You could simply use supercid (11111111) like donkeykong1 said or if you really want your original cid back then you'll need to dump the mfg partition where the original CID is stored.
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/mfg_backup.img
exit
exit
Then send me the mfg_backup.img file from your sdcard and i'll be able to tell you what was your original cid
Note that the above command can be dangerous, better to copy/paste it.
And don't share the mfg_backup.img file to everyone as it also contain your IMEI number.

As far as I know, CID is not important for ROMs to work correctly. Right @alray? I mean, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T have their own threads, so, basicaly WWE phones are good to go regarding ROMs from general development section regardless of your CID?

Thanks for your reply .

Exactly :good: CID is not important when flashing roms, only when flashing RUU or when updating using ota updates.

No RUU is available for Indian region. If you want to go back to stock from a custom rom or for warranty, your only way was cwm backup.

To remove tampered badge, you need to flash stock recovery file. Actually you are still Rooted.
Go into your backup and extract Recovery.img.
then enter into fastboot and execute the Flash recovery.img
tampered should now be gone.
Yes, that would be of great help.

Yes i have already put it for dropbox upload. its a whopping 1.7gb upload so will take some time. are backups supposed to be so large?
I shall still share the process as to how i took the backup so that you guys can be sure its a correct file.
I unlocked my bootloader. that wiped all data and media from my phone. i flashed TWRP and then took a backup of System, Data, and Boot.
after that i flashed Cyanogenmod.
So i am uploading that same backup of stock 4.2.2 of indin HTC one M7.
One questtion? is this backup wat we call a Nandroid backup. or is it something different.
ya it is same as nandroid backup you have to backup all partitions for that
Hi Sahil,
I am also looking for Stock backup for my Indian version HTC One CID-038. I would be so happy if you get that; and I will even donate some amount!

You can use one of three methods to get a ROM (even with S-On, you can still use any ROM) to your phone. In CWM/TWRP recovery:
1- adb push
2- adb sideload
3- OTG cable

You canĀ“t install a RUU while S-ON but you can download any ROM. Just put zip file into adb folder.
From your recovery use adb sideload command or push file to install the rom
Thank you Both for the fast reply. Fixed my HTC one already! Thank you!
One More thing.. which rom is best for me? i tried the taiwan rom. but came with 801e.. which is wrong because my model is 801s

Which ROM did you use? I believe you can pretty much use any of the ROMs in the development thread, as far as I can tell the only difference is hardware related, and the ROMs usually work for all variants (except Sprint, Verizon and Dual Sim).

[Q] Android 5 update...

Greetings to all..
I'm a proud owner of a HTC ONE (m7)
Recently i downloaded the Android 5 update for my device... (unlocked)
RUU_M7_UL_K443_SENSE60_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_6.07.1540.2_Radio_4T.28.3218.04_10.33E.1718.01L_release_404528_signed_2.exe
from HTC USA site...
I have been having problems instaling it to my device...
First of all, i found a bit strange that in the update info says... i'm updating from OS 6.09.401.11 to 6.07.1540.2.. ( Isnt it suposed to be a higher value or something that the one i run now?
And then.. in the update part.. it stops and signals the 155 error...
My Question is... Wtf is that... What am I doing wrong..?
My phone info:
*** Unlocked ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT- 1.57.0000
RADIO- 4T.29.3218.08
OpenDsp-v32.120.274.0909
OS-6.09.401.11
Running android 4.4.3

You can't jump from .401 (European version) to .1540 (Developer Version). You first need S-OFF, Change CID to BS_US001 and MID to PN0712000.

Well.. the main question after all your info is...
Is it worth the search in how to.... "You first need S-OFF, Change CID to BS_US001 and MID to PN0712000." ? ( Is it hard to do all this? )
Or do you think is better for me to way for the update?
I have some knowledge in changing roms and etc...
But in the one.. the far as i go for now was unlocking bootloader thru htc tuturial...
Thank you again..

