Hi, I'm a newbie in this field, but, I'm watching this forum very closely
I have a question, How to resize my Fat32 partition and shrink the Ext3 partition given that:
I have recovery RA Nexus 1.7.0.1, Android 2.1
and 16GB SD Card class 6
and my card is formated as below
64 Swap
6GB Ext3 I know it's too much
9GB Fat32.
Thank you so much,
MAG
It should be pretty self-explanatory. If you figured out how to get Amon's recovery on there, you should be able to figure this out. I would back up anything you might want on there, reboot into recovery. Select the Partition SD card menu, and format as you see fit, it will guide you through the sizes. I have no idea why you would want 6 GB of ext3, but I don't care either.
Thank you, but, is there a way without formating it would be great, because, copying is taking much time.
Even I'm doing that right now, and thanks for the tip
PS: for the 6GB (ext3), I thought, I might need it for large applications, and I didn't get the concept that it will only store apks only.
You could get a LiveCD for GParted. That's the GNOME Partition Editor. It's very straightforward.

@Faju: Thank you so much, I'll try it
You're welcome!
Hi there i have searched similar threads but no help,
what im looking to do on my Galaxy s is beable to create a FAT Format partition on my internal sd card.
Is this possible and how can it be done.
Thanks
Hello Everyone,
I have just installed link2sd on my phone. But I came to know that in order to link my apps to sd card, i need to create a second partition on my sd card.
I searched and downloaded minitool partition home wizard for partitioning the card.
I tried with my transcend 8gb card but i dont know how to partition card i.e. how much to allocate the space for first, second and other partition and which format should be used(whether FAT32, Ext1, Ext2 or Ext3).
I am currently using android 2.1(rooted).Since I am a completely noob in this sector, i have no idea about this.
Please help me!!

Thanks for the reply.
For Partitoning the card, we should also make space for linux swap or not?
Also, could you tell me what allocation of space for 8gb would be the best for FAT32 and Ext2 partition??
thnx for the info man!

There is no need for linux swap.
Ext2: 500MB - 900MB.
Do not make it to 1GB or more, save that space for your FAT32 and you won't really need that huge space for link2sd anyway.
The rest of free space will be for FAT32.
and it's up to me I will turn almost all of it into ext2/3 and a little bit for fat
why? Because I dun deal with windows that much and so I reserve only a little bit of them for transfer between the systems. Ext2/3 is linux based and inherently superior to fat.
HELP if you know how to......
I have a 8GB SD Card.... and ext3 partition of 1GB on it.
Now i feel that 1 GB partition is too large and 700 MB of my card are getting waste.
Can i use Windows 7 Memory Storage tools to delete this partition and merge... ?
Or if there is any other way please tell.

you can use any good partition manager and delete the partition you have created. And re-create the one with smaller size
I have the same problem.....deleting the partition with minitool partition didn't work .......I lost the partition space altogether ....had to struggle to restore the space
Sent from my GT-S5830
Simplest way is to use "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition"
With this app you can create/resize partition.
Hope this helps
Thank You Guys
Thank You All
i just formated using phone internal feature and again formated using CWM.

Is there any way to fix the partitioning on my P1000?

Somehow I have partitioned the internal storage of my P1000 and one partition (the primary) is almost always at capacity. Can I fix this? Happy to format the entire device if needs be.
Appreciate help.
Cheers
