Hi all,
Last week I updated my Xperia Z1 to 5.1.1 pre-rooted firmware and it was clean installation.
I have a problem with the phone which I noticed yesterday. When I was on a call, I received another call waiting notification. So, I ended the first call and answered the second call, however, the calling party couldn't hear my voice. I can hear them, though.
I thought it was temporary issue, maybe a network issue.
But, the same thing happened again today when switching to a call waiting call.
Any idea what might be issue? :crying:
Thanks.

I don't have issues on my C6902 with stock prerooted 5.1.1
If it's only happened once, don't sweat it.

Thanks for the reply.
However, I was able reproduce the issue by making a call from my landline phone.
It happens like this,
I am on a call, then I receive the second call via call waiting.
The I directly switch to the 2nd call by putting the first on hold.
Then, there's no problem and mic works fine.
But,
The same way, if I end the first call without putting on hold and answer the 2nd call which was waiting, then the calling party can't hear my voice even though I can hear them.
This looks more like a bug to me.
Appreciate, if someone test this.

Hi
I have this strange problem where if i receive a call from someone I can hear them but they cannot hear anything im saying (this is NOT using speaker phone as i know there are issues relating to that). This is a normal call with the phone up to may face.
The really weird part is if i call someone they can hear me but i cannot hear them. Its as if depending on who start the call there is only 1 way communication.
It started doing it about a week ago where it was every second call or so with the problem now its every single call that is affected.
I have tried 3 different roms and 2 different radios without and luck.
Any ideas or am i going to have to flash it back to stock and send it in for repair?
This is so annoying....
Its seems to be random, but occasionally people will call, they tell me rings and then goes to voice mail, but it never rings on my end. There also is no record of the call in the call log. I first noticed the last week when my phone never rang, but then I saw I had a vm. Its happened a few more times since then. Very bizarre.
Anyone else experience this or know what would cause this?

I do. So far I've been using my new phone for about a week, and in average it is one lost call per day. The problem here is that (1) I don't get that many calls, so not much statistics (2) the only person that told me that so far is my wife, therefore I initially thought that it might have something to do with reinitialization of my family plan on ATT side.
Anyhow, this is really annoying, and I'm ready to call ATT about the issue.
I've got the Samsung Captivate not even 30 days used and just yesterday the sound for calls stopped working completely. when I make or receive a call I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me and there is no dial tone during the calling process. The speakers work fine, the microphone works fine and the speakerphone speaker all work fine I have no idea whats causing this. If anyone, anyone at all, could help me figure this out. I've tried resetting the phone as well as hard reset. I've messed with all the settings and am running everything stock except that the phone is rooted which was done 2 weeks ago so obviously not the problem. I've googled this for 2 hours and looked everywhere and am getting sick and tired of this. Please if anyone can help me I would be more appreciative than you could imagine. Thanks.
It's difficult to say what exactly is causing your loss of sound with only phone calls. I suppose it could be a number of things. I read the software update AT&T is pushing out this week is fixing some issues such as that; however, from just looking at the forums people are having major trouble with that update. The easiest fix I can think of is to turn up the voice call volume. During you next phone call use the volume rocker to turn it up. It may have somehow been turned all the way down. I hope that helps.
Yea i tried the volume rocker, I am just going to return it to the store since it's still in the first 30 days. I can't figure out what the heck it is, probably just a defect :-/
I tried unrooting it, reseting to factory defaults, and still the same problem. The speakers work fine for music, the phone is in amazing condition and everything is fine, it's just the darn voice calls, incoming and outgoing just don't work, the other person gets the call and it registers but no sound comes out. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this before I go back to the at&t store, it's quite far from where I live and living on campus makes it a bit hard to get there.

Well, I just got the same problem too. I was unable to listen anything on voice call and the other person can't hear anything too but the call is connected. I noticed that I could make phone call and hear the voice call but as long as the call ends, I can't hear other person if I make another call again. Please help. Thanks!
Hey people,
I have quite a few issues with my new Z3 Compact. This is my second post here (link to first http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/mobile-data-disappears-reboot-t2899890?nocache=1 )..
My question is as follows: Do you guys also have the issue, that the other person in a call can't hear you when you have the call on loudspeaker? It happens to me every time I do it, and as soon as I toggle the speaker off, and use the phone normally up to the ear there is no problem.
This was never an issue with my Galaxy S3 fortunately, but now it is.
Also, any ideas for a fix?
Thank you in advance

Working fine here. Could be so that you're speaker input is broken. Normal call and speaker phone doesn't use the same input.

I am sorry, I didn't explain well enough. They can hear me, my voice is just muffled they say.
I can't wait for cyanogenmod to get to this phone I am having a bunch of software issues
I have the same issue. Usually only happens when you are too close to the mic and you have to be close because the speakerphone is not loud enough
Try speaking a little further away.
Hello guys, I have a weird issue and maybe someone can help me. I have a Z3 compact and every time my girlfriend calls me, the call is muted, she says she can hear me but I don't hear anything, as if the phone is not on a call. She says it only happens when she calls me and funny enough, I receive calls normally from any other number.
I've tried disabling all the call improvements, but the problem persists. I have to hang up and then call her for the phone to work properly. I've done a search here and on Sony's forum and came up with nothing.
She has a Z1c by the way.
What do yo guys think?
I experience the same problem, very annoying if you ask me... I don't know what to do, thinking about asking to Sony
I know this thread is old but did you ever find a solution?
My problem is the opposite. I hear the person perfectly but they can't hear me. Hanging up and calling again usually solves it.
