I've been having an issue with Caller ID not showing up for some of my contacts when they call - particularly ones that have a country code prefix in the address book.
Does anyone know how I can make the phone recognize that contact is calling me? I had a Nexus 5 prior to my Samsung Note 5 and never has this issue.
If anyone can help it'd be much appreciated.
Thanks a ton!

Any one having my problem:
My Diamond is not recongnizing phone numbers from my contact or basically the caller ID is not working for some reason. Help - this is really annoying......
Thanks in advance
I didn't receive my diamond yet but from previous experience with some phones it s a matter of recognizing the number of digits in a phone which is country dependent.... like the iphone for exemple ... i had a terrible experience with that ... I had to put for each contact two numbers , one with the country code (+212 .....) and a second without... that way he could recognize the incoming caller ID in both calls and sms....
you should try doing that and tell us if it works!!!
By default it matches on the last 8 digits of the phone number. If phone numbers are less than 8 digits in your country then it may not work properly.
You can use advanced config to edit the number of digits.
It would help to find related issues on this forum, in stead of opening new topics. Every day a full new page (or more) of new topics appear, lots of which are duplicates.

Supplying people with more information would also help to solve the problem easier. Which ROM, what exactly happens and when... etc.
I got a strange problem on my MDA Vario IV (HTC touch Pro). have got most of my contact numbers stored without the ISD code ..so typically looks like 07932******. Now when I receive a call it shows the contact name /or pic. But any text message shows only the number and comes up as +447932******. So I changed the contact number to read +447932******. But guess what ? the text display works fine, but the caller ID for incoming call now does not show the contact name..jus the number.. Anybody come across this?
Thanks

hi
well my friend, i am also experiencing the same problem you have described...exactly the same way you have described it...hopefully someone will advice us a it more on this issue. i changed roms but that problem is this here.
I have a pretty specific question, I searched and didn't see anyone else ask this, don't know if anyone noticed or knows how to change this but:
Is there anyway to make your call log say the company that you called using google map instead of having the phone number? I know iphone and WM google maps has this. Just wanted to know if you can have the company name show and the number in the call log instead of just having the phone number.
Thanks in advance.
I live overseas but call back to the us quite often for friends, family, or work. My mobile provider provides an economical way of calling back to the us and to many other countries by replacing +1 (or whatever the country code) with an access code (ie 13200 and country code). However I still need to store all my numbers regularly with + and country code for text messaging and syncing to other devices.
Am I missing something or is there no way to easily edit a number from contacts before dialing? I can edit numbers from the call log with a long press. But this doesn't seem possible from contacts. The only way I can seem to do it is dial with the original number, immediately hang up, then edit the number. My old Nokia did the number edits easily through contacts. Any suggestions? Am I just missing something? Any assistance would be appreciated. Using froyo. Thanks.

Didn't get any responses, so bumping back up. Anyone else have some suggested approaches that I might be missing? Thanks.
Hi,
I used to have this function. When anyone calls me, the phone used to announce the name or the number (if name was not stored in contact list). I had to do hard restore and now, it doesn't do it. Can anyone please help me on this issue. It's been bugging me for quite some time. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
Should be M$ Voice Command that has that function
