strange, normally you should be able to reboot it in bootloader mode by using power and volume down. Is it detected when connected to a computer?

Hey, a fellow XDA member has managed to soft brick his One. He flashed a bad zip file, and his phone boot loops. He cannot access the boot loader as he has Fast Boot turned on in Settings - Power, however he can't turn this off as he can't turn the phone on. Has anyone got any advice?

No the LEDs just flash forever
put the phone under a bright light.
hold down power, lights will flash and phone will shut down in about 15-20 seconds
then hold volume down and power to get back to bootloader

hello,
actually it's my problem. thanks MacHackz for all the help he already has done for me.
I tried that with a bright light. it worked in this way that phone really turns off, but as soon as I remove the light, it turns on again. I cannot get it into bootloader.
EDIT: I flashed the phone with MAG-light from the start of charging. screen was black, but buttons started to blink. it went into hboot, and from there I went into recovery. I went to a reboot and press power off. I'll recharge it fully, and then I'll try to sideload a new ROM.
EDIT II: I tried to charge it, but it simply wont stay off. as soon as I plug the cable in, it turns on! I manage to enter HBOOT so I went into recovery and there phone is charging. so, I'll recharge it there and upload a RUU.
does anyone has right RUU? I have EU version from UK.
Did you not make a backup before flashing ??, there is a list of roms on Mikes Android Revolution Rom post - have a look at his guide
Heres another list also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2194707

many thanks man indeed, you helped me like anyone before !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow...i've been sitting in my dark bedroom for the past 90 minutes trying everythign to wake up my damn phone after it crashing and not coming back to life. ADB was still responsive but none of the reboot commands would do anything. FINALLY found this, went in the bathroom, held the phone up to the light with the power button help down and 10 seconds later it's back to life. double you tee eff...
Last night I plugged my phone in when it was at 9%. Woke up this morning and it was dead.
Steps Taken:
1. Tried 6 other chargers (including a tablet charger)
No luck2. Held down Power+Volume Down
Boot menu loaded. Tried to "Reboot". No luck.Went into Boot again, tried charging it and it said "Fastboot AC" Left it at this for almost 45 minutes and tried booting but thing.3. Plugged into a computer and nothing.
4. Tried the Light + Sensor + Power/Volume trick.
5. Computer recognizes it as (Android 1.0)
Cannot plug it into a desktop with Sync Manager due to at work ATM6. Tried holding power.
7. Tried power + Volume Up
I'm very stuck at this point.
I have no LED's, no home button lighting up. Phone isnt getting warm on a charger like usuall. Need some help please.
PS I read multiple threads on not powering on and did all the tricks I can. From what I've read they all could get nothing out of the phone where as I had something in the begining.
Phone is stock. It was rooted, but I have it back to stock now.
Alright new update.
Plugged the phone into the computer. Installed HTC Sync Manager. Held down Power + Volulme down. The computer beeps as if new device connected. I hit the power button again and the phone disconnects from the computer. Could this be a fault display or bad board?
does the device manager on windows show:
QHSUSB-DLOAD mode ????
Qualcomm Highpeed USB Download Mode
if yes... it's pretty much a bricked device... if you're on stock... just return it..
even if it was rooted they won't be able to boot it up either... and so they won't see if it was rooted..

I once heard about a guy that had a similar problem like you...
he said that he charged his phone for ~10 Minutes and then pressed the power button for more than 90 seconds... this resetted his charging mode (or something similar) and his phone worked again... I'll link you the thread if I find it again...
try this once

Tried this. HTC Also told me to try something new.. Charge the phone for 15 minutes. Hold down the Power+Volume UP+Volume DOWN for 2 minutes (Or untill the screen lights up). This will reset the battery memory.
This did not work...

I recently bricked my HTC One. It was stuck in a boot loop, so I flashed CWM onto it and then sideloaded the insert coin rom. After going through the installation my phone turned off. When I went to turn it on again the whole device was unresponsive, no lights, I cant get into the bootloader or recovery mode. Is there any way to fix this on my own?

well keep phone plugged to the wall charger a while then try to hold power until the phone boot or power + vol down. Do this under a bright light to activate the light sensor
if you can't make it boot there is not much we can do

Well it looks as if I'm pretty SOL for now. I will keep the phone charging for the next few days and will try to boot under a bright light. If none of that works I'll just have to get a new phone
So, i shut down the phone and when i booted it it was stuck at the bootloader. The power button doesn't work, the volume down button doesn't work and the phone is not recognized by the pc(windows 8.1). Idont know what to do.

well if it stays in the bootloader you could relock and flash a RUU
I HAVE THAT SAME EXACT PROBLEM!! My HTC One M7 was working completely fine until the battery died earlier this evening. I charged and switched it on (without pressing the volume down button, just the power button) but it seemed to have entered the bootloader. But while in there, only the volume up button works, neither the power button nor the volume down button worked (though I never had any issues with them prior to today!) So now I'm stuck in this screen. Doesn't help if I shut it down or let the battery drain then recharge it. It's just stuck here...
If anyone's got ideas on how to solve this, please do let me know
BandicootUK. Did you find a solution? I'm having the same problem.
Hello everyone, guys have the opportunity to restore the brick? I have RP2 devices.
Are you able to get into fastboot mode, by holding volume down button while switching the phone on?
nothing happens, where it doesn’t enter and the screen does not light up does not even charge. (((
Are you sure, it itsn't freezing in android? Check: Hold Vol+ and Power for 10 seconds.
Yes, I already tried to hold for 10 seconds, and even 5 minutes does not help the phone as if nothing had died.
what else should I do please tell me there are still options to restore?
If you've tried both method above, then there's pretty much nothing else you can do to revive this phone.
It does look nice as a paper weight though. /s
