(Quick Charge 2.0) CHOETECH 15600mAh 2-Port USB Portable Charger External Battery Power Bank Fast Charger
I got this unit a few weeks ago and the benefits are clearly visible even after this short time of using it.
Let us start with the appearance. It is big and heavy due to the 15600mAh capacity, which keeps on going like an energizer bunny. Can also be used as a weapon. The outside case is well made and has an appealing design. One of the features I like is the LEDs, which displays the battery status while charging or being charged. What really impressed me is the Quick Charge 2.0-Technology. It works exactly like the 2.0 wall chargers in terms of how fast it charges the phone. For example, CHOETECH battery and the 2.0 wall charger both charged my phone in identical time, on the other hand, using the regular 2.1A wall charger and another 2.1A portable battery took roughly 45-60 minutes longer per 50% (tested with Nexus 6 but Note 5 showed similar results). The unit itself took 7 hours to charge from 0-100% using the quick charge technology. In comparison, my 12000mAh portable battery takes 12 hours to charge using the same wall charger. One other very useful feature is the ability to charge the unit using either micro USB or Lightning to USB Cable (Apple). If you forget your charging cable, chances are that someone near you has one or the other.
Overall, I highly recommend the CHOETECH QC-2.0 15600mAh 2-Port USB Portable Charger External Battery Power Bank. It does the job very well. The large capacity and multi USB ports allows for fast charging of multiple devices. And once they are charges, there is more than enough juice to charge two more devices.

Purchasing this was a bit of a gamble. One person posting on the Amazon product forum indicated that it did not work on their Nook Color. However, that has not been my experience. The included retractable cable and microUSB adapter do charge the Nook, however my Nook would still discharge (at a slower than normal rate) while using it. While not in use (Nook on, screen off) the Nook does charge. If the Nook's USB cable is used instead of the retractable cable, it charges just fine, in use or not.
Considering the Nook's battery is not removable, the external battery pack makes a great addition while traveling.
I have yet to run the battery pack empty while charging both my EVO and NC, so I can't comment on just how much power you can expect to get out of this. If the capacities of the nook (4000mAh) and the pack (11000mAh) are accurate, and there is little to no losses in charging efficiency, you'd expect to get almost three full NC charges for one charge of the battery pack.

I've had my eye on these though I don't travel quite enough to justify something that expensive. I have a now-discontinued APC 2000mAh pack that can charge my N1 with a little to spare. Although the NC (and the N1) slow charges from this pack, you can build a charge adapter that will make both charge at full power from any USB port. See this post.
What's the max charge current from this pack? If it can hit the 1.9A of the NC charger then an adapter would make this perfect.

The sticker on the pack indicates 5V 1A.
Can you charge two devices at once or is there just one usb output.
There is just one USB port. I believe the company makes another version with a USB port and a DC out port, but it has a smaller capacity and lower amperage outputs.
Is this one even better, and cheaper on sale?

Hi guys. I'm just wondering why the htc one charges at usb speeds with an apple 12v charger however my nexus 4 charges just fine with it. It's the same thing with my new trent external battery pack.

Do you mean the one charges slow, if so i think this is deliberate by htc as a slow charge is better for the battery`s health, as the user cannot replace the battery like you can on other phones.
John.

This is what I mean, I'm using the original cable and an apple 12v universal usb charger and it charges in usb mode and not ac mode.

It looks like the H1 has detected you apple charger as an no-approved charger and has limited it`s charging speed to lower currant/ma level.
I have seen this happen with other phones and usb charging devices before, i don't recommend you do this, an usb socket has 4 connection pins 1,2,3,4 , if the connection 2,3 are soldered together the device will charge at A/C speed, if connection 2,3 are not connected, it will charge at USB speeds.
I have taken an number of my usb charges apart and soldered pin 2+3 together to enable the high charge rate.
I cannot guaranty this is the reason for your usb message

Oh. No wonder. How sad. I have to buy new chargers I guess? The same thing happens with my car charger. Thanks for the explanation!
Hey guys, I need help.
Since I bought my Moto a days ago, the phone takes a lot of time to charge. I'm talking of 15hours-1day to full charge.
I used different USB cables and chargers of different amperage but nothing, all the same.
I don't know what the problem is. The battery? USB port?
With Ampere app, it shows like 70-100mah when charged and -210 mah of discharge when no plugged. It is normal?
Help me guys ?.

