Hi All,
Yesterday I just got a AT&T's Galaxy Note I717 that is unlocked to work on my T-Mobile which thread do I go to root it? And what rom thread do I use?
I have unlocked phones to flash roms but never had a unlocked phone for a different carrier.
Thank you

My uncles one was unlocked mate. My normal gs3 from them is unlocked to as I'm using it on amaysim

Cheers, I figured it would be. Its been awhile since I have seen a decent phone locked to any Telco and I suppose its also because of how easy it is to unlcok them.
The reason I ask is because I have obtained a second GS3 4G and I will be selling it so I needed to know if its unlocked before I off load it. Id prefer to leave the phone sealed in the box,
I would try mine but 1. I dont have a foreign sim to try it on. 2. its already rooted and had a custom rom installed so there is a good chance that would have unlocked it.

You have to consider that point.
I would say flashing firmware from the 64gb version will brick the 32. Again I'm pulling on experience from my s3 and flashing firmware from the 32gb onto my 16gb.

This is plain wrong
The storage has nothing to do with the os. Android automatically adjusts for the capacity

I can't see, atleast from a hardware standpoint, why this wouldn't work, but I am not experienced enough with android to know for certain.

I'm looking for anyone who's on Rogers and is rooted as I'm looking for the original sku_id of the device.
Since flashing to a custom rom, signal bars and icons aren't as they were and I need to change my sku_id to make it accurate again.
If you are rooted and on Rogers, all I need you to do is go into Root Explorer in the directory /system/customize/ACC/default.xml and look for the sku_id value. Should be on line 432. Mine is currently set at 42.
Please and thank you!

Because then I would have to wipe and restore for a simple value which I really didn't think it would be this hard to get lol
There's gotta be SOMEONE on Rogers with stock rom in these forums...

Since you're on MJ5, your bootloader is locked. The ONLY way to install a custom rom is to use safestrap. You'll need Safestrap-HLTEATT-3.71.apk.

There are several good 4.3 roms available, and safestrap is a very, well.., safe way to flash roms. No custom kernels or CyanogenMod though.

Thank you guys but I am used to more freedom aka Unlocked bootloader ,that's crazy though that the ATT version is as strict as big red