The only way to S-OFF phone on hboot 1.57 is to use Sunshine S-OFF which cost 25$
Changing cid (s-off required) is as simple as "fastboot oem writecid BS_US001"
Changing mid (s-off required) to PN0712000 require to use this tool from custom recovery
Then you can flash the 7.17.1540.7 dev edition RUU
Turned it to F*Developer mode

Ur Pro

[Q] About to use the lollipop RUU but have some questions.

Hi there, so I'm looking to flash lollipop to my M7 but first want to verify I've taken the right steps.
Here's my phone's info:
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.56.00000
RADIO-4A.23.3263.28
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-4.19.631.9
eMMC-boot 2048MB
MID: PN0712000
CID: ROGER001
version-main 4.19.631.9
Now, as far as I'm aware, this is the unlocked edition of the M7. I'm hoping to use this RUU here To flash lollipop onto my phone:
RUU_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_7.17.1540.7_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_420191_signed_2.exe (can't post link because I just registered)
My concern is that while my phone is listed as M7_UL (m7_unlocked I gather), the CID reads "Roger001". I currently have used the phone only with Virgin Mobile in Canada (Bell Canada's network) and had no problems, but I just want to make sure this won't mess up my radio or make it unusable with my carrier.
I've also gone ahead and backed up all my data from my phone on my computer, and created a nandroid backup as well (although I'm not sure if I could even use the nandroid if things went poorly, because I think I'll be losing custom recovery right?)
Any advice or links to information I might be missing would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Also, forgot to mention, my phone is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked.

Nope it won't work, simply because you are s-on, you require 631 RUUs simple as that, you cannot flash a 1540 RUU, however if you go s-off then you can.
M7 UL mean HTC One model 7 not sure what the u stands for, but the L is with LTE support.
You would need to s-off your phone to change the cid and flash the developer firmware in order to flash the developer 1540 ruu, s-off can only be done using sunshine and will cost $25.

Here's my phone's info:
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.56.00000
RADIO-4A.23.3263.28
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-4.19.631.9
eMMC-boot 2048MB
MIDN0712000

1.56 rumrunner S Off
nothing will stop you just change CID BS_US001 and flash ruu

So if I S-Off using rumrunner then change my CID to "BS_US001" I can successfully flash the RUU?
The thought of S-Off scares me slightly, can someone confirm that there's no chance that this method will brick my device, and that I won't have any issues with the radio?

Yes with s-off you'll be able to flash the firmware and then the RUU

The procedure to s-off itself is not risky, but when s-off is achieved, you'll always have to be careful what you flash. S-OFF remove protection from crucial partitions on your phone and let you flash anything you want without verification. So if you flash something not compatible with your phone, you can brick it.

You'll be fine using dev edition on Canadian carriers. I have personally tested on Fido, Rogers, Telus and Koodo. Should work too on Bell/Virgin.

Great, thanks! In terms of what's compatible, is it pretty much just using common sense, i.e. not flashing a rom meant for the M8 or some other phone, or are there more things that could make something incompatible that I would need to learn about in the future?
Also, the ROM I posted here and intend to flash, it's for sure compatible? Sorry I know I'm probably being a bit overcautious

Yes its safe to use that ruu on your phone.
TO avoid potential brick, always make sure you flash files for
M7_U or M7_UL variant. Files for other variants (e.g M7WLS will brick your phone)
Do not try to flash roms for other phones. We often see ppl bricking their M7 because they have mistakenly flashed an HTC Droid DNA rom on it.
Check MD5 values on your download to make sure your files are not corrupted before flashing <--- important!
Ask questions if you are not sure of the file you want to flash.
---------- Post added at 06:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:09 PM ----------
and if you want to update your firmware, very important:
use a full firmware package
if using firmware package from ota files, they must be flashed incrementally.

Sorry, one final question. Do I understand you correctly that I need to first flash a new firmware for my phone before using the RUU? If so where would I find this? I originally thought that the RUU would update the firmware for me.

