I'm new here. Ive been searching forums but i haven't been able to find what i'm looking for. My G1 got wet and I dried it out. After about a week of it not turning on, It finally came on today. I inserted my Sim card but the phone would not recognize it. I saw some corrosion on the Sim card contacts and cleaned it. But it still wont recognize it. Any possible solutions ? I really want to get into G1 modification software wise but i cant access the phone to try any of the guides. And if i cant get it to recognize the Sim card. Is there a way to remove the Sim card message on the phone ?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
So I have a problem and I wanted to know if anyone can help. So I bought a T-mobile G1 off craigslist with no accessories or anything (like a micro sd card). When I turn on the phone it makes me login to Google and there's no way to skip it. I'm pretty sure it has the RC30 update because I've tried a couple of different methods to skip it and none of them work. I heard if you flash a custom rom it removes all the google logon but I don't have a micro sd card to do that. So my question is does anybody know a way to bypass the login with google on a RC30 with no micro sd or a t-mobile sim with data.
Also, I have AT&T and I'm planing to unlock the phone but even if I do that I still don't have data on my plan so it wont help much.
I solved my own problem, I bought a micro SD and then followed this HERE. I guess there's no way to bypass it on RC30 without downgrading with a microSD.
Can't log in through wifi? Or just don't want to? Tried tapping the 4 corners of the screen (top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left, in that order)
It wont let you connect with wifi or I can't get it to. Yes i tried that alot of times -.-
A coworker of mine found a Captivate on her road the other day. Trying to be a good neighbor, she put up found signs, posted on her community's facebook page, and has tried to answer the phone when people call. However, there is a screen lock (pattern), so she cannot access the address book or anything to try to find the owner.
Being that I'm a Captivate owner, she was asking me to help get info from the phone to help find the owner. If we still can't find the owner, she offered it to me for use for whatever.
Is there a way to read any info off the phone with the screen lock? Could I hook it up to USB and read stuff off the phone? My plan is to see if there's an external SD card that may have something on it. Other than that, if we can't find the owner, I'm supposing that I can just flash with Odin and have a blank Captivate.

The best way to do this will be to turn off the phone, pull out the external sd card, put CWM on it, put the card back in, load up CWM, connect the phone using USB, then mount the internal sd card. You just have to hope they didn't enable encryption at which point you are pretty much stuck wiping it.
I would think that AT&T would be able to find the owner by the IMEI number?

take it to att like DaveyBB said, and they should be able to read the sim card's number. which then they can find the number's owner and contact them
Put the external sd or sim card in your phone? Heh

Good to see there are still decent people out there.
Hope you find the owner who is desperately waiting for his/her captivate

My friend brought the Captivate in today. I pulled the SIM and put it into my phone. From there, I was able to see the contacts saved to SIM card and do a couple of reverse phonebook look ups.
The self phone number came up as a restaurant, which I thought was weird, but they also had listed two home phones. One house is right down the street from where my friend lives, so she's going over to return the phone this afternoon.

Hi everybody,
I have an HTC HD7 & I have a problem with my phone. Can someone help me?
The phone takes long time to startup, then it says:
"Your storage card has changed, is damaged, or is non-complaint.
To fix this turn off your phone and either remove the storage card or replace it with a new compaint card. Then you'll need to reset your phone to the original factory settings.
To reset you phone, refer to the owner's manual."
Then it gives me tow options: either to turn off or using emergency calls.
I don't have an SD card.
Did you opened the phone?
Have you removed the microSD? or even touched that area? just push the microSD maybe it got loose, dis it fell? that could be the caus of the loose card...
I have an HTC one I am trying to bypass the password screen on. It is the screen that requires a numeric password. I don't want to reset and lose anything on the phone. The phone was my son's and he passed away recently and would like all his pictures and videos and such off of it, don't want to hard reset. Can anyone tell me how, if I can do this ? I did get the sim unlock from t-mobile but apparently there are 2 levels, one for the sim and one for the phone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
As long as the phone is on can you not connect it to your computer using a usb lead, then in my computer go into the HTC On drive and then copy everything from the phone to your computer?
