Looking for a tutorial on downgrading XT1095 - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I sideloaded 5.1 and would like to downgrade.

You can't. It's that simple.

Will I be able to update to M when it comes out or will I have to keep sideloading since I did it once?

Rooted on sprint. Anyone found a way to get the new update?

Pretty much what the title says. If your rooted how do you install the update?

Stock GSM Developer Edition recovery anyone?

Looking for the gsm Dev edition 4.4 recovery. I boot loader unlocked and installed twrp to flash supersu, but now I want to go back to stock recovery for OTA ability and I'm not positive the recovery is any different from the other moto x versions.
Thanks!

RSD lite back to stock. There's several threads with guides back to stock.

I read your post, what is the issue? I have the same device and the stock firmwares are available for you. I am confused. You can get the proper images needed and flash through fastbooot. Your bootloader is unlocked so it's possible.

Then download the stock restore package, use Moto's Fastboot, and only flash the recovery image.

How to root & prepare for custom rom?

I just ordered a Moto X Verizon, and I will be rooting it and flashing Eclipse rom onto it. Is there any reason not to take all the OTA updates from Verizon, and then root and do safestrap or? Not sure how it works. I
Thank you
Go read Jcase "slap my moto" thread in original development and after your done....read it again. The many posts in that thread have the answers your looking for pertaining to OTAs and what goes along with rooting the moto x on 4.4

No custom rom for you then unless you install SafeStrap.
Yea I know I'd have to use safestrap. But is the latest OTA root able and safestrapable? Just wanted to be sure before I take the ota update from Verizon

Safestrap is not KK compatible yet AFAIK.
And yes it is rootable. Good amount of work though.

5.1 for XT1095

Did XT1095 receive the 5.1 update yet?
Because I rooted my phone, not quite sure whether I can receive the notification.
Thanks!

Nope not yet
You will still receive the notification even though you have root. But if you try to install it, it will fail. You have to go back to stock to be able to install it.

Rooting stock 5.1

So I'm planning to root my X for the first time and I'm on stock 5.1.
As long as I remain on stock the moto features do not get affected right?
Also, if I am on stock rom but rooted, will it affect any future OTA?

The stock features remain unchanged after root.
You can't take an ota with root. You have to be 100% stock for updates to work.

Its worth noting that you can just fastboot flash the system prior to taking an OTA to allow it. No need for a full factory reset or anything.

There you go. 100th thanks
Also, how do I check the status of my bootloader? I've got a pure edition. Pardon me for the stupid question but I've never used a device other than a Samsung which were pretty straight forward to root.
If by any chance I need to come back to stock rom what would the steps for that be?

1) Power off phone; 2) Tap and briefly hold Power and Volume Down. The bootloader version will show at the top of the next screen.
