Anyone having issues with Notifications?
I have my Gear all set up and its working...sort of.
I have email set up in the stock email app on the Note 3, infact I have 2 accounts set up and working.
I get the notifications coming through, but when I try and access them, the notifications app on the Gear crashes out with the message "Unfortunately Notifications has stopped"
I have tried to reset the Gear etc, with no change in behaviour.
Anyone else getting this issue, or has anyone any ideas to solve it?
Not experiencing that at all for four days of usage thus far...I'll let you know if I run into that same issue and/or find a solution.
Weird, I have hotmail and gmail accounts coming through native email app flawless w notifications in the Gear for each.

I swear have never seen a single email. I get texts regularly and even rechecked the email settings on the Gear manager several time to no avail. I have not the slightest idea what could be wrong...

Dont take this personally but, lets try this. Go the the Gear app, click settings, make sure NOTIFICATION is ON. Next, hit the word NOTIFICATION and it will take you to the sub menu. In that menu, is th estock email app checked or not? If no, that is why you are not getting email notifications.
Post back and we can keep trouble shooting it.
On your phone, you can go into settings-general-accounts-Google-click on your gmail account address at the top-uncheck SYNC GMAIL. That will stop sending emails to the gmail app and help to send them to the stock email app.

Thanks, I had done that several times already without success- will try again. I have all my emails checked, even Gmail though I read I will get no detail. That is indeed a useful tip you provided about unchecking the sync to force the G Mail to the stock app.

Couple of suggestions:
Deleted gmail app account in stock emai app and recreate it.
Reset the Gear watch. Go in the watch to settings, scroll to the bottom and hit RESET Gear option.
Delete the bluetooth connection from the phone to the Gear and recreate it.
If none of this works, go to a BB and if they have a Samsung kiosk, the guy there will trouble shoot it and fix it for you. Otherwise, it could be a defective Gear and will need exchange.

My Wife is getting it on hers - reset the phone and the watch multiple times - still not working. . .
Sometimes it stops working and just the screen lights up with no actual notification

[APP] Enhanced notifications aka ATN Manager <[v1.2.3.1_pre] NO FURTHER DEVELOPMENT>
LATEST VERSION: v1.2.3.1_pre
Installation:
I stopped developing and distributing this app due to the latest Gear firmware release which brings full notifications to all apps. This is far superior to the ATN app and I will defer to Samsung on this one ^^
Thanks for the support and feedback, you guys made this a really fun experience! Cheerio
Can that be a sticky please?

I'm getting my Gear this afternoon, will test it out
It has lots potential...
Installed. Would love a dummy rundown on what boxes to check for what notifications.

Seems to be working for me. I set gmail and google voice and both seem to work.Google voice shows the message, gmail only shows the senders name and the subject, so you cannot see the body unfortunately.
Did u check both the email and Gmail boxes on the app and in gear manager? I only checked Gmail and I am still getting regular notifications.

On the gear manager email needs to be checked, thats the base requirement. Gmail et al are optional.
In the ATN Manager you can check pretty much any app, some work well some don't and some won't work at all. I use and tested a very limited set and can only recommend experimenting with apps you want to receive notifications for and hope they work. Maybe we can start a list somewhere (please not here though) on which apps show notifications and which don't
Thank you, and awesome work! If possible, the couple of features that would be great would be setting different alerts for different apps, and location/date based alerting. I posted the first request on Github with the explanation of getting hundreds of emails a day, and wanting those alerts to still go to my Gear, but not vibrate, while having text messages and appointment reminders still vibrate. For the second request, I was thinking it would be awesome to have my corporate email alerts stop while at my office, and start back up when I leave. Also, it would be nice to have the ability to schedule alert sounds and vibrations based on time of day so that I don't have them going off while sleeping.
Be carefull..this thing screwed up my gear...i did the install, an decided to uninstaal because i got alot of emails with only numbers in it..now i keep getting the same mail as notification, and i cannot get rid of it...i have deleted it numerous times on the gear, it is deleted on my note and from my server...i even reset the gear...still i get the same notification...any help would be appreciated...

Uninstall the GearManager and reinstall it again. That should work. My app seems to send something that the NSync process doesn't like. It basically keeps the notification in the database and resends it everytime
Sorry

Yeah, seeing the same thing here. I just cleared the data for the NSync provider, hopefully that does the trick.

Can you be a little more clear on exactly what you selected?
If I select messaging and facebook does this mean I will get double notifications ?

You do not need to have "Communication notifications: checked. I just changed that and it worked perfectly
Not working at all for me:T-Mobile N900T
Baseband - N900TUVUBMI7
Gear Model: SM-V700
Software Ver.: V700XXUAMII
Installed ATN Manager, enabled in security settings, check apps, rebooted phone and watch twice. Nothing.

Works ok so far.
Just to be sure...
The icon is supposed to be the @email icon ?
Gmail and Google voice messages come in and both say "@BOB EXAMPLE or TEXT FROM BOB EXAMPLE" like EMAIL would.
I assume we turn off Gmail notifications on the default gear manager correct ?
Anyone have Instagram working ?
Lastly whats battery usage on the phone and gear like ? I assume its a drain in alpha stage just want to be prepared.
So does this or does it not show entire Gmail notifications?