You normally need to be on 6.xx.xxx.x or 7.xx.xxx.x firmware to use the 7.xx.xxx.x RUU. You can try to use it but im pretty sure the ruu will stop at 5% (checking headers). If so, you must flash the firmware first. You can use the 6.07.1540.2 firmware posted in my thread.

[Q] OTA 5.02 Update with TWRP

Hello,
I have looked on xda for an answer before i started this thread but couln't really find the answer or solution i'm personally looking for.. The problem is a friend of mine is S-On with an ex-contract HTC One (M7) CID is something like VODA..... and his HBoot is 1.57.0000 - I'm trying to S-Off his phone so he can get rid of the Vodafone and Flash Firmware and European RUU (This is i can do) but i need to S-Off it 1st ... I installed TWRP so as to root his phone and unlocked the bootloader (HTCDev unlock token) BUT now the problem is, he's just had the Lollipop 5.02 OTA update and of course, cannot instal it with TWRP present :/ i was told just to flash Stock recovery over it? is this correct? and if so, how would i go about it please and how would i get S-Off on his mobile please? I'm lead to believe that Sunshine S-Off is the only option with that HBoot version.. ?
Many thanks in advance to xda and its members :good:

better to achieve s-off now before taking the ota update or you will need to wait for the new release of sunshine (3.0).
Yes sunshine is the only way to achieve s-off on hboot 1.57.
Achieve s-off
change cid to HTC__001
change mid (if required) to PN0710000
flash the latest ruu 7.19.401.2

Thank you - Yes, the CID i was going to change to HTC___001 and the RUU i have is: RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_HTC_Europe_4.19.401.9_R_Radio_4A.23.3263.28_10.38r.1157.04L_release_353069_signed_2-1
Firmware:
fw_4.19.401.9_custom.zip
So would i just look for a European RUU with that No. (7.19.401.2)?
and is that Firmware ok please?
I really aappreciate the help here.
And Sunshine S-Off it is
is this any good please? https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934533542
I meant to add - i can flash the Firmware with S-On can't i? as it's custom.. do i need to be rooted for that? and once firmware has been flashed i will need to Sunshine S-Off or Sunshine 1st then the rest? can i instal that RUU on S-On? If so i will just go ahead (without updating to 5.02) ..would this be ok? I think i need S-Off to chaange CID though dont i? so Sunshie 1st it would be?

No you don't understand, you must use the fastboot version posted at page 4 or it will not work. Read the post you'll understand. The regular fastboot from the Android sdk won't work for this RUU.
I see now ..i got the HTC_Fastboot.exe ...is this correct? also, i'm downloading the European.RUU now .. will this come with the Firmware.zip or will i need to search and flash that 1st please? i'm sorry if i'm confusing the issue but i'm really quite new at this and don't totally understand.. also, would the CID still be HTC___001 and can i change that with s-on? 'fastboot oem writecid'
I need to change CID 1st dont i? then Firmware then RUU? then finally S-Off with sunshine before the 5.02 update
ok i've got fw_7.19.401.2-NoRed_NoWipe Firmware and will read up on how to use the htc_fastboot.exe

The European RUU is HTC___001. If your phone is s on you cannot change your CID. You need s off to do that

do not flash that firmware whilst s-on, its modified firmware and will brick your phone, you need s-off to change your CID or falsh any different firmware than vodafone firmware.
I discovered that last night i kinda knew anyway that i could not change the CID without S-Off but with everything going on i forgot.. iv'e decided to stick Android Revolution HD 91.1 on his HTC One.. at least he'l have 5.02 and a quick & reliable OS ... iv'e head that 5.02 is the last OTA update for the M7 so it wouldn't matter if he can't update ..cheers for your help anyway
Sorry, i only read half your reply - will i need to change CID for Android Revolution HD? will this be safe to flash onto his device please?
