Hello,
i have a note 5 Canadian version SM-N920w8 . i can't find the stock rom for it !!!! can anyone help me ...my phone is a brick right now
If your phone is really bricked stock firmware is not going to fix it. If it is not bricked Samsung Smart Switch can fix it. Mine failed the first time I used it but worked the second time. If you don't know what it is or how to use it just Google it.

Hi All
I was playing around with custom roms on my phone and stupidly managed to brick the phone.
I accidentally clicked the option repartition in ODIN when flashing a ROM...... I think this is how I bricked it.
I want to get it back to the official Optus 2.3.6 I9000XWJW6_I9000OPSJV6_OPS, I downloaded this official ROM from here (SamMobile)
If I try to install the above rom the phone just gets stuck on the start-up screen. (I notice errors in the phones recovery when trying to install the official firmware)
Or if anyone can get me back to a working phone with working firmware that would be awesome.
Any help would be much appreciated...
Thanks!
Found the solution!
This worked, thank god.

Hello there im not shure if this will help you but if you can flash the 2.3.6 and then to the 4.1.2 and get that working it might be possible to flash to the 4.2.2 , without knowing for shure i think that might be some issues "jumping" too far at one time like going from 2.2 to 4.2.2 ( just an example ) ............ as you can read in my post about a different problem + boot loop in my post http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab/help/galaxy-tab-gt-p1000-black-screen-lights-t2900334 i "think" i might have solved my boot loop problem when trying to flash 2.3.6 by flashing the dbdata file before alowing the tablet to boot into android as showed in the VIO vidoe on youtube.... so what im trying to say is......
try to get 2.3.6 working on your tablet by following.................... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuAgACCWdw8
and then root it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qrwDDd205o
and then flashing to 4.1.2.......... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOnhvCcJUKw
and when you have 4.1.2 working you might try to flash to 4.2.2 ?
i hope this helps you. ( there might be a simpler sollution to boot loop problem but dont know for shure ) )
Hi,
I have previously had GT-7000 (Without B) which now is a just bricked phone (hard). It had Philz-cwm6 for safe kernel and custom ROM which I really liked and only used for 2 months until the phone totally died.
Now I have another Galaxy Note 1 with me but this time,, It's GT-7000B (No it is not LTE model, its a Austrailian model for Vodafone and other austrailian network) and it hasn't been rooted and on 4.1.2.
I thought I really want to flash the phone with the same kernel and same custom ROM that I used on my previous phone on this new GN.
However, I am having a lot of trouble even trying to flashing the kernel on this phone.
Tried to flash through stock kernel (3e) and gives me error 7 stating that the process aborted since the phone is not GT-7000.
I have searched on the google and this website to try to find the ways to do it but unfortunately I couldn't find any information that could helped me with this issue.
Thank you in advance and look forward to hear anyone's help
I sorted out this problem by myself.
thanks

Morning there,
I've been reading all I've been able to since Monday here and also from search results in Google, but I still haven't got a clear idea if this is possible or not.
I live in UK and I've bought a new Galaxy Note 5, which I received last Saturday, the phone works fine, but it has a N920V firmware on it from Verizon US, and I want to get Android 7 on it.
Verizon hasn't updated the firmware for this phone since January this year, so no Android 7 on their network, at least I can't find any firmware on SamMobile.
I've downloaded Android 7 for it, but firmware N920C (for Turkey it seems...), I've tried to flash it with Odin v3.12.7, the phone has the FRP lock as OFF and I've gone into the developer options and turned ON usb debugging and OEM unlock, but Odin fails to flash it, I can still boot up the phone and use it as normal after Odin fails no issues, I just cannot flash it.
I don't want to root the phone, and I don't want to install any custom recovery or custom ROM either, I just want to install Android 7 and if possible have a firmware with less bloatware, hence I downloaded the N920C. I downloaded the latest N920C firmware available out of the 6 there is available, so if anyone here knows that I can use any of the other 5 and make it work I'll be happy anyway...
As always, many thanks for yourhelp in advance
Just contact me via whatsapp, and ill guide you. Because ive been pass the same problem with u.

Can you explain it here? I don't use whatsup, sorry.
I've flahsed the phone with the latest Verizon firmware from SamMobile, I tried to flash it again with the N920C but didnt work.
Now with the latest Verizon firmware it always throws me an error when I restart the phone saying that the "SIM is not from Verizon", but still works on my EE SIM, so not too worried about that.
Also, I see now a red screen with Verizon name when I restart it, something I didnt have before....
Anyone knows how to get rid of these 2 things? or better even, how to flash the N920C firmware to it?
Thanks
Hello,
I bought this phone second hand like 2 years ago, and I never received any update on it.
This is a Note 9 SM-N960U model.
And still is on One UI 1 version and Android 9 (N960USQS2CSGB).
So I want to properly update it. (I assume that the last firmware for it is the USC USA N960USQU8FUE1 one ?)
What could be possible to do ?
Can I Factory Reset the phone (after making a backup) then flash it to the last Software update with Odin or something ?
(Also, I tried using Samsung Smart Switch, but it says that the phone is already up to date).
I read online that I might have to flash it so It can be recognized as another model and make the process easier or something.
But It looks "dangerous" do to for something such expensive.
I need help in order to avoid bricking it. It's been a looong time for me.
Thanks.
(Also interested about rooting the phone, but that's another topic).