I've had this phone for a few days and I've noticed that if not getting any notifications for Hangouts. I have to constantly check the app to see if I missed messages. It's the only app that's doing this to me. No problems with any other app. Anyone having this issue?
YES!!
It's pretty annoying because I am missing a bunch of google voice texts because of this.

I've noticed this as well -- but it seems to happen when I leave Hangouts as the active app on the screen when I turn it off (or it times out). If I go back to my home screen and out of Hangouts, then I get the message notifications.

Odd that a core Google app would have this problem when no 3rd-party app has done it. But Hangouts is due for an update anyways....

I saw this for the first time today when I picked up my nexus 7 and saw I had a google voice text from several hours earlier. Opened hangouts on my phone and saw the text had been received, but I couldn't remember seeing a notification. It then happened again a couple hours later. I've had the phone since Thursday and been receiving hangouts notifications until this morning.
I've been having the same problem. Has anyone seen a fix

I thought it was an issue with the ROM I'm using and/or the kernel. But as it turns out my girlfriend, using a Stock, Unrooted T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Avant, isn't receiving any hangouts notifications either. It seems it could be a bug across all hangouts apps. She has android version 4.4.2. And hangouts version 2.5.81636427, same as me.
Same problem here, 100% factory. Noticed lots of texts a day after they came in with no notification.
so everybody thats using greenify, and doesnt have hangouts greenified, there is a greenify setting that many enable) but will prevent you from getting a hangouts notification.. the setting is to have greenify notify you if you get notifications. turn if off and dont turn it on, as it will prevent you from getting hangouts notifications.
I'm not using anything like greenify. Running a custom kernel but this problem seems to happen regardless of kernel changing.
MMS Bug Again
I'm starting to think it's related to the MMS bug creeping back in again from the Developer Preview.
If you go into Hangouts and try to edit your Access Point Names, you won't be able to because the menu drop down isn't there
I'm having the same issue. I'll hear the hangouts messahes come in on my Nexus 5, but nothing shows up on my Nexus 6 and I have to manually scroll the conversation to eventually get it to update (when I finally updates)
It's within the settings of SMS from the Hangouts app.

Did you read the rest of my post @dawad
Yes, I did, which I responded that it's in the SMS settings from within Hangouts. APN doesn't appear if you select your hangout account, but is in the settings menu of Hangouts>SMS.
I'm seeing the same issue on my stock Note4, I'll not hear any verbal notification and don't see any visual notification, only way to know a text is received is to open hangouts and then I see several new texts.
Has anyone found a solution yet?
Same issue, I'm going to try what Simms suggested.

My phone upgraded to Oreo just yesterday. One issue that I've noticed, that I also had when I briefly tested the beta, is that I no longer seem to be able to find setting to change the sound of specific labels on Gmail.
Previously on nougat I had this set up so, that only messages under primary will cause sound, others show notification without sound (social, promotions, updates, forums). Has this option been completely removed in Oreo, or just moved elsewhere? Can't find such setting anywhere in Gmail or notification settings now.

Thanks, although I'm either being really stupid, or that's not just the option I'm looking for. I've tried going through that, but there simply is no option to change the label notifications like it was possible on Nougat. I can't select what labels to notify for, but no option to select notification without sound.
Is there something really obvious that I'm missing?
Notifications for Specific Gmail Labels Gone?
I set up filters to sort IMPORTANT emails into specific labels. I relied on that feature heavily to know when an important email came in that I needed to look at. Now it is all or nothing and I'm interrupted constantly by having to look at my phone for every single email. My time is important and I don't want to be interrupted from a client meeting for a stupid coupon or newsletter. But DO NEED TO KNOW when I get something from my BOSS. I am seriously upset. Is this a GOOGLE update, or a SAMSUNG/Android issue? it seamed to start yesterday or the day before right after my upgrade to the new Android Oreo
Really miss the option that I have used for years.
Special label sounds for:
-Important clients.
-My webcam mailing me, etc etc
So, while driving I hear who sends me the mail so I can decide to park the car...
Any workaround?

Nope you are not stupid but a real Gmail user.
Not many people went this deep in Gmail.
First make filter into lable etc etc
It is a real loss. And I see no other options like a different mail client .

I just can't seem to find a setting or app to have calendar notifications for events that don't disappear after a period of time. I have tried the default huawei calendar, Google calendar and any.do but none of them fulfill the above condition. I need the notification to persist in the status bar until I dismiss it personally.
Did you find a solution or workaround for this? I have this exact same problem!
Anybody?
Try Business Calendar
That's why I use the reminder instead.. the reminder seems to stay until I swipe it away.
I also have the Google Calendar widget on my front screen so I don't miss anything.

Ak I see you mean Google reminders. This is an improvement still not very flexible. All reminders clump together and I can't seem to discard them one by one. Plus if you go into view them they automatically discard themselves.
I still dont understand why Huawei messed around with the original calendar so much - the stock android version is pretty much perfect
For some reason Huawei's calendar took out reminders so I have it inactive and have Google's calendar running instead.
