Recently in my Moto X XT1092 running stock 5.1, I started facing some issues with my wireless hotspot. The hotspot would be showed turned on but it didn't actually turn on as no SSID was being broadcasted. So I searched and found that if it was successfully started I should see a 'hostapd' service through 'ps' command in shell which I tried and that process was not running even when the hotspot was on through the settings. So I captured the logcat hoping that someone from XDA might help. I am attaching the logcat. Please anyone having knowledge on this issue, help me out. Thanks in advance.
Is there no one in the Motorola X (2014) XDA forums who might help me out? I am quite against giving my phone to those god forsaken service center guys to whom the solution of any problem is factory resetting the phone!! Please some help here would be appreciated.

Hi, everyone. I finally broke down and rooted my HTC One running 4.4.2 Kit Kat. I've had the phone for a while but finally got around to it. I am not new to Rooting/development by any means.
My question is: After scouring these forums and trying to get a direct answer. Is there any working Wifi tether app for 4.4.2? Again phone is rooted. The trev one or others seem to start up and run fine. Only problem is my SSID is not found on any of my other devices. Meaning to me the signal is not getting out of the phone. So if someone can point me to thread I maybe missed or a resolution, that would be greatly appreciated. Seeing as this is the main reason I decided to break down and root this phone.
Thanks for your time in advance.
I can't connect to the Wi-Fi at my work on my Nexus9 or my MotoX. I believe it is due to Android 5.0. I've seen a few articles about corporate Wi-Fi accounts having issues with lollipop.
Is there a fix on the way?
Does anyone else have this problem?
We just got a Moto X yesterday, and it upgraded itself to Lollipop just a few minutes ago. And, now it refuses to connect to our home wi-fi. The connection screen is stuck on "authenticating." It worked fine before the upgrade. Any suggestions for fixes would be greatly appreciated.
I have had this problem on the nexus 6. Haven't had a chance to try the moto x on lollipop yet at work. Seems to be related to having a space or dash in the network name. Here is the link to the google issue tracker about it in this post.

Hello XDA community. Im having a weird issue with my wifi antenna wich doesn´t dettect ALMOST any network (at least not mine). Sometimes when Im at the street, some open wifis are shown, or some other closed also but never mine. I have tried everything, from going from 4.4.4 to 5.1. Im at Lollipop now, no issues at all except that the Wifi seems not working. Everything started after we rebooted Modem, all other devices connected except mine. Im contacting you in order to know if there is some firmware I can flash for the wifi antenna to see if that fix the problem.
Thanks so much in advance :highfive:
EDIT: The only thread I have found related to this issue is this from Android Open Source Project, where they suggest to use a console to diagnostic the wifi driver: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1124 The thing is that i dont know i im using well the commands they sugest or maybe someone may have the right walk through to start from scratches so I can make an accurate diagnostic. Or maaaybe there is a way to flash the wifi drivers or modem??? thanks guys
Hey Guys hope you fine
But I'm not :crying: I had bought LG G4 sprint and it is pretty cool
But the hotspot stopped
I try to search everywhere for a solve but I can't find any thing
Plz help me
Please provide more information. What sw version are you running? How long was hotspot working? What do you mean it stopped? What specifically happened? What were you doing when it happened?
Sounds like your battery died, did the screen stop working at the same time the hotspot stopped?
I have a Moto X ver 5.1 developer edition that I've recently rooted just yesterday. I installed some apps from Chainfire, but the one in particular I want to talk about is Pry-Fi.
I suspect that this app could had done it because the day before my phone was behaving fine while both WiFi and the app running at the same time but today was different.
What I did differently was that I decided to start Pry-Fi before turning on my Wi-Fi and that's when the trouble happened and the WiFi option to turn it on is greyed-out.
I'll sorry that this doesn't really make much sense, but it's where I'm at now.
Do anyone else have a similar problem that's willing to help? Thank you!
UPDATE: I did a wipe on my phone and didn't fix the problem. At least, I know it's a more internal issue.
UPDATE_2: I fixed the problem,I just re-flashed the stock ROM if anyone cared. lol I did find out that it was Pry-Fi that ****ed my WiFi, don't know specifically what had happened but I do know that Pry-Fi was connected.
