Back-to-n0t3 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

As some will know, user arter97 has created a rom from note 5 dumps that is smoother and well optimized, but unfortunately only supports G920F. From my research, all the differences I can find between variants is the radio bands they use. Given that these can be changed by the app advanced signal status, would there be anything else to change when running unsupported roms? Good luck trying this with me

From what I know you need to have a 5.1.1 bootloader of which the ATT doesn't have . a

Unikernel is on g920a and that's 5.1.1, is kernel separate from bootloader?

*UPDATED* [ZIP] All in One LTE Enabler, Flash ONE zip, and have BAND 4 LTE on any ROM

App now available with the same functionality a zips below!
More info about app here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607221
Changelog:
12/7/2013: Updated zip for 4.4.1 Using cg87 98-33 and 98-27 hybrid modems . Updated script to try to prevent duplicate build.prop entries.
8/9/2013: Updated zip to remove the installation of the older outdated snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 audio file. This is not needed with the hybrid modem.
7/26/2013:
Updated to morrislee awesome hybrid radios. Works on 4.3 and 4.2! LTE awesomeness, and still has all the newer features (power management, audio on T-Mobile, etc.) from the newer radios.
What is it?:
I have created a AIO ZIP that can be flashed on your phones recovery and will enable lte.
It flashes the awesome.33/84 hybrid (or .27/84 depending on zip) radio/modem by morrislee, fixes audio by overwriting the necessary file, and automatically updates your build.prop with the needed changes.
ALSO this zip will put 2 CM Backup scripts in /system/addon.d , now if your phone supports CM Update scripts (CM of course,Carbon as well, and im sure alot more ROMS) you will only have to flash this ZIP once, it will automatically backup/restore the needed files and make the changes to enable LTE on each ROM Update, just like it currently does for GAPPS.
.27/98 radio and .33/98 hybrid modem bundles available for download above. Recommended for KitKat users.
.27/84 and .33/84 hybrid modems are recommended for jellybean users . Also available at above link
Manually: (Depending on ROM)
You might have to manually enable LTE either in Settings-->Wireless &Networks More.. --> Mobile networks --> Change network mode to "LTE /GSM/WCDMA" (CM10 automatically did this for me)
If that's not an option and LTE isn't enabled, dial *#*#4636#*#* and Tap WCDMA from under "Set preferred network type". Select "LTE/GSM auto".
Depending on ROM you will either have to select or input LTE APN under Settings--> Wireless &Networks More.. --> Access Point --> (TMobile LTE APN is fast.t-mobile.com , most roms have this included)
FAQ:
Q. What modem should I use .27/84 hybrid or .33/84 hybrid
A. Try them both, see which one you like better. Test speed, battery life and reception with both. Results are different for everyone.
Q. Does this work with AT&T, Vodafone, Rogers etc
A. Flashing this ZIP will enable Band 4 LTE on your nexus 4, T-Mobile uses this in the USA. Check for Band 4 carriers here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
Credits to: (make sure to send thanks to all involved!)
XDA user cg87 for 98-33 and 98-27 hybrid modems
XDA user morrislee for putting together the awesome .27 and .33 hybrid .84 modems!
XDA user haze_nme for making the orginal LTE build.prop script.
XDA user efant again for the original cwm-mako-NoAudioFixForTMobileUSA.zip
Anyone else involved in getting LTE working on this device.
Thanks. I will try this out.

Do i just need to root my phone and install this?

Yes it will work on stock 4.2.2, however you will need to unlock bootloader, and flash a custom recovery , which is needed to flash this.
Works flawlessly. This is just what I was looking for. .33 killed audio on paranoid android, but with this zip it fixes that.

Oh , my bad small error in update script. Going to upload fixed version now. The ZIP does work, and enable LTE fine , but CM Update scripts to keep it alive when you update ROM aren't coping over correctly.
EDIT: Links updated with new version
You should make a quick revert script to place everything the way it was before flashing this script.

