Hello everyone,
Yesterday i disassembled my diamond to solve a problem with the keypad, that was protruding out of his place. I figured out that it was a structural flaw and with the help of my instruments i solved the problem. After that i assembled back all pieces, but when i tried to power on the device it works coz i can hear sounds and other stuff, but lcd screen is not powering up.
So i noticed that the ribbon flex cable was a bit damaged from the aluminium cover placed under the battery. I suppose that the problem is dued to that, but i'm not sure of it. So i need a confirmation that the LCD power is connected to that ribbon cable, so i can purchase the replacement. Thank you. The cable is the one in the attachement.
bump.
anyone??
up, noone knows the function of that piece?
yes, u need to change tat cable
yes, i supposed that. If someone knows the role of that piece i'll be grateful ;P
Hi,
One of the thing I do not like with the i9000 is the stupid fact that the micro-usb connector
is located on the top of the device, basically because my car charger is or too short, or seems to be "almost broken" when dock it to the upper side of the device.
What i want to do is to put the device up-side-down in my car holder, so the connectror
will be at the bottom, but I need a solution that can flip all the apps by 360 degree...
Is that solution available? something that force the change for all the apps? so the home button will be on top of the device?
Thanks,
Tomer
i'm loooking for the same thing, nothing yet
The Tab can rotate 360 degrees, so it should be possible to do on the SGS too. 2.2 should enable it, though I doubt it..

seems like it can be done , bit over my head though.
Would love to see that done to the Galaxy S, because it would make it really easy to build a custom dock (want to have sth. like a long bench for my PSP alongside with the Galaxy S and maybe my Sansa e250, would be made out of Aluminium with the Charging Connectors fixed into place, maybe by buying secondary USB Cable and Charger to make it into one Cable so that the Phone charges everytime but also can with the same Cable be connected to PC, some sort of Hybrid thing.)
I am planning on buying the bottom door for my nexus one from ebay since mine's a little beat up, but I want to know if it's possible to remove the contacts from the door that I own as a lot of the ebay auctions for the door appear to not have any contacts in place.
Otherwise, can anyone recommend me a place to buy one with the contacts?
Lastly, does anyone know if the chip for GPS or AGPS is located on the flex cable? (the piece which has the power button, headphone jack, and the black piece with square gold contacts running down in two lines) I just replaced mine and I don't know if the GPS connection got worse or not, but I am unable to get a lock on my phone.
I think the cover just had holes in it, and the contacts poke through from the inside. Remove the cover, and the contacts will still be on your phone...

Not the case on my phone, the contacts on the cover touch contacts on the motherboard but they aren't physically attached. They are physically attached to the cover, and I cant think of an easy or non destructive way to remove them. Thanks for replying though
Hi All,
I was taking apart my LTE S3 to fix some water damage and in the process managed to rip the connector off the PCB that connects to the thin wire that runs up the side of the phone. I have searched around and it looks like this is the wifi antenna ? (But not too sure).
As the small connector has been ripped off, it doesn't look like there is any terminal left on the board to resolder it back to. However, I've noticed there looks like there are two larger connectors on the board. What are the chances that I could use either of these ? If so how would i do it, is the antenna just a single connection (the inner or outer part of the connector) ?
Any help will be much apprciated.
Thanks.
Search for the SGS3 Teardown .

anyone know where to get the LCD connector on the motherboard from a Sprint HTC One?
as the picture shows, I've got a broken one that needs replacing.
It's 31 pins. The closing lever is on the back behind the slot to insert the LCD ribbon (white lever in picture). I think it's called an FPC or FFC connector. But I don't know the pitch.
thanks.
While I realize this post is some two years old, it came up pretty high on google search results, so I'm going to answer for the sake of anyone else that has this question and finds this post.
Code:

this appears to be exactly what you're looking for, but it looks to be a daunting task to replace.
