Anyone who have problem with enable speaker when incall? Can't conversation and must reboot mobile.
Both apps have issues with microphone. Bbm voice and Zello's microphone functions over the receiver audio speaker(earpiece) instead of the phone's default located beneath. Did some test only to find that the problem exist in my Sony xperia z ultra. Tried other apps like Skype and phone calling did not appear to have the microphone problem and it worked accordingly from its default microphone (which is beneath the handset) Any thoughts on this? I am running 4.4.2 Build: 14.3.A.0.757.
Hi
I have a Xperia Z1 and i have MIC issues. It is a primary mic. People can not hear me well, there is sparkling and like waterfall/windy sound.
I tryed Factory reset and it doesnt work. Secondary MIC working fine but not Primary.
Even when recording videos it is the same.
What is the issue of this? Is it standard problem with Z1? Its not expensive to replace to new one but i just wonder if someone other have same issue?
Where is the MIC flex cable located?
I do have the same problem.. But only with whatsapp sound messages, everything else works fine..
can't figure out how to fix this or what is causing this problem.. :/
Ye it is wierd but for me nothing works not even calls

Can someone help me where the mic is located?
I found a mic on top of the phone under the cover and disabled it and turn phone on and tryed to see if it is any
sound recording but i still got same issue even when mic us not connected to mainboard.
Is it wrong MIC? It has primary and secondary where are they located? Please help
Ok i found it

The MIC i disconnected was secondary mic. The primary mic is on bottom of the phone built in with speakers i think.
I believe I have the exact same problem. The primary microphone seems to have died completely or people could just hear a distorted "canny" voice. I have no idea how to solve this.
I have even more miracious issue - my microphone (in C6903, Qualcom MSM8974, software: 14.5.A.0.270, Android 5.0.2, kernel: 3.4.0) works only in Whatsup and not Viber (which is another communicator) and normal call ?
How is it possible that mic works in Whatsup but not in Viber ?
Thanks,
Artur

Hi Arif,
I am also facing same problem after upgrading lolipop in my Z2, i went to Sony Center they enabled Hearing Aids option in call settings
now my voice is clear to the callers. I am not sure weather it's an hardware issue or software issue.
Go to Settings then Call there you can find Hearing Aids
Thank you,
Raam.
Hi All,
I'm on the latest firmware 7.1.1. It's a brand new phone (Z3+ E6553 - Hong Kong model) I just got after breaking my older one. Basically, nobody can hear me properly during a call unless I bring the mic very close to my mouth.
I tried
1. software repair,
2. factory reset,
3. disabling 'ok google',
4. changing mic sensitivity under sound/accessory setting,
5. Covering up the secondary mic
- no luck.
Surprisingly, the phone records perfectly fine (checked both mics using the service menu). Actually it does better than my XZ premium. I also recorded a clip using the (video) camera app holding it as if I was on a call and it recorded perfectly - both mics work great. It just acts up when I use the actual 'call' app.
So I'm really scratching my head at this moment - how can it be a hardware issue if the service menu/video camera app test results are better than my XZP's. Is there any known fw issues with microphones during calls on some models/fw builds? Really don't want to return it if it's a sw issue. Thanks a lot!