To my knowledge there's still no fix for the network location/aGPS issue. I'm on T-mobile and found that it didn't need to do any mods to get tethering working on LTE.

Very nice, thank you both for the prompt responses! I've been using a script for the past couple days rvrrytime I flash a rom, but i gotta restore the script manager app every time. Cuts out a couple steps for me. The script does some extra build prop edits but i think it's just the various network optimizations that have been passed around.
Thanks again, gonna have to flash something for the sake of it!

You can't flash ROMS on the ATT Note 3 yet. There is safe strap that is still in Alpha testing and is not yet 100% working. It however is not a true root and eats up a large amount of internal memory where the image file of the ROM is stored. There is a thread on Safestrap and how it works. Use it at your own risk. Outside of that it is IMPOSSIBLE to flash an ATT Note 3 right now..

The issue is that even with safe strap you can't flash any ROM. The ROM first has to be tailored to work with and around safe strap since it is not truly a ROM but a bootloader bypass and works a little differently. So until developers either jump on board and tweak ROMS to work with safestrap or they wait till the bootloader is unlocked, there are no ROMS right now to flash..

I said you could not flash them reliably and have them 100% functional. There is still testing being conducted on all the ROMS claimed to work and no one has confirmed 100% functionality with all apps and hardware. So they are still not certified reliable like a real flash would be..
If you have tested the three you have used 100% on both hardware and apps then you need to get in there and say so because they are looking for 100% proof of function confirmation..
Not going to argue semantics with you.
I will say that I have flashed to rom slots 1 thru 4 and the stock slot and restored backups to them all with no issues. And am currently running the ported xnote7 with no issues at all. So yes, roms can be installed to AT&T Note3 phones.

Have you been actively participating in the development of this phone? I've been doing this for years and I'll be honest. 99% of custom rooms do not run 100% perfect or functional. That being said, instead of telling everyone we can't flash ROMS. Why not tell them what we do have and let him decide if it is what He is looking for.

I am just going by all the "this does not work, or this fails, or my apps no longer load" and the list goes one of post in the SS thread right now.. For some it maybe stable but it seems the majority is having more problems then they had with stock.

possible to get wifi calling on custom ROM & Kernel?

Is it possible to get wifi calling working on a rooted non-stock ROM and Kernel?
Thanks,
I'm running Rapture ROM 2.1 (rooted) using UniBase kernel BOG8 and wifi calling works fine.
If you install this ROM, you need to make sure you install this kernel or you won't have any in-call audio.
Or were you meaning something like CyanogenMod? Because if that's what you mean, the answer is no.

No, I'm running XtreStoLite Deo-Mod Edition 2 with the same kernel you are. I made the CSC edits, and the setting now appears in my phone menu....but I don't know how to test to see if it's working?
Do you see it under Connections > More Connection Settings > WiFi Calling? You toggle it there.
Edit: Turn it in and set it to WiFi Preferred

Is the rom you're running T-Mobile firmware based or international? There should be an apk associated but it's deeper than that, I think it's a framework thing. International just won't work. People have been trying as long as I can remember

It's built into the framework from what I understand. There was at least one dev that was looking at trying to make wifi calling work outside of TW-based ROMs, but the thread was closed.

Sure, I'll get right on that. Would you like solid gold wings and a toupee with that? How about fries?
Wait, no. We are out of wings... how about silver training wheels on a skateboard?
Take a look in development, there's a ROM there that has all that. Minus the tethering, that you'll have to test yourself.

Flashing Non-Tmobile Specific ROM

Hello,
I am curious to know if there is any ROMs in the general Note 4 Development section (Snapdragon of course) that are compatible w T-mo variant. Is flashing T-mo specific ROMs more to keep certain features? Like wifi callin? My device is unlocked cuz I'm w ATT and I'm prettymuch just looking to explore other ROMs. Thanks!
