.
P.S. Any other solution how to unlock bootloader withouth accessing Fastboot?
PP:S. Just for info, having experience unlocking bootloader, rooting, installing custom-rom, overcloking on phones Huawei Ideos X3 and Sony Xperia E3

Already done
Hi Guys,
in the end I was able to get access to a Windows 7 PC and it worked just fine.
No idea if it actually works also as Windows 7 Virtual PC on a Windows 10.

[Q] Fastboot and Windows 8?

Hi all,
I have recently updated to the one and am having some trouble getting the fastboot commands working. Having been rooting/unlocking my phones for a few years now and have never really found the need to sign up and ask question as you can generally find what you need to solve most problems on here.
I have updated the driver using tutorials from here using the windows 7 ones. I have done this and everything works fine, the device is recognised. I can use the adb command to get the device connected information and adb reboot into bootloader, however when I get into the bootloader and into fastboot usb a windows notification pops up saying 'USB not recognised , the usb device connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows does not recognise it.'. As expected when I try any fastboot command it says it is waiting on device and is stuck there.
Hopefully it is something stupid I am missing out and not the device.
Any help would be good.
Thanks.

[Q] Fastboot Problem.

Hi there. I'm using Xperia SP for like 1 month now and I tried to unlock my bootloader. I'm using the Sony guide to unlock it (unfortunately I can't post a link (less then 10 posts :crying) . Anyway I've got one little problem while i'm trying to launch my Xperia in Fastboot mode.
The LED turns Blue for couple seconds, then it shuts down and the charging begins, like it's launching in fastboot mode and then turning off. I have Sony drivers installed from Sony PC Companion. I'm using Windows 8 x64. The system isn't asking for any drivers while i'm connecting the device to PC. Help me
Windows 8 x64 is a bad system for Flashtool to work with. I would suggest Windows XP....either through a VM or through dual-boot.
But if you have to use Windows 8 without a choice, please disable driver signature verification before you start Windows 8, so that you can install the driver successfully.
You wouldn't care where I sent this message from.
i have the same problem and i have windows 7 starter x86. all drivers installed. im wondering if my phone has fastboot mode or not.
Well everything works as I tried to do the same thing on VM with Windows XP. There was the same thing happening (the blue LED disappears) but after system asked me for drivers. After I installed them the device started to work as it should and I manage to unlock the bootloader . That surely was driver problem so if you manage to install them on your system I'm sure it'll work. Thanks for help

Windows 8 USB and Fastboot drivers

Hi,
After trying multiple things i have had to post a new thread.
I cannot get the fastboot drivers working.....I have just got a new alienware laptop with windows 8 x64....i do have a desktop with Windows 8 x64 and the drivers installed fine on that system, but when it comes to this new laptop there are no dice.
I have tried:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575100
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982718
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43407191
I only have USB 3 ports, i have installed: HTC Driver 4.1.0.001.exe, this made the phone work fine connected when it is on to the USB.
But as soon as i go to bootloader or fastboot nothing displays, and the phone is not detected in the system manager.
Please can someone help me.
Thanks
Try this

Phone in download mode not recognized by PC

Hey guys, so here's my problem:
When I put my phone (TA-1052) in download/fastboot mode to unlock the bootloader, it is not recognized by my Windows 10 PC (64-bit) or Win 10 laptop (32-bit).
I've tried out different drivers and adb works fine. But as soon as I get into download mode and ask fastboot for a device list, it's gone!
The odd thing is that it doesn't show up in the device manager anymore. Windows also doesn't give the USB-connect sound when I plug in the cable.
Please help me out!
(I'm running Android Pie with the April 1st security update and I'm using the latest platform tools by Google)

Can't unlock bootloader, due to can't connect to fastboot

Hi guys,
I want to unlock the bootloader to flash a new recovery image and to flash lineageos on my device.
But connection to fastboot will not be established whatever approach I follow.
Stock Android is updated to the last version through update function.
I followed instruction on lineageos.org and on Sony side for my device to unlock bootloader,
I installed XZ2 device driver,
I used several versions of adb and fastboot (old and new versions)#
I tried Windows 7 prof. 32 bit, 64 bit, Windows 10 64 bit Prof.
I tried USB 2 and USB 3.0 ports
Don't know anymore what I should do to get things done.
If my XZ2 is running in normal Android mode, I'm able to access the internal memory via file explorer as well as
adb devices and
adb reboot bootloader is working.
Result: LED is almost not on, maybe one can detect a little bit of blue color and screen ist black.
Then
fastboot devices or
fastboot print-pit
will not give any answer. :-(
Does anyone have a good idea to proceed before I just give up?
Many thanks in advance
Illo
strange.
had the same issues with Windows 10. had to disable Win10 driver signature enforcement to install the correct Fastboot drivers for the Xz2.
So if it doesn't work in Windows 7 either you seem to have a different problem.
A. Try using different cable
B. Install 15sec adb installer
C. Reinstall the driver again after "adb reboot bootloader"
i had the same issue and tried various method. The thing that did for me was A. Weird, since the working cable was a cheap bundle one..