That is incredibly strange. Have you tried charging when the phone is off? What charger are you using, does it specify output amperage and voltage?
I have found mine to be very sensitive, as well as my Moto X Play. They seem very dependent on the cable as well. I'm currently using Anker cables with my phones and haven't had any trouble.
I'm used different chargers. A original Nokia charger with 550mah (very very very slow). Original iPhone charger with 1A (very slow). Original LG charger with 750mah (very slow). Generic charger with two ports, 1A and 2.1A but works better with 1A port; the same, very slow. All with 5V.
I charged with the phone off and the same, very slow. And the problem persists when you used while is charging; it's like the phone just don't charge, the battery still drain (fast) but the battery icon shows the charging icon.
I used a Samsung cable as well as the LG cable.
i also dont know whats happening while recharging. with my different solutions, via adapter plus cable or a 'native' recharger (all up to 5V/2A) my moto just recharge up to a maximum value of 350ma/h.
and this without any real consumption.
I think that the USB port is damaged. Or maybe the battery.
Hello, I'm wondering if charging my phone at a higher amperage will damage the battery, even giving me worse battery life.
Phone battery specs:
•Can handle up to 760mA
•2600 mAh battery
•Runs at 3.83 to 3.93 volts
Charger specs:
Input:
•100-240 volts
•.5 amps
•50-60 Hz
Output:
•5.2 volts
•2 amps
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!
Here's more information regarding my battery. And I was charging using the quicker charger.
Side note: The battery can handle up to 760 mA, I couldn't wait for the app I used to completely finish measuring.

Phone doesn't have quick charge support.
700mA is very low using AC charger. Try different 2A charger or different cable

Your charger must be bad, i use one from moto x 5A 1,15A and it charges at that same rate.
And no, the battery will not have any problems handling 2A

Phone has its own charging system you can connect 10A charger and it will reduce charging current (current depends of charging state and in some cases temperature). What reduces battery live spam is heat.

As pikiwedia said, the phone will reduce he charging current. As my galaxy s5, the charger has a max 2A output, but the phone only gets 1,2A

I'm getting about 1800mah on my Anker 5port charger.
Charging by a high Amp charger won't damage the battery. The only thing that degrades the battery and makes battery life worse is usage and heat. On average batteries nowadays have ~1000 battery cycles before you notice an effect on battery life.

Is there a work around for the phone not recognizing a non-OEM charger and charging slowly? There HAS to be a way around this! My G2 is currently sitting at 23% and it says that it will take 9 hours to charge till full!?!?! Even with a generic charger there is no way it should take 9 hours to add 77% to my battery. Any suggestions from anyone, other than buying the OEM charger? I know they're only $10 on eBay but if I could buy one I would have.

What cable are you using? Cheap USB cable have small gauge wires that cannot carry the current this phone draws and will create a large voltage drop which eventually terminates or slows the charging process.
I have a cheap 1A knockoff car charger and use a very short USB cable (1ft) and my phone charges almost as fast as at home.
T
EDIT: Also check the USB port in the phone - if there is lots of lint in there, it prevents the connector from seating and making good contact.
The USB port is fine but I'm using a 2.1amp plug that supports quick charging and a regular 6ft microUSB cable. Still getting the "charging slowly" message.

Must have been a problem with CM13 or something. After restoring my stock backup I no longer get the "charging slowly" message and the phone definitely charges fast now.
I would try charging while completely shut down.
Yes its an issue with the rom you are using. I would suggest you use stock lollipop rom with dorimanx kernel to get the most outta your device.
